  1. At first base. He wasn't flying around the OF trying to make up for the lack of range of the other OF.
  2. I would agree for the players who aren't "injury prone" I think players do need time off more mental than physical but the target should be at in the 140s I also get that part if the strategy is to keep the bench involved and somewhat sharp as they will be needed when the starters go down. All of this is magnified by the abbreviated spring training which we predicted would increase injuries. The primary issue though is guys like Robert, Jimenez and moncada need to have significant changes to their off season training.
  3. I think it's obvious from the number of soft tissue injuries that there is something wrong with his off season training.
  4. Go check physiology. Tissues don't heal fully 100% for nearly 10-12 months. It heals well enough for activity in 6-8 weeks but again it's about 85% or so. Muscles are muscles, ligaments a re ligaments. If they are sprinting 100% it doesn't matter if it's to first base, after a fly ball, scoring a goal or catching a pass. Baseball isn't a rough sport but the act act of going from standing still to full speed as in hitting or defense is a stressful act. It's not load management when it's recovering from injury, it's common sense.
  5. I don't disagree with the performance however woth a guy as injury prone as him, I don't blame them for being cautious and giving him breaks. He obviously needs a change in off season training but there is nothing they can do about that now.
  6. Obviously, you don't live in the real world. An injury doesn't heal 100% for 10-12 months. After 6-8 weeks it's usually about 80-85% healed and they can play and do it effectively but it is not 100% The build up is for the offseason and during the season it's maintenance work. This is all a set back with injuries. It's not a linear progression.
  7. Yet they are still getting injured. So your solution to helping players coming back from injury is to not give them rest?
  8. Yeah. This year and probably next are exceptions. Due to the COVID year, many prospects other than the absolute top are going to be a year older than normal.
  9. Always has been. I'm surprised it's taken this long for some of his behaviors to come to light
  10. Always get pitching in a trade even if it's a throw in.
  11. While impressive they were down two of their best hitters. So I wouldn't "a lineup as good as the Angels"
  12. You can conclude this about Burger with less than a season in the MLB? You are TLR best friend. PLATOON EVERYONE!
  13. Burger has less than a full season in the MLB. He is not what he will be.
  14. Now we know why they traded for Brown.
  15. Fields will need to improve a great deal to complete that many passes. Below 60% completion rate won't do it.
  16. The whole team isn't very good and they know it. They are not planning on being very good this year. Next year they will have a high 1st round pick for the WR and a ton of cap space. Worrying about what they did or didn't do for this year really isn't worth the time.
  17. Agreed. Not. A. Fan. Of. Len. Kasper.
  18. I did not think they needed hitting. They had 7 really good hitters in the lineup. Or so I thought.
  19. I must apologize to everyone. I'm the one one who kept insisting that the lineup was fine and they needed to concentrate on acquiring pitching. I've put history's largest jinx on this lineup. These are not bad hitters but I have made them so. I must go sacrifice a live chicken.
  20. ptatc replied to Tomtom's topic in Pale Hose Talk
You know they won't go over the tax so that number is the realistic number for how much they have left to work with.

Didn't someone post that with cap eligible benefits the actual cap number is 210?
  22. With the way the team is playing right now they're lucky to win any game.
  23. It will be interesting as this isn't a case where she didn't press charged. It us a case that the prosecutor said they didn't find enough evidence.
  24. There is no way they finish 3rd. There aren't 2 teams better than them. They are currently 3rd and have 8 on the IL and have played as absolutely as bad as they possibly can. Now with this dead baseball the hitter are going to need to change their power first mentality at least for awhile. But they won't play this poorly all year.
  25. Corner and OL.
