  1. Who said there was a problem? Since it was Friday sounds like a "here are the goals for the second half" type of thing.
  2. I think this year there are enough promising young players that they know there is something to look forward to. Even if they aren't winning there is that possible future. Last year was more retread veterans as a stop gap until the young prospects arrived this year. They knew it was nothing last year.
  3. Its always possible. Conservative treatment doesn't always work.
  4. Just the way rehab typically goes. The 18 months is the very conservative end and 12 months is the more accelerated end. These numbers take into account pitchers who have surgery in season so they miss one whole season just due to the timeline. Thorpe had surgery prior to the season so he should be more on the early end of the typical time as long as there are no unforseen set backs. There are always us and downs during the rehab process
  5. During a full baseball season no one is 100% healthy. Sorenesses ans aches show up. Its a grind on the body. The key is to determine what is a soreness, pain and injury. Usually the soreness especially go away with treatment. This one was progressing so they need to take a deeper look.
  6. Correct. My bet is that its earlier in the time frame.
  7. Changing the pitch mix doesn't typically involve the knee.
  8. And..... They aren't going to really compete until after the lockout in 2027. The goal for next year is just like this year. Bring up the prospects to gain experience. Build from the ground up.
  9. That's why they have drafted them high and traded for them. It all starts with pitching.
  10. Yep. We'll see when they decide. Ill wager before the AS break.
  11. I dont think they want Quero facing too many RHP. His ops is 565. As opposed to 983 when facing LHP. He does have more games and AB against RHP though. They seem to be slowly working it in.
  12. He had surgery on March 22. He'll be throwing before the end of the year. He'll be ready for Spring Training. Just all depends on when they decide he is strong enough and ready to face MLB hitters.
  13. I'm sure they are trying to acquire it now. However the teams trading the pitchers away are also trying to get as much as possible in return. This may not work right now. That's why the trades happen at the deadline. Negotiations on both sides give a little. They aren't willing to do that right now.
  14. They did follow him up with schweitzer so hopefully it was planned.
  15. Yep. 3 innings 28 pitches.
  16. No reason to open the books until the union agrees to a cap and/or floor that is a percentage of revenue. Even then its league wide not necessarily per team. They lose bargaining power if they do.
  17. Yeah, always hijacked from actually trade talk.
  18. Blyleven had one of the best I've seen in person.
  19. Mostly because he was a fan of Gtez. People really got on him when he said positive things about him. He did get defensive about it. Not that I blame him.
