  1. 3rd game of the season....season over To answer the question, 57 more games.
  2. He's twitchy out there. I like it.
  3. Yes, but Cooper is the reason that Cease can't do it.
  4. Strikeouts are fascist. Ground balls are American. Learn how to pitch low in the zone.
  5. Probably only wanted to play him one game today after getting his bell rung the other day.
  6. I've missed these game threads.
  7. Hopefully Cease will continues his development and learn something from this game. You can't only live at the top of the zone.
  8. I think he has embraced it a little too much. Should be just another tool, however too many teams are focusing too heavily with it. Just an old guy opinion.
  9. Maybe he's gone too far the other way. Cease is definitely not taking any velocity off to improve command as Cooper used to teach.
  10. maybe because they now focus on spin rate and velocity with the pitching lab and don't focus enough on command? I don't know.
  11. It's almost like if you focus on command and not velocity you're a better pitcher.
  12. I'll say it again, I would not throw this team a fastball.
  13. Yes. All of the talking heads on the radio are bashing MLB for not having a plan, making things up and not looking at September.. When presented with this never before seen scenario, flexibility is the key. It's a sport where people make there living, get over it.
  14. Don't blame them one bit. It will be interesting to see if the games are canceled, moved to washington or moved to another site.
  15. I get that. But since he isn't due for a significant raise for a couple of years, I didn't see how that would change it. If he comes back next year he is on the same path. However, if future earnings potential takes effect at the time of the divorce, it could make a big difference if he pitches.
  16. Interesting. I always thought it was current earnings. I know people that have taken their ex-spouses to court when the other got raises and also when he lost his job and went to court to get it lowered.
  17. He is only in his second year in the league. He was not getting any kind of jump in pay for at least 2 more years. Income would have very little effect on anything.
  18. Interesting to see who has the higher OPS this year Garcia or Madrigal. Madrigal is the better defender but I think Garcia will be better with the bat this year.
  19. Really. so no service time but a year gone on the contract, interesting. Thanks for the info.
  20. That's fine, I disagree. The intensity in the last couple of ST start should ramp up as well. Physically it's not hard to get ready.
  21. Are players under long term contracts who opt out still under control of the teams for the number of years of the contract or is another added? For example if a players signed a contract for 5 years but opted out (not a high risk) are they under contract for 5 years or 6? I would assume its 6 as they are not getting service time but I'm not sure. I know this doesn't apply to Kopech but I haven't seen an answer.
  22. True but unfortunately when even one part of the couple leads a public life let alone both, it's going to happen.
  23. Unless you've been playing awhile and made your money, it's hard to go almost 2 years with no income.
  24. How many players can they have active for a double header now?
