  1. I said this back when the Cubs signed Heyward. Player only options are awful deals for the teams. Sometimes it may be the only way to convince a player to sign though and some teams are willing to risk it.
  2. The only reason he didnt was that OSU had one of the top defensive players in the nation there. His scouting reports all say he has all the tools to be an average MLB SS but his arm is more suited to a GG caliber 2B.
  3. No doubt. The timing of when all of it is being discovered is just a little to coincidental.
  4. Retribution against the whistleblower has started.
  5. While you are correct on some of that, that is some good revisionist history. The Sox finished first or second in the division 20 times in the past 50 years and 16 in the past 30 . While that means to 70s and 80s were very lean, it's hardly what I would call rare. In those years they were in the race for most of the season. Those were meaningful games. The Cubs on the other hand finished first or second only 13 times in that same time frame. They've only very recently been better. In the past 30 years its been 8 for the Cubs compared to 16 for the Sox. The comparitive records and team quality hasn't been the issue. It's been the Cubs on WGN and the Sox stupid idea to try sportsvision in the early 80s, which was bad idea at the time but all teams are doing now.
  6. That article really makes keuchal look bad and Verlander look good. At least keuchal made an attempt to apologize.
  7. Give him my thanks. I really like many of their beers. I've been there with my cousins beer brewing club and they treat them well.
  8. I've only been to lemont just up the road for me.
  9. I do like pollyanna. I was just there a few weeks ago.

We all have our "fanboy moment." Of all the professional athletes and others I've worked with, taping Gabriella Reece ankle and shoulder for an entire weekend tournament was outstanding.
  11. I like their beer. So saying that they arent considered a "craft" beer any longer.

The only ones that bother me are the adults that push kids out of the way to get to foul balls. To each his own but that's over the top.
  13. Founders isn't either. Owned by a company from Spain I believe.
  14. Off color, troublesome is outstanding.
  15. Those arent bad. My preference is to stay below 25 IBU. I prefer the wheats and sours. Too many of the microbreweries lean towards hoppy, hoppier and hoppiest for their brews. It's tough to find ones that dont do that.

Yeah, where is he. We've had many good beer discussions.
  17. Not sure he has more upside than mize. Mize has 4 plus pitches and control.

If you like sours or a good gose, all of the ones made by Destihl from urbana and Bloomington, are excellent and can be found at binnys.
  19. This will always be the answer and attitude when you have a whistleblower in this type of situation. Right or wrong Fiers lost a great deal of friends. Same thing happens in every workplace with a union.
  20. Which is owned by Inbev. Inbev owns a number of so called microbrewries. Most of the ones that are widely distributed are owned by either Inbev or Molson-Coors.
  21. as could rodon.
  22. sure but then people would complain about not not having a MLB 1B. 18mm and 3 years is a good price for a productive hitter. They could have signed other but no one appreciably better than Abreu.
  23. Not if they don't want to start losing draft picks.
  24. Castellanos is not an appreciably better hitter for the difference in money and years as well as the intangibles.
  25. Depends on your definition of playing. You are correct from a particular point of view. ?
