Kris Bryant loses grievance
How do you know it a shady and misleading number? If it is then we sure cant trust your 60 % either. No matter which way you look at it the overall money going to the players isn't far out of line.

That doesnt take into consideration all of the non-statistical variables then. That could hurt some players.

But who would decide on the RFA if both sides presented their case?

Players already get 55% of the revenue. It's not like the owners are gouging them.

White Sox Top Prospects (Where do they start?)
they'll know more this year at Charlotte. Birmingham is notoriously hard on power numbers.

How would they do this? There isn't a cap like basketball where they can determine the share of the revenue that goes to the players. The share for the players is usually around 55% but it isn't determined in any formal way. I do think an MLB payroll floor would be the thing that would help the players the most.

I like these articles. However, in the OF one, can someone be notoriously, well coached? ?

They will have to give up a lot to to allow players to enter FA earlier. If they somehow change the arbitration process it may be as much. In your example, you need to define WAR. Which version? Can the owners come up with their own version. There is no way the owners will agree to something that will accelerate the FA timeclock without substantial sacrifices from the players. Maybe a cap on a % of salary for the RFA. I don't disagree the the RFA concept is a good one I like it, however the players will need to give up something.

ESPN Lineup Ranking
Agreed. They will have Grandal and Madrigal for OBP with that roster, hopefully Vaughn will be another.

Kopech and post TJ in general
I thought his quote was that they weren't using "numbers" but were going by how he felt and his fatigue.

ESPN Lineup Ranking
I don't necessarily agree with the rank but I understand why they did it. "Experts" really value walks and patience. This lineup has a weakness there. They have power but the contact/patient skill is low.

We totally disagree on just about everything here. However, I do agree that it is laying the groundwork for the next CBA. It will be intewresting what the players have to give up for this system to change. I suspect it will center around changing arbitration not FA. Arbitration for the owners is the single biggest factor for artificial salary inflation.

I'm more concerned about how Robert is with his high strikeout rate. I fully expect him to really struggle early on. I'm convinced Madrigal will hit. He will not have under a .650 OPS for a full season. His contact skills are just too good.

MLB cheating scandal
Everyone's entitled to their own opinion. I've never played the game at that level, I just go by my discussions with players during games, of course it was 30 years ago. The stats really don't seem to support the idea either. It would seem to be an advantage and maybe in that one situation you mentioned it is by that is a very small percentage of at bats.
-
MLB cheating scandal
No doubt on the intent to cheat part. Some of the reason is the mental part. Some players do think it helps and when swinging a bat even the smallest advantage can help. However, looking at your stats, it didn't really seem to help.

MLB cheating scandal
I think it's because of what I said earlier. While sign stealing does give some advantage, it's really not that big of an advantage. Just knowing fastball or off speed doesnt tell you location or which off speed pitch to gauge the break. There are many players who prefer not to know because it messes with their thought process.

How could you not make it to the town with the greatest high school team name in the state, the Hoopeston Cornjerkers.

Unfortunately, there always be racism/bigotry. There always going to be people who need to blame others for their issues whether its race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status or religion. In today's environment you can even throw political party in there.

MLB cheating scandal
It would be really difficult to use the camera and computer in the clubhouse on the road. An attendant would easily see it and report it to the home team.

NFL Thread 2019-2020
When I heard it, I thought the Bears were bringing in a new backup QB. I remember him as a QB in the Big 10. ? They do need a cornerback as well.

Yeah, Baker is a very short term manager.

Castellanos to Reds , rumored 4/64M
That's because theo has never figured how to draft or develop pitchers he had to buy them. The Sox shouldn't be in that position with having traded for the pitchers to lead the staff and fill in with FA that dont need a 7-10 year deal.

This is my vote.

Would be nice. However, I don't think there are many out there and who are available.
