  1. QUOTE (Deadpool @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 05:04 PM) He's actually Rick Hahn. He was just waiting until it was pretty clear he'd be fired. Naw, Hahn is on his 1,562 hand of solitaire for the season. He's got a great win streak going.
  2. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 04:03 PM) Why in the hell should Bernie Sanders quit now when Hillary Clinton SHOULD and probably will be indicted and NEVER be allowed to run? Hillary is showing naivety thinking her privilege as Wall Street's favorite speaker (her speeches are so damn good she deserves that $250,000) that she thinks she's immune to prosecution?? This is gonna get interesting. hang in there Bernie. Read this!! p.s. Why don't any of you Hillary supporters care about this stuff?? She may be our most despicable candidate EVER. Before you say that is mean or cruel or worthy of banning me, folks she is this close to being in jail for gosh sakes! http://www.huffingtonpost.com/h-a-goodman/...b_10354484.html She qualifies to be Governor of Illinois then.
  3. QUOTE (ronkark @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 04:10 PM) Continuing our long tradition of promoting undeserving people, I give you Tyler Danish. Pitching in a pitchers park. he was 3-7 with an era of 4.42. If that doesn't sell it all, he's given up 5 or more earned runs in 3 of his last 6 starts. Also 47 K's in 75 innings. Nothing about that translates to major league success. This is a rush job and only reasoning I can think of is they are showcasing him as trade bait. Otherwise, you're better off with Fulmer and yes I know about the control. He's not ready either. But he's a higher prospect and they are both struggling so may as well promote the higher prospect. I think they are truly interested in seeing how the funky delivery translates to the MLB. It wouldn't be Fulmer as they don't want to take a chance of decreasing his chances of success if he's not ready.
  4. QUOTE (shipps @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 03:59 PM) OMG only less because he would be less likely to get over a decade somewhere else as he is guaranteed here. We will have to agree to disagree ptatc. LOL Ok, but if everything you said is true. Hahn is not only a complete idiot with no ambition but also no one anyone else would want to work with. And by the way I don't think any of that is true. He just isn't doing his job very well while trying very hard.
  5. QUOTE (shipps @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 03:54 PM) Yeah because people dont make decisions based on money? Cmon. Sure they were offering him GM positions but thats not my point. I would rather stay with an org that I know is going to be loyal beyond fault. Not if you didn't have any power. That would get around the league really quickly that you have no ambition and really don't care to work. He is sealing his own demise to never get another job as well.
  6. QUOTE (shipps @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 03:54 PM) Yeah because people dont make decisions based on money? Cmon. Sure they were offering him GM positions but thats not my point. I would rather stay with an org that I know is going to be loyal beyond fault. At his stage the position is the key to what he has been aspiring to. You are the only one assuming other teams would pay him less to be a GM elsewhere. I didn't realize that JR paid his people so much more than other teams. Most people call him cheap.
  7. QUOTE (shipps @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 03:44 PM) I see Hahn get credit for some of the contracts he has gotten done with our young pitching but I dont see a lot people running around giving him credit for other stuff. There really havent been many successes to brag about for Hahn since he has been the GM. I agree. That's why if changes are to be made its not just KW that needs to go as so many posters here want. It's on Hahn as well. I've agreed with most of his moves But I'm just a dumba$$ fan. Eventually if the good moves don't produce results, THEY need to go. My only point all along is that it isn't just KW as many posters are doing the, this is a KW move.
  8. QUOTE (shipps @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 03:43 PM) Could it be possible that Hahn likes the financial security that the Sox present him with that NO OTHER organization could give him? Why go somewhere that if you fail they will hold you accountable? No. Anyone with enough ambition to work his way up the ladder to be a GM is not going to take money for doing nothing. By all other account many other organizations were offering him opportunities to be a GM.
  9. QUOTE (shipps @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 03:36 PM) I would love to see evidence that Hahn has fresh ideas that they follow through with. I think the evidence would be that do you truly believe that a person so coveted by so many organizations would turn down all of those other positions to take one where he has no say or power? If they answer is yes, I don't want him as GM. If it's no, then they work TOGETHER. The decisions are mutual and they rise or fall TOGETHEr.
  10. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 03:23 PM) it's so obvious that KW is still running things, all these moves scream "KW dumpster dives". Very disheartening. Unbelievable......
  11. QUOTE (shipps @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 03:22 PM) If its not KW then its Hahn operating through the essence of Kenny Williams past. I don't know....maybe they work together? People do that on occasion.
  12. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 03:30 PM) Now you're talking. Let's hope he can play at Ludicrous Speed!!!!!!!!
  13. QUOTE (shipps @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 03:20 PM) Even if he is good you cant count on him. Just get him a really big helmet.
  14. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 03:25 PM) https://twitter.com/danish_Tyler7/status/741000086180777984 Congrats to him!!!! It is the dream of many that few achieve. Now just be good, please.
  15. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 03:21 PM) Yes, but if it were short-term wouldn't they just call up Carroll or something? I think he stays if successful. I think the pen has the plan because alot of his success is due to the odd delivery. I don't think it would play well as a starter in the MLB.
  16. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 03:16 PM) His own statements after meeting with Obama? He'll get influence on the party platform thanks to the large number of delegates he's collected, and that gives him influence with his Democratic colleagues in the Senate for committee appointments. Sanders owes any appointment he holds in the Senate to the Democrats. I think Sanders is also aware how terrible a Trump presidency (and court appointments) would be for his own policy preferences, and that a fractured Democratic party won't stand a chance of taking back the Senate and thus weakens his own power. Yeah, I don't think you could make up two that would be further apart.
  17. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 03:17 PM) Lol. You people are so ridiculous.
  18. QUOTE (shipps @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 03:03 PM) He is a prototype of who KW likes to sign so it would be of no surprise. Unbelievable.....
  19. QUOTE (harkness @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 03:10 PM) Seriously seems to me like these guys think if they don't win this year their done. That should be the case. They've had a few years to at least show improvement. It has worked. I liked their off season plan. Made sense. Hasn't worked.
  20. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 03:06 PM) This is starting to remind of 1982. In September the Sox kept bringing in former big names, guys like Jim Kern and Sparky Lyle. It didn't work, but it was kind of fun. I forgot all about that. It was kind of fun.
  21. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 03:01 PM) I dont know if JB Shuck can go two days in a row, might have to use Danish tonight if things get messy. I might go with Garcia, maybe he'll blow his elbow out ala Canseco.
  22. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 02:09 PM) I don't think this organization has the right people in scouting/development to do it. They seem to do fine with pitching. +1000
  23. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 01:47 PM) Then why not fire him? Obviously, he has no point to being here. It's clearly just a players game. Players get up, go out, and come back. The manager has no interaction and no influence on anything related to the team. It's so obvious! Why fire him and waste more money when the players are the same? It's the players and the people who put the players (and the manager) in place that are the big difference makers. It serves no purpose to fire the manager if nothing else changes.
  24. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 01:46 PM) Lol. Fans like you make me laugh. Ditto. I just happen to think that the players on the field have a lot more to do with winning and losing than the guy sitting on the bench watching. The fans that feel the opposite befuddle me.
  25. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 11:56 AM) While it might be a pretty place, it would be an awful place for a ballpark. No public transportation. LSD would be a headache. It's fine for the Bears 8 days a year, but 81? People aren't going to want much of it. I always though the park should have been around Roosevelt and the River. You have Red line, Green line and Orange line stops a couple of blocks away. You have the downtown work people extremely close. Could have built a riverwalk type thing, and opened it up to the skyline a bit. But the park now is fine. I think it would be great. The metra line stops right there. That's how I get to Bears games. It would be a lot easier for me than the current location. Of course you couldn't get me to live anywhere near the actual city either.
