  1. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 10:19 AM) He lives in Arizona. He is a regular golfing buddy with a family friend who lives out that way and made an ass load of money in home security. And from what he says about Alice it corroborates all the stories that he's a really cool and down to earth guy. From what I understand, he is damn good on the links.
  2. I have to stay out of these threads, or I'd end up getting myself banned. Have fun folks.
  3. Lasik and the contacts, you and I can go out and get those things ... legally. They don't put your body at risk nor do they encourage kids to put their bodies at risk. There's a big difference in these 'performance enhancers' and the kind Palmeiro got busted for.
  4. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 09:32 AM) "The Eyes Of Alice Cooper" is the last one. "Dirty Diamonds" is the new one. To my surprise, it has just been released. Hmm, looks like I have a CD to go buy. Thanks man. Much appreciated.
  5. QUOTE(3E8 @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 09:28 AM) Ivan Rodriguez is a HOF lock I guarantee you that. On the surface, I agree. What direction this steroid issue takes, and it's effect on the HOF remains to be seen.
  6. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 09:28 AM) wow that would be crazy if the one dude fell off that couch. Broken leg waiting to happen.
  7. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 09:26 AM) Loaf is US. Album titles to The Byrds stuff? No, I just have the boxset. But that band had a TON of hits. Also influenced everybody, mainly Tom Petty though. I was asking about Alice Cooper.
  8. QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 09:22 AM) Well said.
  9. QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 09:14 AM) I thought he was from England...? I thought he was a California boy. I could be wrong. Maybe it's just the lyric "I was a varsity tackle and a helluva a block"
  10. QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 09:12 AM) Seaver jersey that both him and Fisk signed with 300th win and HOF . As you said to someone yesterday ... SHUUUUUUUT UUUUUUP!
  11. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 09:07 AM) The last Alice Cooper album was actually VERY good. A nice return to form for him. Word has it that the new one is even more of a return. It's about time he realizes he is a Rock and Roll artist, and NOT a Metal/Industrial guy. Did anybody ever mention The Byrds? Do you know the album titles?
  12. QUOTE(heirdog @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 08:47 AM) I agree. I am so sick of seeing so many good to great shortstops come up with so many other teams and the whitesox still proud of Ozzie Guillen (from San Diego system) and the Dybber...Jerry Dybzinski (who cares what system???). Please Robert Valido...don't become Mike Caruso Also, does anyone know what happened to Jason Dallaero? I know he was a SS/2B prospect turned "pitcher" experiment but not sure if he is completely out of the system now. He gawn! ... He was released last year, I believe. He sign with, I think, Kansas City ... and that's the last I heard of him.
  13. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 09:04 AM) We will never know the full list, but some people will leak out specific intreaging names. Last year, a full list came out, iirc.

    Neil Diamond

QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 09:02 AM) I probably know the words to 7 or 8.. I know I'll recognize a lot more than that. I've heard he's a good show so I'm sure it'll be fun.. I'd rather be at the Sox game though. Me too.
  15. QUOTE(JimH @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 08:51 AM) They added another pitcher in an attempt to keep their best relievers arms fresh for September and October. The team was built on pitching, why not give your best arms every possible advantage when they'll be needed most? Because, that might mean we lose today's game. :headshake
  16. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 08:52 AM) Its so dissappointing to see him go down again. Frank has been my favorite Sox player. I hope he can come back and play again, with the Sox. He'll just have to take a pay-cut and maybe be more of a sub. I hope we see you back Frank. If not, I look forward to seeing you in the Hall. If Frank is healthy, he won't be a sub.

    Neil Diamond

QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 08:52 AM) LOL.. yea it is. I know a few of his songs. I really didn't want to go tonight because we're gonna see him in Boston next week but I got veto'd.. I think you'll find you recognize more of his songs than you think you will. I don't know what you consider a good concert but I could sit and listen to Diamond if he was just sitting on a stool on stage and singing. No "show" necessary to entertain me.
  18. I was shocked that CSNY took so long to appear in this thread, until it was pointed out that they a couple of them were Canadien ... which leads me to another Canadien band... BTO. Another American Band that in their day could rock was the original Alice Cooper band.
  19. QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 08:32 AM) Don't they usually keep it around 32 to 35..? If that many ... sometimes they only call up one or two.
  20. QUOTE(heirdog @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 08:15 AM) As far as September call-ups, how many people will be on the active roster after September 1st? For some reason, I cannot recall. The entire 40 man roster CAN be there, but that is almost unheard of.
  21. QUOTE(winodj @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 07:23 AM) I think that smaller parks, weaker pitching and growing reliance on the longball did more to increase homerun production than the "clear" and the "cream." Those things have certainly contributed. However, I wouldn't come to the same conclusion you have: 1. Hank Aaron+ 755 R 2. Babe Ruth+* 714 L 3. Barry Bonds* 703 L 4. Willie Mays+ 660 R 5. Sammy Sosa 587 R 6. Frank Robinson+ 586 R 7. Mark McGwire 583 R 8. Harmon Killebrew+ 573 R 9. Rafael Palmeiro 569 L 10. Reggie Jackson+* 563 L Four active players in the top 10 in career HR. All of which are associated with steroids. Coincidence? I think not.
  22. QUOTE(3E8 @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 08:11 AM) The one inherent flaw: where do you put your 5th finger? Do you really want someone to answer that question?
