QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 6, 2005 -> 04:02 PM) You do.. did you happen to see the attendance for the last Tigers series... let me refresh your memory... near sold out. They blocked 500 LOWER DECK TICKETS for this. That is almost 2 ENTIRE outfield sections. And if that doesn't satisfy ya.. take a look on TM or call the Sox and check the avaliability of WEEKEND LOWER DECK tickets the rest of the season... they are over 90% capasity for EVERY weekend game and over 70% on most other days. And no.. nothing everyone does is perfect.. but they came to us and OFFERED to do something nice. Did they have to.. no. Sorry you can't go, but there's no reason to be an unapreciative jerk about it. I'm glad someone puts things in the proper perspective.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 11:38 AM) Both Brooks and Kurt said turnout's been kinda low, and mainly WSI people. Both are hoping it picks up. The lack of Soxtalk people might be attributed to two reasons. First, we have a Sox talk gathering planned for the Saturday game against the Yankees, which I have made plans to attend. Also, there wasn't much notice given before they decided to try and squeeze this in at the end of the year. We have a lot of out of towners here.

Should this even qualify as a thread? Nothing was said here. Nothing at all.

Chicago Blackhawks Offseason Bonanza Thread
YASNY replied to CWSGuy406's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
With the way the 'Hawks were dissed by Forsberg and Modano, I thought Khabibulin would bail out for sure. I was very shocked to see his signing. I'm hoping that this deal turns the fortunes of the Hawks around, and maybe other quality players decide to look towards Chicago. -
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 08:50 AM) thats like saying hes only mildly retarded. He's still retarded. :headshake

These guys have to write something or they won't get paid. Meaningless drivel.

Redandwhite obviously has a Red Sox bias. Which is perfectly acceptable. All of us have a White Sox bias, so we shouldn't get too upset when he speaks up for his favorite team. I know, this is a White Sox message msg board. Redandwhite is a White Sox fan, who just happens to be more of a Red Sox fan.

Considering the overall performance of the bullpen, I cannot understand how anybody can complain about Ozzie's bullpen management.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 08:08 AM) Judging by the past few weeks, it looks like Pods has lost the art of stealing. SI jinx?

QUOTE(Texsox @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 09:35 AM) I am wondering if a key big of asphalt, the new I69 project that would link Laredo with Canada is among the projects. There are a couple much needed roadways down by me. The area has been in the five fastest growing sreas for the past 10 years without much new road construction. But I69 is such a vulger name for a highway across this great land. It should be changed to something decent. :rolly

QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 03:57 AM) It's been my easiest boycott. I admire your dedication.

QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 12:32 AM) Damnit! On a personal note I'm still boycotting Coors in an attempt to bring down the Heritage foundation. Damn. If their beer didn't suck, I'd switch to Coor's today.

Williams is being charged with murder, as he should be. He took it too far when they ramped up interrogations. Way too far. This is not 'a policy issue' in my opinion.

I'm going to keep and open mind on Palmeiro until this all plays out. But, from what I know about this currently, I would say no to his HOF candidacy.

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 11:11 PM) Any chance Borchard didn't play cause he's about to get dealt for Burroughs? That was my first thought.
-
QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 05:45 PM) That stinks. Okay, so when would a Griffey be put on the waiver wire?? And if the player could only be on waivers for 3 days, then why isn't the waiver deadline the first 3 days of August or August 16th? There is no waiver deadline. This can go on till the end of the season. However, if a player is not on your roster by Aug 31, then he is ineligible for post season play. That works as kind of a deadline.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 01:43 PM) Excuse me while I go throw up :puke Than again, it should be well known that I can't stand Adkins. I hope he does well though and that the reason he stunk so much in Charlotte was because he was starting. Still, Its probably what the Sox would do, cause I'm guessing they'll stick with Brandon till September and let him continue working on what he's been doing. I didn't say it was an appealing option. It was a best guess at what would happen.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 01:34 PM) Most Likely Griffey can't play a corner OF position due to the condition of his legs. He will only be playing DH and some CF if we were some how able to swing a deal for him. Huh? Centerfielders have to cover more ground than corner outfielders.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 01:17 PM) Less time to catch flak from the fans in Cincy for the rest of the season. If you throw in the season in August, it looks better than if you throw in the season in July. The Reds are having a season? Since when?
-
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 01:00 PM) This would be total crap if he gets suspended. I think we all know he hit the batter intentionally, but at the same time no warnings had been issued. It just would go too far to suspend him. That said, it seems like every time a pitcher is ejected they end up getting about a 5 game suspension, so It will probably happen. I wonder if the Sox will call up someone to pitch during that suspension or if they'll just stick with the current rotation. Adkins get a fillin start.
-
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 01:03 PM) Can we put Anthrax on waivers and hope he gets claimed by the KC message boards? The Cub message board may claim him. I bet they'd like his GM style.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 12:39 PM) Do you think another team would block it before it reached the White Sox, or do you think it wont go down for another reason. I was in utter disbelief that Larry Walker ended up on the Cardinals last year, Im wondering if a similar situation could arise. Another team could block it. The Reds owner could quash it again. Who knows?

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 12:36 PM) I believe it. Steroids are not for teenagers, and shouldnt be used by them. Take whatever your selling elsewhere. Nobody here is buying. Nobody.
