  1. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 03:44 PM) It's just a lot of CS, though. It seems much worse since a good majority of them come in streaks. He must have 10 or 11 of those CS in the past month. He has. He's struggling with his jump right now. The only way he'll get it back is to keep on trying.
  2. QUOTE(sti3 @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 03:41 PM) It infuriated me. I will not soon forget the idiocy of this decision. How so? Elaborate, please.
  3. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 03:36 PM) Did anyone not like the decision to send Podsednik? An excellent win obviously, but you'd think you'd bunt him over to second with Pablo and leave it up to Everett and Konerko to get that insurance run in. That's what has worked for us all year. I'd bet that Scotty went on his own, though. I had no problem with it.
  4. Freddie was HUGE today. Where in the hell did the Yankees dig up Small? Wow, he was tough ... 4 to 5 innings of nothing but K's and pop ups.
  5. QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 03:33 PM) Actually he was referring to something him and I were discussing earlier. I don't think you were out of line... Mod. Thanks .. but as I reread my post, I could see how it could be taken in a manner I didn't intend.
  6. QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 03:29 PM) Yea.. I try not to do that in game threads. You're right ... that came across wrong. I was trying to end it. Sorry R&W ... didn't mean it the way it sounded.
  7. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 03:28 PM) I love how it's described on mlb.com... White Sox slide past Yanks and the overhead replay showed it was the right call....Don't make it sound as if the ump blew it. Yes it does, which is total bulls***. Juan was safe. No question.
  8. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 03:28 PM) 15 minute rule. I have my fun, and then I leave. So how about that stolen base by Podsednik? How about making that a 15 second rule.
  9. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 03:21 PM) I voted Count. He got the team back on track with an absolutely phenomenal outing after a tough loss. I have to agree with you. That series turned on Jose stepping up and pitching a helluva game.
  10. Damn if that wasn't a sweet sweet win. Uribe and Pods, after looking like s*** all game, come through in the 10th. Juan was hustling his ass off from the get go. HELL YEAH!!!!!
  11. What a great f***ing win!!!!! OK ... did you guys hear Steve Phillips in the 10th? Here's the situation. Crosby on first, 2 outs and the Sox up 2-1 .... Phillips says he'd steal with Crosby because Cano would LEAD OFF THE NEXT INNING!!!! Excuse me, but what a f***ing dumb ass!!!
  12. That winning run probably would have scored. Blum's glove, and Ozzie putting him in there, saved that game last night.
  13. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 09:26 AM) I wouldn't be the least bit surprised it you saw DL stints for Hermanson and Crede come September 1st, or even after this stretch of 15 games. Very good point, as that would make two more players eligible for the post season roster.
  14. QUOTE(beck72 @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 06:17 AM) Looking at BA, I noticed Brad Fullmer is listed on the Charlotte Knights roster. He hasn't been in any games there. I'm sure he's played somewhere in the minors but I haven't seen his name come up anywhere. Any one heard anything about what he's been doing this yr? I know last yr wasn't that good in Texas, hitting only .230. I don't know what he has left. But he doesn't see the type to help the sox this yr. I believed he's on the roster, but also on the DL.
  15. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 05:07 AM) Haigwood has been very, very impressive this season. Any chance he can supplant B-MAC as our top pitching prospect this year if he keeps dominating? Sure. Once BMac is the rotation in Chicago.
  16. QUOTE(Dam8610 @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 03:53 AM) Commit an error on an easy popup to LF with 2 outs after giving up 4 runs and then give up 6 more runs after that. That'll do it every time.
  17. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 04:41 AM) Agreed. If and when the sox clinch the division you'll probably see Bobby get some save opportunities, so he gets some experience doing it in the bigs and to give Dustin's back a break for the playoffs. Let him get a shot at a save in the Twinkie Dome. Twins are done anyway. But not Yankee Stadium.
  18. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 03:30 AM) BWAHAHAHA, he can come along with Derek Lowe if he wants. Anyways, Owens has been in the minors for pretty much just over a full season now. I think they'll want to see how he does in Charlotte next season, but he projects to be a 4th OF in the long - term, unless he can keep hitting. Anderson will be a September call - up, but the Sox can always call him up before then and use him in the playoffs. He could be used in the DH spot instead of Timo, and could also be used in the OF, instead of Timo. In my best William Shatner voice: Anderson can be used instead of Timo. BRILLIANT!
  19. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 03:46 AM) Than why not give Jenks a shot? he at least is not a mental midget like Marte. He said that he was gonna use him in pressure situations so use him. If I was in Ozzie's place, there is no way I give a rookie his first big league save opportunity as the visiting team in Yankee Stadium. That's just expecting too much from any kid.
  20. QUOTE(IndplsSoxFan @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 09:06 AM) I do like that Fisk was recognized, but I agree that with this team's history going back so far, a Shoeless Joe statue would be nice. I don't believe they will put up a status honoring a guy who is banned from baseball and so closely associated with the darkest hour of White Sox history.
  21. QUOTE(Wedge @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 08:50 AM) Alright, let's try this one: in the history of MLB, no team has had a 10 game in their league/division (whichever it was at the time) prior to the All-Star Break and went on to not win that respective league/division. The Sox had a 10+ game lead prior to the All-Star Break. There is no precedent for them not winning the division. Also, thank God that Oakland is now tied wtih Anaheim for the West's division lead. That's selective statistical analysis considering that teams have had 10+ game leads after the break and lost the lead.
  22. QUOTE(Colorado Sox Fan @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 05:22 PM) I have a 1991 Topps Fisk All Star and a 1989 Topps Fisk. You want them? I can drop them in the mail. Let me check, but I'm fairly sure I have those. The offer is much appreciated.
