If Frank has the surgery they are saying he'll be out 4-6 weeks. That means he'd more than likely be back in late August and we'd have a healthy, rested Frank Thomas for the September stretch drive ..... that's assuming we are still in the race at that point.

From what I understand, Ozzie was really going to chew some ass before they came back and won that game. In fact, he went off on them in the dugout. He did say that they lehargy they have shown recently will not be tolerated, as it has been in the past.

Ozzie and Coop need to put Alomar behind the plate for ELo's next start and tell him to force ELo to pitch inside all damn game. And use all 3 of those pitches. ELo might not have any respect for Burke and/or Davis, but he'll have it for Alomar.

Loaiza looked more like "Judy" today than JG has in quite some time. How many 2 out runs did they score of him. It was like he'd let up after retiring the first two batters. I don't know how many times I said "f***ing All Star" while watching that game, but it happened a lot.

Some lady in St. Louis last weekend, got hit by two different foul balls in the same game. Once in the neck early in the game, and then in the head during the 9th. Her boyfriend sure failed the "can you protect me" test.

I'm so thankful we didn't sign both Colon and Ponson. What a nightmare that would have been. And that's to mention nothing of the fact that you wouldn't be able to find a donut with 50 miles of the Cell.

I'd like to see Borchard in the lineup right now. And someone mentioned sending Burke down and got one of these: Burke almost cost us that game today with his defense. He was horrid in those first 2 innings.

I agree. It seems to me that Garland is generally, if slowly, improving. He's beginning to learn how to get over those mental lapses he's had in the past. He's not there yet, but he seems to be making strides.

You know, any 7 year old kid would be thrilled to get a HR ball hit by any major league ballplayer. If you don't want the ball, why not make some kids day? I don't understand this Cubbyish obsession with throwing the ball back.

The Beltran trade cost PK his all star slot. If Beltran was still with KC, he'd be their representative, not Harvey. Since he is, and I use the term loosely here, a firstbaseman, PK got bumped.

He brushed off that question. he stated that if he says "We need this", then that disrespects the players that are currently holding down that/those positions. He took the diplomatic way out of answering the question.

The last I checked, it was illegal to throw things on the field. Considering it's against the law, arrest should be consider a very possible consequence. Fascism, my ass.

It was good to see the turnout for the game today. I turned the game on and certainly that was one of the first things I noticed.

Clutch hitting by Timo, yes. But, it looked he dogged it on one flyball that went over his head out there. I don't know if he was daydreaming, misread it or what. But he should have had that ball. And Paulie! Wow. Good game by him. In his 2nd at bat, I think, he crushed one foul which sent the count to 0-2. The next pitch he went with it and politely deposited it into CF for and RBI single. Great piece of situational hitting.

I hope anybody that throws a ball back onto the field gets escorted from the park (probably necessary for their own safety) and arrested.

11/11. Staying put.

Supposedly they had an agreement to keep it out of the media. However, Maggs was always spouting off about this or that. Then they'd go ask KW and he'd say he wasn't talking about it. This went on for two months. Finally, Kenny spoke and now he's getting ripped for it. I don't get it.

This slump has to mariotti's fault. (I'm gonna start blaming him for everything. He's a perfect fall guy.)

I wonder, did those bats got shipped to Birmingham again?

I'm glad none of our hitters will be in the game. They all just need to get away from the ballpark during that 3 day break, and regroup.
