The one guy I've said we need, over and over, also is the type of guy you can count on to be a leader. Steve Finley. Brando said we need leadership on the field, and I totally agree with him. Finley is one guy that knows how to win. And on that level, I'd even take Robbie Alomar back for that very reason.

Maybe with s*** flying at him from all directions, mariotti will tuck tail and run .... right out of town.

The Sox should decide what their top dollar offer to Maggs will be, and put it on the table. If Maggs balks at it, send him to San Diego. Maybe they'll not make a run at Finley.

When the Sheets rumor first hit, I thought there might be a slight possibility. But he has been so damned awesome since then that I just can't see the Brewers moving him. Then, what Steff said at the time, in my mind, negated any hopes I had of us acquiring Sheets. Just like Johnson, it ain't happening.

We don't have a suitable replacement even close to big leagues. ARow might be part of the deal, along with a minor league pitcher.

Why would Atlanta want to do that? They would be trading him to get out from under that salary.
