    Is it just me

Beastly ... you're what... 15, 16 years old? And you ask a question about 14 year old girls. I see nothing wrong at all with that.
  2. I liked it so much that before the weekend is over, I'm going to make that picture my signature. Thanks.
  3. This will be my first and only comment on anything that has anything to do with the incident in question. cwsox, I'm glad you are back and I hope you can convince HSC to rejoin us as well.
  4. When Wilson Alverez was an up and coming young veteran pitcher with the Sox, he was a lazy pitcher. You could see it, game after game. However, now that his proverbial star has fallen, he might have a different attitude and be willing to throw the damn heat more often. That was one guy that used to frustrate the hell out of me.
  5. Soriano instead of an ageing Williams, NO f***ING WAY. You heard it here first. They are thinking about offering Soriano to KC for Carlos Beltran. No I didn't. I heard that the other day. Good try though. I know. I posted it in one of the World Series game threads. Game 3, I think.

The "next Loaiza" in my opinion will be Livan Herhandez. But, I won't argue the Wilson Alvarez possibility, either. That could happen.
  7. I agree. Trader Jack has got the Yankees down and now he wants to finish them off.
  8. Wells is no longer our problem. I don't care where he ends up, just not on the soutside.
  9. Oh, if you say something that someone disagrees with, you'll hear about it in here. In fact, you're pretty good at ball busting too.
  10. And therein lies the problem with Frank Thomas.
  11. If we trade Konerko and/or Ordonez, plus lose Thomas to free agency, we may need those 28, 29 homers that Jose can hit.
  12. I'm going to attempt to do what Rex did for the 1964 through 1969 series. 1964 - Yanks over Cards in 7 (iirc) I remember Ken Boyer hitting a grand slam to win one game 4-3. The Cards were down 3-0 when he hit it. 1965 - Dodgers over Twins ... This was thumping Twins team with Allison, Killebrew, Mincher, Battey, Oliva ... but was shut down by Koufax, Drysdale and company. 1966 - Orioles with FRobby, BRobby, Boog Powell was in this one and I think they beat LA. But I'm not sure. 1967 - Like 1964, a heart breaker year for ChiSox fans. Cards over RedSox. 1968 - Tigers over Cards in 7. McClain won 31 games that year, but Mickey Lolich won 3 games in the Series. Gibson K'd 17 batters in one game to set WS record which, I believe, still stands. 1969 - Amazing Mets over Orioles. That year is infamous in Chicago for some reason.
  13. Soriano instead of an ageing Williams, NO f***ING WAY. You heard it here first. They are thinking about offering Soriano to KC for Carlos Beltran.
  14. That's true, he was mentioned here. But, this is the first time I've seen his name mentioned by the media as far as him being considered by the Sox.
  15. I don't know the exact numbers, but FWIW, players have lost something like 9 out of the last 10 cases that have gone to arbitration. Very few go that route anymore. Most get a contract done, even if it is a one year deal. And Buehrle is not coming off of what you would call a stellar year.

Decent options? Cotts? Wright? Schno? OMFG....we will be as bad as last year. Let Cotts learn to throw a strike in the minors, let Wright operate out of the bullpen and let Schno stay in the BP too. If Gordon leaves, that is even more important. Get a #5 as a FA. The last time Kenny took a flyer on a #5, we got Loaiza. Go for someone like that, an experienced vet who has bounced aroudn the league but can get us 8-10 wins Your last sentence just described Shoney.

Did you forget about Jon Garland?
  18. We'll end up with 25 cases if ice packed seafood.
  19. From what I've read, KW has already called Everett .... and wished him well, wherever he ends up. He Gawn!
  20. He must have been schooled on how to deal with press by Donald Rumsfeld.
  21. He was resting them because it's a "getaway" game.
  22. That what happens at that end of the year to an old pitching staff. It may have just caught up with the Yankees.
