Jerry Manuel may have left something to be desired, but he wasn't all that bad. I know I've seen worse managers in a Sox uni. It is time for a change, but I wish JM future success. He did, as cwsox pointed, represent the Sox and the city with dignity and class.

I really find it disturbing, but not at all surprising, the "Huck Finn" is on that list. The reason it is being banned, of course, is all the references to "the n*****, Jim", the slave that was Huck's traveling companion. Twain was one of the greatest American authors of his, or any other, time. How can a portrayal of life along the Mississippi River in a pre-Civil War timeframe be accurately portrayed without including the fact that slavery existed and the racial attitudes that were held toward those slaves. It seems to me that if we ignore it, we will eventually forget it. Those that forget history and doomed to repeat it.

Oh.. a dips*** yesterday said to me.. "well, maybe next year we'll clinch for your birthday.." I was quick to tell him that if the Sox have another season like this next year I'm going to be ill. We should have clinched WEEKS ago. None of this waiting till the end of September s***! I'd settle for a clinch on Sept 25th next year.

i hope they installed an ice cutter on that boat.. gonna be hard to pull up to burnham harbor in late january early feburary without one...... What Are you talking about JM is a great Captain....look how he kept the White Sox sailing and afloat all the way to the...OH WAIT!!!! well with both jm and dj on there me thinks this is one boat that will not float for too long........ the odds are just too much against it....... maybe if they had a talanted crew.. oh wait a minute they did and left them at the other harbor.....
