  1. The ghetto wasteland of Arkansas apparently did not prepare Mr. Hunter for a pitch to the mouth.
  2. QUOTE(AssHatSoxFan @ Apr 26, 2007 -> 01:34 PM) yeah, he says not to have vendettas but then read his comments about schilling in the sock thread pot--> kettle---> black If you don't think the blood was fake, I'm not sure what planet your from. It was obvious the night he pitched. That has nothing to do with vendettas. The dude pitched 2 incredible games to get his team to, and help them win, the World Series for the first time in 86 years. He also did it on a really, really bad ankle that everybody knew about. That in itself is amazing, regardless of how I feel about him. Doesn't change how pathetic the fake blood was though. Oh, and Houston tonight got ZERO points from it's bench, ZERO points from starter Chuck Hayes, and a mere 17 from the combination of Rafer Alston (6) and Shane Battier (11). Not easy to win that way, and it's been a while since I saw an NBA team get 0 bench points in a playoff game. That is one UGLY series to watch, to say the least. And Orlando, wow did they get bad in a hurry since that hot start.

  4. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 26, 2007 -> 11:21 AM) So, question...does this mean that Rogowski was able to clear waivers and no one else had any interest in picking him up? I doubt we'd care if somebody even picked him up. He has no future beyond where he is now in our organization. Anyways, here comes Terrero.
  5. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Apr 26, 2007 -> 10:51 AM) That's why I'm glad SJax is no longer a Pacer. Was it the 30 points on 9 of 16 shooting you don't miss, or the 23 points on 9 of 18 in game 1? Or is it the fact Dirk has 37 points on 11 for 31 shooting the first 2 games, mostly with Jackson guarding him. Oh wait, he got kicked out in the 4th, so he has bad charcter. Notorious all league nice guy Baron Davis got kicked out too last night, FYI. Please, if your going to play Larry Bird here and be glad all the mean black guys are gone, that's fine. But wait for Jackson to actually have a bad game, or the Pacers to make the postseason or find a new coach to do it. Gosh, I hate when people have personal vendettas against a player.
  6. QUOTE(Craig Grebeck @ Apr 26, 2007 -> 08:37 AM) Way to stay classy. Hope you don't ever have to go through half the s*** Santo has. f*** off. The fact he has diabetes is not self induced and I wouldn't wish it on anybody. However, it's very well known than many of his unfortunate health issues in the last decade were due to poor lifestyle choices in his past and present just as much as they were his diabetes.
  7. In other big news today, Michael Jordan was a good basketball player, Bill Wirtz is a bad owner, and the Cubs suck. Come on, EVERYBODY knew that thing was fake, it couldn't have been more obvious it was fake when they zoomed in on the sock during the playoff game at Yankee Stadium. Just glad somebody is pointing it out, and nobody should be surprised a dickhead, attention whore like Schilling would fake it to get more attention. It's not enough he pitched great in the playoffs for 2 World Champs, he needs more.
  8. Fatty McFat is gonna be gone anyways I think. And I wouldn't mind if P.J. came back, but all signs are he will retire.
  9. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 10:33 PM) That covers a lot of territory so I can't agree. I can think back to those Frank-Maggs-Konerko-Lee-Valentin teams where AAA scrubs would routinely shut us down provided it was their first appearance against us (we're still sorta pathetic at this, BTW). 8 innings, 3 hits, almost no hard hit balls, and 9 k's against a 30 year old guy with a 6.31 ERA career and 10.50 ERA this season. I can't say I've seen worse. Maybe as bad, but not worse.
  10. That was honestly the worst offensive game I think I've ever seen us have, and I've been watching since 1993. When you consider who was pitching, just mind boggling. I'm not even counting that nonsense after nobody on, 2 outs in the 9th. Zumaya just handed us a near comeback, that is all it was. I just hope he's messed up for a while after that meltdown.
  11. That might have been the worst offensive performance I've ever seen us have as a Sox fan. And i'm not exaggerating, when you consider who was on the mound. Hopefully that Ankiel-esque meltdown by Zumaya after the DP affects him for a while though, that would be a plus out of tonight.
  12. 8 dominant innings from a guy that should be in AAA against us? I don't care who was hurt, that was shockingly bad. And of course, the cocktease 9th with all those walks and such handed to us before we lose. Every last player was useless tonight, first game all year I can say that about. At least Danks was ok after the 1st I guess?
  13. Ruben Brown and Fred Miller are both on their last legs, and I'm not a big Roberto Garza fan either.....so OL is a big need to me. Kruetz is outstanding and Tait is pretty good, so you should be ok at least at 2 spots for a while though.
  14. My guess is next year you see Thabo take Duhons rotation spot, and PJ is going to retire IMO, thus you'll see a lot more Tyrus. Of course, the Bulls have a pretty high lottery pick and a couple 2nd rounders too, so keep that in mind.
  15. What point does the tightening the shoulder capsule do if he has genetic looseness anyways? Also, "cleaning up the rotator cuff" sounds like "nothing was wrong with him, but we didn't want him to look bad" in Cub talk. What a wuss, I wonder if he ever pitches in more than 10 games in a season again.
  16. Just get 1 in Miami to come home 3-1 and it's over in 5. The Bulls are just too quick and deep, and Wade and Shaq aren't themselves.
  17. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 04:33 PM) Would drafting a LB in the top 60 picks be a result of the Briggs situation or just that they want to upgrade Hillenmyer's spot? I haven't really kept up with the draft -- even though ESPN has been shoving it down our throats the past fifteen months. Obviously the O-Line needs to start to infuse some younger talent. I'd imagine that Desmond Clark is going to start declining as he's getting older, so I like the TE idea. And since neither Benson nor Peterson are exactly 'burners', I like the faster, quicker RB idea too. Other than that? Perhaps grab a more reliable dime back? We seem okay on the defensive line, although grabbing another DT couldn't hurt with Tank's situation. On offense, they could use a wide receiver. They have two fast guys in Berrian and Bradley, how about a bigger more physical WR? Comments would be appreciated. I'll be lost in a sea of names this weekend. #1. Even if Briggs is back, it will be only for one year, and even with Briggs, the OLB depth is pretty much at zero. I would be shocked if one isn't drafted. #2. Yes, they could use a bigger reciever, which is why the name Dwyane Bowe keeps popping up. He's a pretty big target with plus speed for a guy his size. #3. I think they are fine at corner with Peanut, Vasher, and Manning. And I doubt they take a safety since they have drafted safties that helped each of the last 2 years already in Harris and Danieal Manning. #4. Another DT is needed IMO because Tank might be gone all year, Harris has questionable health, who knows about Dvoracek, and Boone and Scott left this offseason. #5. The Bears probably won't take a TE. They have a few other needs, and they figure they can get another good year out of Clark IMO, which is fair. Only way they take a TE is if they like Zach Miller more than I think. #6. Ben Grubbs, guard from Auburn, is a name EVERYBODY seems to have the Bears taking with the early 2nd rounder they got in the Jones trade. That would be a nice pick, and this team has an OLD O-Line that needs reinforcements and depth. #7. I think they are going to draft a RB to compliment Benson at some point in this draft for sure. The kid from Arizona and Jackson out of Nebraska are just my 2 favorite guys. This draft isn't deep with future stars, but you can find a change of pace burner that would go well with Cedric in the middle rounds IMO. Hope that helped.
  18. We could have lost all 5 games on this trip, but instead go 4-1 on a 5 game in division road trip. Outstanding stuff, lets keep it up tonight of whenever the hell the weather lets us play next.
  19. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 03:54 PM) bears take....................? I'll go with OLB Lawrence Timmons of FSU and G Ben Grubbs of Auburn with the first 2 picks. It's also possible TE Zach Miller might be somebody they go after instead of Timmons, and then try and get a system type OLB later on as Kalapse suggested. I would like to see them take a speedy back in the 3rd round, like Brandon Jackson of Nebraska or the kid from Arizona who's name is escaping me right now, to compliment Cedric Benson. Another D Tackle wouldn't hurt either, who knows with Tank, they lost a couple this offseason, Tommie had a bad injury, Dvoracek is a ?......so yeah. I still think they could really use another WR too, for that matter. The Bears have quite a few needs for a team that went to the Super Bowl IMO.
  20. My other question is why the hell would Comcast take both games tonight when they were probably damn well aware the Bulls could be in the playoffs and playing on the same night?
  21. He could put up unprecedented numbers if he stays hot all year. You simply can't pitch around him when you considering he has Abreu and Giambi protecting him, plus that lineup also has Jeter, Cano, Posada, Damon, etc. It's easy to say give him the Bonds treatment, but he doesn't have the Bonds lineup around him.
  22. Come on Kalapse, your argument, as Hawk would say, is a bit of a "STRETCH!!!" What a completely idiotic rule though, a couple bottles of bubbly gets you 3 years, cheating the game and yourself gets you 50 days? Psh.
  23. For all you fellow NIU students and/or Naperville/Aurora people......isn't TLN the channel whose TV studio building you can see off of 88?
  24. To compare troops and the Va. Tech victims at all is nuts. There is a difference between 32 murders in cold blood out of nowhere, and soliders who volunteered their services to their country dying in a war. However, the flags at Va. Tech aren't even at half staff anymore, so they shouldn't be across America either. Time to move on.
  25. He is so much better in the 2 hole, it's just a natural fit. I was shocked we actually moved him in the first place. He may have been a power hitter in Japan, but the way he plays and adjusts to pitching here makes him a natural #2 hitter. The other thing I like is he has 10 walks and only 4 k's in 49 at bats, and is 2 for 2 in steals. Hopefully that improved discipline continues.
