  1. Shocking news, and obviously a big loss since as Frank would tell you, he's better and less injury prone than Thome.
  2. QUOTE(Felix @ May 12, 2006 -> 11:36 AM) He got put on the 15-day DL, so it'll be 2 weeks They overreacted. Haha I would assume you could. That would be awesome.
  3. Hmm ok well if it's a team option through '07, he's not going anywhere. If it were a player option and we showed interest, I guess it's possible he'd come back..... I just want to give Brian a chance, he has too much potential to give up on, as solid a player as Rowand already is. And remember, Crash went through A LOT of struggles at first too.
  4. An absolute spectacular catch, IMO the best one I've ever seen him make period. Knowing Crash, he'll be back in a week or so, dude is like a hockey player.
  5. If Brian Anderson can hit in the .265 to .280 range (which he will eventually) he's a better player than Aaron Rowand. So unless Anderson flames out and never develops, no thanks. Aaron is a great guy to root for, but I hope he enjoys Philly. And I think he's signed through 2007 btw, and no way Philly trades him.
  6. I don't care who uses it, I didn't make that thing, lol. My friend actually emailed it to me and I just resized it and such and put it in my photobucket, not sure where it started.
  7. This is the problem with an extremist government. If the republicans have control, you get this s***, if the democrats gain control, you will see other kinds of sick s***. The death of moderate political thought in BOTH parties in America is a bigger problem than people think.
  8. Canes 3-0 doesn't surprise me a bit, I thought the Devils were due to really cool off, plus the Canes are really hitting stride right now. As for Sens down 3-0....I enjoy watching the Sabres, but for them to figure out a way to be up 3-0 right now shocks me.
  9. Bobby Jenks has blown 1 save all year....and considering K Rod was in with the lead as it was, IMO if we had to have a bullpen collapse, last night was the time for it. We can still win the series today (if the stadium doesn't float away in floodwaters) and we have the best record in baseball. The team weakness is the bullpen, but our rotation is great, Jose is only missing 1 more start, and YOU KNOW Kenny will get some help for the bullpen if we need it as much as we think. Plus Jeff Nelson will help as it is when he's ready IMO. As soon as Ozzie figures out these bullpen roles (Jenks should START innings in SAVE SITUATIONS only, don't f***ing go nuts over lefty/right), we'll be more than fine. Hell, we are fine already. I guess my point is, this isn't the pre 2005 White Sox......so there is no need to freak out and expect failure, because we don't have 88 years of failure and bad history to b**** about anymore. Remember, we have the best record in the game, and are the defending champs. That is all. (Waits for rational fans to praise me, and for the crazy bipolar fans to call me an idiot and put words in my mouth).
  10. No wonder he loved SF so much and hates Chicago, this is ridiculous. http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c...SPGQDIOVLC1.DTL Now I hate to defend Cubs fans, but this piece is complete garbage.
  11. I like it except for the fact you lose Gomes....Gomes is a guy that walks a lot and has 40/100 ability at the dish IMO....
  12. The Indians have enough offense to give us a race, but no way they beat us unless we suffer a ton of injuries, as their pitching staff just blows and has no depth at all. They have a few really good guys yes, but then a bunch of steaming poop.
  13. Ok now, everybody all at once!! JOE!!!!!! CREDE!!!!!!!!!!!! is not a free agent after this year
  14. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 10, 2006 -> 09:30 AM) It really would be. I'm not getting my hopes up though, I really believe Dustin is done. God, I hope I'm wrong. Same here, but he's a tough guy and I do have hope he might come back. Let's hope we are wrong.
  15. Hopefully this is our own little mini trade deadline type pickup. Getting Hermanson back in August would be spectacular.
  16. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ May 10, 2006 -> 08:36 AM) I agree. I think this Mavs team is legit this year. I'm pulling for them, and would not be surprised to see the Spurs make it into the Finals this year. Avery is a wonderful coach, and I really like the players on their team (Howard, Harris, Nowitzki, Daniels). They are definitely the team I'm pulling for to win it all with the Bulls gone.
  17. It was between KU and Baylor, and with the way Baylor is recruiting, that made it a tougher battle than you'd think. But congrats Jimbo, he's a fine player.
  18. Ozzieball to me is pretty simple: 1. Show confidence in all your players, use all your players, and make them all into useful pieces that help the team. All 25 of them. 2. Be willing to adjust in game to game situations by what is going on and what it will take to win the game. That means bunt if it's 1-1, go for the 3 run homer if it's 7-6, and hustle your ass off no matter what.
  19. It feels better than teh best Sox rule everybody sucks else, woooo GO GO WHITE SOX
  20. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 10, 2006 -> 08:26 AM) Of that list, who will be above .300 in late Sept. ?? Good question. Not sure who exactly will hit .300, but they all are capable of doing it, a few will, and they will all hit at least .280 IMO.
  21. QUOTE(SoxAce @ May 10, 2006 -> 02:17 AM) You got to be kidding me. And don't even bring age into that conversation cause Bynum was born the same year as Koronka (1980) Your a smart poster wsf101 (one of the better ones here) but your way off base on this one. Does Koronka suck?? Haha probably, but you don't trade a 25 year old lefty pitcher who obviously at least has SOME ability for a 2nd basemen (even if he's only 25 as well) when you already have a few on the roster. Just my opinion though.
  22. The interesting thing is that, although still a very big dude, Thome looks about 10 pounds lighter than he did even during his prime IMO. That workout regime he does is obviously working and keeping him in shape, and the DH thing is obviously keeping him fresh. I read an article about his workout regime recently and it's pretty intense, so I'd say Herm deserves some credit as well.
  23. The chicks at the game last weekend I believe it was with the "nothing beats a night of SOX" sign was pretty clever I thought. But if your looking for a really good line, just listen to archives of Coop talking somewhere, that dude is just hilarious.
  24. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 9, 2006 -> 10:07 PM) You're overrating Koronka. He's had a couple of nice starts. He's not very good, and should revert to his suck-ness sooner rather than later. Even if correct, giving up a 25 year old lefty who obviously had some potential for some toolsy bum named Bynum who plays a position you already have system overload at is flat out stupid. Oh, and that ball would have been 714 if Pierre didn't get it. He wasn't as high up as Pods or anything, but it was heading out.
