  1. 1) Why? 2) With what trading chips?
  2. To answer the question posed at the beginning of the thread: Slim and none, but slim just left town.

  4. The only way I'd be happier with a sweep of the ScRubs is if it came in the playoffs. Otherwise, give me a sweep of an AL Central team, especially if that team is Detroit the way they're going right now.
  5. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 13, 2006 -> 10:38 PM) Silva Nice. I like that matchup.
  6. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ May 13, 2006 -> 09:04 PM) It didn't come into play tonight but after looking at the ERA's of our relievers, damn, we need bullpen help. As has been said many times before, ERA for releivers can be deceiving.
  7. Well, this season is over. Obviously the Tigers aren't going anywhere, and the Sox are playing horrible. Time to pack it in.
  8. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ May 11, 2006 -> 09:07 PM) There were a couple of us in the chat tonite playing around with all of the sounds, colors, fonts, and away messages. I had no problems. Its going to take the chat to a new level Did the chat have a ranch tooth sound effect? That would be awesome.
  9. QUOTE(rangercal @ May 10, 2006 -> 02:45 PM) What does Charlie have to do during his stint to stay up, if anything? Who would he replace eventually? Just posting this in advance, because everybody else will if he pitches a gem tonight. I don't think he has a chance to stay up at this point. If Contreras requires more time on the DL, McCarthy will be put into the rotation, and the Sox will have to call up a MR (Lopez or maybe Tracey?).
  10. They've got it backwards. Mr. Incredible is Jim Thome. After all, Thome was there first.
  11. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ May 10, 2006 -> 02:45 PM) In 2004, Ben Sheets had the 5th best Strikeout-To-Walk ratio in major league history. 1. Curt Schilling 313 to 33 (2002) 2. Pedro Martinez 284 to 32 (2000) 3. Greg Maddux 177 to 20 (1997) 4. Pedro Martinez 313 to 37 (1999) 5. Ben Sheets 264 to 32 (2004) How many games did Ben Sheets win that year? 12. How well would he have done in that retarded Cy Young predictor system? Not too well. How well did he do in the Cy Young voting? Not too well. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ May 10, 2006 -> 02:45 PM) Wins are a team statistic, and meanwhile, these ESPN nerds think that they're the most important pitching statistic. Good God. I will always point to Ben Sheets as Exhibit A, and Randy Johnson to a lesser extent (16-14 in 2004 w/ the 9th best K-to-BB ratio in MLB history) The reason they put a heavy weight on wins in their formula is because the voters do the same. Anyone who knows anything about baseball knows that that's a stupid way to do things, but it's still the way they do it.
  12. QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ May 10, 2006 -> 11:49 AM) they should be rested and ready to work four innings as a group. McCarthy should be ready to work four innings given how little he's worked recently.

  14. QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 6, 2006 -> 07:30 PM) Puh, what kind of baseball player puts a daughter before his team.....he needs to rethink his priorities.... How could you say such a thing? What a horrible thing to say!

  16. I meant AAA, but it'd be interesting to see him in the show this year.
  17. Does anyone think he could get a call-up at the ASB if he keeps it up? He's been lights out up to this point, and it looks like he might be ready for the next level.

  19. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 1, 2006 -> 04:54 PM) White: 9-2 Gray : 0-3 Black: 8-2 I knew there was a reason I didn't like the gray jerseys. I say dump 'em.
  20. As a Colts fan, I have to say that the Texnas made the right decision. As an observer of football, I have to say the Texans made the wrong decision.
  21. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 28, 2006 -> 12:11 AM) I actaully dont beleive that,but whatever. Why don't you believe that?
  22. QUOTE(Felix @ Apr 27, 2006 -> 11:43 PM) Well, I consider myself a fan of both the White Sox and Cubs. I support the White Sox first and foremost while following them much more, but if they aren't playing, I support the Cubs. I'd rather see Chicago have success than another city anyday of the week. If that makes me not a fan in your eyes, so be it. I simply can't understand how you could want the Cubs to have success. Let's forget the rivalry for a moment. You're a Sox fan first and foremost, right? I would assume that would mean that you want to see the Sox succeed the most. Usually, the more revenue a team generates, the more successful that team will be. Guess which team is the main competition for any revenue the White Sox could possibly get? That would be the Cubs. Since the Cubs are the main competition for the thing that can make the White Sox more successful, and the better the Cubs do, the more of it they will get, it would logically follow that you (being a White Sox fan) would want the revenue that the Cubs take in to be at a minimum, so that the Sox can maximize the revenue they bring in, since the two teams are in direct competition for basically the same revenues. The Cubs revenue should be minimized when they are losing a lot. Therefore, as a Sox fan, you would want them to lose.
