Lance Broadway's 2006 Year to Date stats at AA Birmingham: 0-0 0.00 ERA 1 G 1 GS 0 CG 0 SHO 6.0 IP 4 H 1 R 0 ER 0 HR 0 BB 10 K 0.67 WHIP 15.00 K/9 I know he threw a 4 seam fastball in the low 90s, a really good 2 seamer, and a sharp curve last year when he was drafted, but beyond that, I can't give much info as to what he's been working on. Maybe someone who watches the Barons could help me out with that?

QUOTE(mr_genius @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 09:45 PM) whatever, this season is obviously already swirling down the drain. boo I'm with you, as you can tell by my thread that got locked earlier. boo

QUOTE(G&T @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 10:03 PM) Good for them. The Sox had better teams than the Twins and look where that got them. Good point. They can be called the "better team", as long as the Sox get the results.

It's a well written article, but I disagree with the main point. The author was going in the right direction when he was talking about the effects of a postseason run IMO.

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 03:39 PM) All that was needed was a choke avatar... This is much better than a choke avatar, plus I don't have to ruin my avatar this way.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 03:18 PM) Best thing you have posted on this site yet. Congrats. Why should I care what you think again? QUOTE(Felix @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 03:28 PM) I'm really scared at some of the replies in this thread. I think they took it seriously.. I knew some would. That's part of what makes it funny.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 01:59 AM) Now there's a well thought out, unemotional post if I ever saw one. Gotcha. QUOTE(Timoperezrulez @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 08:38 AM) dumbass... you too... QUOTE(Whitewashed in '05 @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 12:15 PM) .... This guy got it. (I think) QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 04:22 PM) This dumbass thread needs to be closed. Dam is an asshat for even starting it. Why is that? Because I wanted to touch off a debate and get a good laugh at the same time? If that makes me an "asshat", then I guess that's what I am. QUOTE(Soxfest @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 06:12 PM) Overreaction 101 .........5 games and blow it up, do not get splinters in your ass jumping on and off the bandwagon when they win 8 to 9 in a row! Yet another victim... QUOTE(TheBigHurt @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 06:50 PM) A-f***ing-men. The fact that some people take this topic seriously is sad. I agree. QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 07:33 PM) When you sober up, repost your thoughts. Yes it sucks we lost 4 ina row now, but we can quickly turn it around, we play the Tigers after the Royals and we need to take that series or sweep. And another victim... QUOTE(Felix @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 07:35 PM) Here you go This one really made me laugh. QUOTE(pale_hose @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 07:52 PM) you're an idiot... And finally, another victim... I wanted to point out how ridiculous attitudes about a losing streak get around here sometimes, while getting a laugh out of those who took me seriously. I think I accomplished my goal.

They look horrible! They can't even beat Kansas City. There's no point in even trying to salvage this season because the pitching staff has obviously declined drastically, and the hitting will never be able to pick up the slack. There's no way this team is going to win the division, so it may as well be blown up and dealt away for as much young talent as possible.

QUOTE(rangercal @ Apr 6, 2006 -> 11:45 PM) if you were very pleased with him as a 2nd round selection in one league, why would you release him in the other? Obviously the league where he was a 2nd round selection was a 250 team league.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 6, 2006 -> 05:32 PM) Based on the 2005 records of their opponents, the Bears have the easiest schedule in the NFL in 2006. A lot of that is your division, which sucks. Remember, your division opponents all have the 11-5 Bears on their schedule twice, which is a big part of why their schedules will show up as more difficult based on winning percentage. You do have a first place schedule, but that's not saying much in the NFC.

QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Apr 3, 2006 -> 11:28 PM) Garcia isn't going anywhere as long as Ozzie is around. Garcia is under rated in my opinion. I see a big year out of him. Anybody remember what he did in the playoffs? Notably Game 4 of the World Series? How about the near perfect game against Santana? That was one of the best pitched games by a Sox pitcher last year IMO.

QUOTE(mr_genius @ Apr 3, 2006 -> 11:22 PM) oh, he can't help himself (too greedy). he'll also probably try to drive in a bunch of runs when players are on base, what an ass. What a greedy jerk! I'll bet he'll even try to score runs when he's on base. That's just plain arrogant and selfish!

Is McCarthy throwing a screwball? During the game last night, there were 3-4 times where he threw an offspeed pitch (about 77 MPH on ESPN's gun) that had 2-seam break on them. Is this a variation of his change, or is he actually throwing a screwball?

Gamethread 3/29: White Sox vs. Brewers
Dam8610 replied to SouthsideBlitz's topic in 2006 Season in Review
QUOTE(Felix @ Mar 29, 2006 -> 05:20 PM) Its one outing people. Lets see if he can do it for an entire season, then get giddy over how Coop is magic. Actually, I think it's two consecutive outings, and what's wrong with being happy that he's starting to show improvement? -
For some reason, I couldn't see it on IE earlier. It wouldn't load for some reason. I even tried pasting the URL into it's own window and it didn't work. I see it now though. I even put it in my sig.

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Mar 27, 2006 -> 08:36 PM) If only the Espn "experts" work in the printed word so that I could have something to wipe my ass with. ESPN the Magazine.

Holmes and Maroney are high. Cromartie and D. Williams are low. That's if they're basing it on talent though.

Game Thread: Sox versus Cubs, 3/27/06, 2:00 PM
Dam8610 replied to Gregory Pratt's topic in 2006 Season in Review
QUOTE(AbeFroman @ Mar 27, 2006 -> 05:41 PM) Actually, it can never be worse than that slide we had in september... go back and read those game threads. Those were some depressing threads. Just to clarify, that wasn't a "slide", that was a "35 game period where Cleveland played .800 ball". -
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Mar 26, 2006 -> 11:47 PM) When you're down 2 with 3 seconds left in the 4th quarter while you're on the 27 yardline? I don't think so. At that point, it's Vandershank for the loss.
-
Good riddance.
-
QUOTE(YASNY @ Mar 21, 2006 -> 02:28 PM) Fixed that for you. You forgot Freddy Garcia.
-
QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Mar 22, 2006 -> 02:33 PM) It's possible the Colts and Patriots are just switching kickers. I believe I heard something about the Patriots being interested in Vanderjagt. That would be hilarious, because you know that somewhere along the line, Vanderjagt would cost them an important game. It's a question of when, not if.
-
QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Mar 22, 2006 -> 01:25 AM) Well I have the Falcons, and they just traded the 15th overall pick to Denver in the Abraham trade. But you didn't, meaning you're up if picks 1-14 have been made.

The official Soxtalk 2006 predictions thread
Dam8610 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
173-0. The Indians provide a September scare, not losing ground for the entire month, thus launching Soxtalk into panic mode (yes, the choke avatars will be seen again), but giving the Sox the momentum they need to go 11-0 in the postseason. Okay, back to reality. I think the Sox will win 90-100 games and the Central division. The 5 starters will all win at least 14 games. The bullpen will be shakier than last year, but will still shut teams down when it counts. The addition of Thome will provide a spark to the Sox offense, moving it from bottom of the league in production to the middle or maybe even near the top of the league in production. I might post some predicted statlines later. -
Finally a kicker who can hit a FG in the clutch. Don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way out Mike. For those of you who don't know, Vanderjagt is a UFA.
