there were rumors today that the Twins were looking at Alfonso Soriano for some offense Im all for that, even though Im not a big Soriano fan. He is better than Boone. Hell I might be better than Boone but they wont do it because he is arbitration eligible and will demand 10 mill next year and Twightwad Pohlad wont pay for offense (or anybody really)

ALBION, N.Y. - It might be one of the more unusual aces in the history of golf, and it won Gene Raymond a new car. Raymond was playing in a charity tournament at Hickory Ridge County Club in Orleans County when his tee shot from the 18th hole hooked left into some trees. Raymond, 66, figured he was looking at a tough shot out of the woods. But when Raymond and his partner got to the green, they found Raymond's ball in the hole. Witnesses told the men that Raymond's shot hit a tree and ricocheted across the green into the hole. Last month's hole-in-one, the first in the tournament's 26 years, won Raymond and his wife a 2005 Buick LaCrosse worth $30,000. They picked up the vehicle this week. Raymond, who works for a Rochester car dealership, says he plays golf about once a week. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20050723/ap_on_...HNlYwMlJVRPUCUl

I dont get a chance to watch the 9pm BBTN. And the 11 oclock one doesnt show highlights from everygame. SportsCenter does that once in a while too. It pisses me off. I wish Fox would have their higlight show still, at least give ESPN some competition.

from the StarTrib Deadline approaches The next week and a half, before the July 31 deadline for trades without waivers, promises to be a busy one for Twins General Manager Terry Ryan, who wants to upgrade the offense at third base or designated hitter. "It's a difficult thing to handicap," Ryan said. "You don't know if you are going to be able to match up with someone. Sometimes you think you may have something going, then you have it disintegrate." Ryan wouldn't comment on possible deals, but other Twins personnel confirmed earlier in the week that the Boston Red Sox have shown interest in lefthander J.C. Romero, possibly for third baseman Bill Mueller. The South Florida Sun-Sentinel is reporting in today's editions that a three-way deal among the Twins, Marlins and Red Sox was scuttled Wednesday, although the Boston Globe reported it was still alive. In the deal, the Twins would have gotten Mueller and prospects for sending pitcher Joe Mays to the Marlins and Romero to Boston. The Red Sox would have picked up pitcher A.J. Burnett and third baseman Mike Lowell from the Marlins, and Florida would have gotten pitcher Bronson Arroyo from Boston. Twins officials denied that such a deal had been in the works. http://www.startribune.com/stories/509/5517694.html

lol. nice on the pregame show on the radio today, Gardy said he stepped over the line last night and went down and apologized to the umps -
rumor--- Here's what's moving through the Twins' grapevine these days: The Red Sox have called the Twins looking for pitching. Boston is believed to be interested in lefthander J.C. Romero, who could help stabilize a bullpen that had a 5.51 ERA entering Monday -- the second-highest in the American League. The Twins, of course, are looking for hitting, and the Red Sox might be willing to deal veteran third baseman Bill Mueller, who is batting .277 with four homers, 36 RBI and a .379 on-base percentage. Mueller was the 2003 AL batting champion when he hit .326 with 19 homers and 85 RBI. Those numbers fell to .283, 12 and 57 last year. He is making $2.5 million and will be a free agent after the season. First baseman-outfielder Kevin Millar also is available, although he indicated to Boston reporters he would prefer to stay with the World Series champions http://www.startribune.com/stories/509/5513393.html

the only reason he was still on teh team is because he turns the double play as fast as anyone in the league. he is a terrible hitter and doesnt really hustle -
It was a pretty good series the past weekend, and for hte year. All the games had the closer getting a save (too bad K-Rod got more) and all the games except for the first one had a 1 run margain I still hate Bret Boone
