  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 1, 2008 -> 09:05 PM) Wade has impressive control on his fastball. Get Fukudome out here! Ask and you shall receive!
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 1, 2008 -> 08:55 PM) Wade shouldn't be warming up. Should be Broxton/Saito the rest of the way. Do they try for a 7th from Lowe?
  3. Getting ahead of myself here, but just imagine the LOLz if we steal game 1 w/ Javy and the Cubs start down 0-1 or even 0-2 by tomrrow night. Wow!
  4. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 1, 2008 -> 08:48 PM) Was I the only one that thought that was gone? Whew. No, I def was worried too. As fathom said above, looked eerily similar to Derosa's HR. Glad it wasn't
  5. Come on Lowe, get through this inning unscathed.
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 1, 2008 -> 10:54 AM) I think it's closer to a 3.5 man rotation. Because if we get this to game 5, Mark Buehrle is on normal rest, Javy would be on an extra day rest. And given the choice, Buehrle gets that ball. To me, this is the key. If we split 1-1 in Tampa, we are in GREAT shape. I can't see us losing both at home w/ Floyd & Danks both on normal rest. Worst case scenario, we'd have Mark going on full rest in Game 5. I really think we win the series, whether it be in 4 or 5, if we get 1 win in the first 2 at Tampa.
  7. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Sep 30, 2008 -> 10:26 PM) I'd give the Rays a 55%-45% advantage. It'll be close. Of course I'm biased, but I like our chances. If we split the first two, I really like our chances. Either win both home games w/ the 2 kids on normal rest, or if need be, go w/ MB in game 5. YES!
  8. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Sep 30, 2008 -> 09:12 PM) Danks was an ace tonite. Considering the situation, the numbers of many of the Twins against Danks, and the overall instensity of the night, Danks was a number 1 starter tonite. Honestly I have a good feeling going into the playoffs. Me too...I really think we'll split in Tampa, win both home games, and go on to the ALCS. Who knows what can happen from there. This is so awesome!
  9. I voted ESPN2, but only b/c I'm not sure if MLB.TV will be available today. Does anyone know if we can watch on MLB.TV w/o buying a special extra account or anything? Thanks
  10. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Sep 25, 2008 -> 01:33 AM) Thats about the longest limb I've ever seen. That's what she said
  11. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 04:09 PM) To be in, you need to change your avatars. Ooops, my bad. I tried but it didn't work. I'm good now tho
  12. QUOTE (LVSoxFan @ Sep 14, 2008 -> 04:13 PM) Have you ever heard DJ do a game on FOX? It was like night and day; he's not bad at all when freed from Hawk hell. Bingo DJ & Stone would've been awesome. This blows
  13. QUOTE (tommy @ Sep 13, 2008 -> 04:14 PM) Javy was suppose to go on short rest today, but he gets an extra day off, so does Danks. Yeah I know, but I'm just worried about how this is playing out beyond that.
  14. I read the plan was Javy and Broadway for today w/ Danks tomorrow night. Now what is our plan? We're going to need 6 games in the next 5 days (in theory), so how the hell are we doing that? It seems like pitching Broadway and Richard in the stretch has to happen, or someone on short rest. This is getting ugly.
  15. QUOTE (knightni @ Sep 13, 2008 -> 01:35 PM) http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/news/press...sp&c_id=cws Very awesome of JD. Truly a super guy and a great humanitarian. I voted for him...awesome! Cheers JD
  16. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 13, 2008 -> 02:43 PM) What a mess. Sox are headed to NY on Monday. Don't storm cells usually travel East like this? Yes. I live in NYC and our weather often mirrors Chicago's about 1 day to 1.5 days later.
  17. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 27, 2008 -> 04:47 PM) Also, 5th starter for next year should be a question mark as well. My Vote: Bobby Jenks returns to his roots as a starter. It won't be once the season starts. Kenny always gives us a solid 1-5 since our title year. Either he'll decide one of our other kids is ready, or make a move. Can't see that making sense w/ Jenks personally. Why mess w/ his great run as closer?
  18. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Aug 27, 2008 -> 03:35 PM) By pitching Richard Monday instead of Floyd who would have been on a normal 4 days rest, Richard will face Boston Sunday unless they flip him and Floyd (who will also have 4 days rest by Sunday) then Richard will face Cleveland next week. I'd rather have Floyd more rested to face Boston than Baltimore but he Sox usually do not skip or push guys back. I didn't get that either...I expected Floyd Mon on normal rest, but hopefully they have the sense to throw him in Boston on Sunday (also on normal rest)
  19. I did a quick look at our remaining schedule, and it seems that we can avoid pitching our #5 against Boston (Gavin on normal rest Sunday), vs. L.A. and at New York. The one bad game that I came up w/ is possibly @ MN - Not sure if there is a way around that w/o doing someone on short rest. Am I right about this? It seems like the #5 will face Cleveland, Toronto, KC, and MN as the schedule currently sits.
  20. SI.com reports that the Tigers have signed free agent Freddy Garcia to a minor league contract. Garcia hasn't pitched since last June following shoulder surgery and reportedly wasn't especially impressive while working out for a dozen teams earlier this month, but the Tigers could certainly use the pitching help as much as any contending team. He'll report to Single-A for what figures to be at least a couple starts before potentially joining the Detroit staff, but don't expect any fantasy value this season. Source: SI.com
  21. QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Aug 11, 2008 -> 03:58 PM) Twins/Sox @ Tampa A division title means we DONT have to play the Angels in the first round. If we make the playoffs we HAVE to win the division. Definitely Agreed. Tampa has had a nice season and is tough at home, but I'll take my chances w/ them in Round 1 as opposed to playing LA, who has just been murdering people as of late.
  22. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Aug 9, 2008 -> 08:05 PM) Well he had a 2.00 WHIP that inning... Those hits were both just smoked
  23. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Aug 9, 2008 -> 07:56 PM) Are we now convinced that Carrasco has got nothing tonight? Also, Livan is Coors Field, it will be like 12-inch softball home run derby. Yeah, that was terrible...
  24. QUOTE (tommy @ Aug 9, 2008 -> 07:45 PM) I think it was way to early to say Jose had his April stuff. He got out of first inning on 22 pitches and it didn't seem he was getting better as the game went on. April might be going to far, but I definitely thought he looked pretty damn solid
