7/01 GT: Tex vs CWS, 1:10 pm
i hate to keep pointing it out but that is yet another player anderson rounds off, catches off to the side, and throws on the run. STOP IT. Set your f***ing feet. Catch the ball under belly button. Reset your feet and throw. Know who is running. He had him by 15 feet. One time out of 20 he throws that ball away or misses it because of poor fundamentals. On a play a MLB SS needs to make 99.9% of the time, not 95%.

QUOTE (maxjusttyped @ Jul 1, 2017 -> 03:49 PM) I'd say Narvaez has the best plate discipline. The fact he can have 1/1 K/BB rates despite having 0 power is very impressive. True, that said, Yolmer can actually hit as well as work a count, at least moreso than Narvaez.

Yolmer Sanchez is probably our most patient hitter. That's something.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 1, 2017 -> 03:43 PM) Davidson having quite the struggle making contact on this home stand He looked pretty defeated there. Not sure if that was a strike though, looked inside.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 1, 2017 -> 03:12 PM) Someone on the Sox made a bad play and now he is the worst defender to ever put on a uniform. Let's simmer down now He's like -40 fRAA as a Sox. I mean, he's a f***ing butcher. He makes Avi look like prime Mike Cameron.

I'm so ready to see some youth called up in the pitching staff. Hopefully in the next couple weeks we see Reynaldo. I'd rather see him go 5 innings than some washed up 5th starter.

QUOTE (maxjusttyped @ Jul 1, 2017 -> 02:48 PM) Sort of feel like it flies under the radar how awful Melky is. People constantly rag on Frazier even though he's a **significantly** better player. You're right about that. Melky seems like a hard worker and a fun team mate but his value 1 WAR because of his awful defense. I have no idea how this guy ever played CF. Youth I guess.

QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Jul 1, 2017 -> 02:22 PM) excellent tag plays by Sanchez on back-to-back days. Just sayin. Yolmer is the man. I'm so happy for him and his family. He's established himself as a 10 year utility guy if nothing else. Hopefully he can turn into a solid regular.

A good 1B makes that play so much easier. Konerko would have made the adjustment with his feet much smoother. Jose is down to -8 runs at 1B this year. I think the DH penalty on fangraphs is about 10 runs. So find someone that can f***ing not be -10 runs at 1B and make Jose a DH next year please.

Anderson made that play without any hassle but FFS dude start using good fundamentals. He catches the ball off his left foot way too often. I'm as high on TA as anybody defensively as he has everything you can't teach, including "go get the ball" instincts, but fundamentally he's a disaster this year.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 1, 2017 -> 07:16 AM) We won yesterday to make it two in a row. If we win today, it's called a winning streak, it has happened before!

Yes, hell yes! This team deserved a walkoff, glad to see it. Can't lose every game. Couldn't have happened to a better guy as well!

QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 30, 2017 -> 08:25 PM) That is not how I'll choose to rember Beltre lol, that is quintessential Beltre though. The man is not afraid to look the fool. It's part of his charm. I love the dude, one of my favorite players.

LaRoche quit ADD med because of "addiction"
QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 30, 2017 -> 07:42 PM) Dude needs the extended release if the stress of it running out in the middle of the day was bothering him I had a family member get addicted to adderol. It was horrifying. I think it's vastly over subscribed as a fix for ADD. La Roche is right on this one.

6/30 Games
QUOTE (MnSoxFan @ Jun 30, 2017 -> 04:01 PM) Robert was 0-2 with a BB and 2 more HBP (that makes 5 this week, need to get him out of there before they break his hand or something, cripes). Also threw out a baserunner at home plate. I bet the typical DSL pitcher is just throwing hard as s*** in case they catch a radar gun wielding scout's attention that day. Who cares where it goes at that level. I realize that the plan they had for him probably helped get him to sign (Staying in the DR for tax purposes) but I'd like to get him up to Great Falls later in the year. Probably won't happen but I can hope. I don't think he's really gaining much if anything facing that level of competition. That said, it's certainly a positive that after not playing organized ball for a year he's come out and acquitted himself just fine.

Its tough being a tall pitcher
Sorry to derail the thread, I understand the mechanics I'm just too lazy to do the math or google someone who has. Which makes no sense I realize as I've already spent more time than that would take responding in this thread. Anyways, carry on. Some great explanations of Super 2 for those not in the know that were linked.

Quintana
I just dropped in and I see Kyle Schwarber is being targeted again? Come on. The Cubs are not going to sell rock bottom on him and frankly that's the only way I'd take him. He's looking like a 2 WAR player at best. His bat is not going to carry the rest of his flaws. He and Avi are similar except Avi can actually run.

Hey S2k5, someone on SSS posted these super 2 service dates: Fulmer: July 5 Lopez: July 7 Giolito: July 13 Moncada: July 18 Little earlier than you posted last night in the minors forum. Are those accurate?
