  1. This is fun.
  2. God I'm sick of replay. Never, ever f***ing helps the Sox only hurts them.
  3. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jun 22, 2017 -> 03:17 PM) Braved the rain for about 2.5 hours. Decided I may as well go back to work for a couple hours since I have a softball game at 630. They'll definitely get this game in, first pitch just probably wont be until 5. wow. What is even the point. On getaway day too.
  4. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jun 22, 2017 -> 12:46 PM) He'll improve. I've always felt he's going to be more of a league average player with a few above average seasons at peak rather than any kind of star. I don't see any reason to be down on him based on this year, though. His comp remains Alexei 100%. We are basically watching a 23 year old Alexei imo. Rough around the edges, can't walk for s***, but solid raw power and incredible defensive tools. Anybody that says they don't "remember" TAs defense last year is crazy. He made so many crazy plays ranging to his right, including that one incredible play he made on the popup in shallow left where he outran everybody. He was +11 runs by Fangraphs metric for a reason.
  5. QUOTE (Scoots @ Jun 22, 2017 -> 01:10 PM) Anyone hear anything yet on the time? Just keep an eye out here: https://twitter.com/Twins?ref_src=twsrc%5Eg...7Ctwgr%5Eauthor
  6. Tim Anderson was worth 2.2 fWAR last year in 2/3 of a season. He's at -.2 fWAR this year. He's in his age 23 season and has been playing baseball full time for 4 years. Ups and downs are to be expected. It's a rebuilding year. Let him take his lumps. It's not like these errors are costing the Sox a chance at the pennant. This team has much bigger problems going forward than SS. Finding a rotation and outfield are among them.
  7. No update on twins twitter at the moment.
  8. lol, the ump was personally invested in that meeting. So was his wife.
  9. Ugly ass throw from Narvaez, bad mechanics, bad throw.
  10. QUOTE (Knackattack @ Jun 21, 2017 -> 09:38 PM) Whole inning was really ugly after Davidson fouled off his foot, everyone swung at straight trash Dude you read my mind. That was 2015 Sox offense up there. Just awful.
  11. TA was elite last year defensively is his 90 or whatever games. He's regressed big time. It's fine though, only way he's going to learn to deal with the speed of MLB is on job learning. I don't think AAA hitters hit the ball hard enough consistently to challenge him, hence hte poor fundamentals. The ball he missed is a ball you have to get in front of and knock down if nothing else. Can't let it get by you with an ole.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 21, 2017 -> 09:11 PM) Stonehands Anderson His hands are fine. Get in the front of the f***ing ball.
  13. Come on Anderson. Use good fundamentals. That's just s*** technique.
  14. Bunting is stupid. Thanks for the out, losers.
  15. that was right down the middle, wtf.
  16. I feel like Dozier saves at least one hit per game against the Sox.
  17. Just like last night would be about perfect.
  18. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 21, 2017 -> 07:34 PM) Horses***. Have you guys seen the new Vegas Knights jerseys? It's 115 in Vegas today, and I have a bit of chaffing going on. I walked in to a bike shop to get some chaffing cream the other day and my wife yells out MY HUSBAND NEEDS CHAFFING CREAM FOR HIS BALLS. I seriously think the ball is juiced right now. Homers are wayyyy up since like 2015. We should have traded Sale for Bellinger. Wouldn't you rather have Bellinger than Moncada right now? I suppose Bellinger doesn't speak Spanish though, so who knows if we would have gotten Robert. Who is better, Moncada and Robert, or Bellinger and Urias?
  19. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jun 21, 2017 -> 05:42 PM) Both are controlled 2 more years. One or both will be gone in 2020. It makes sense to play out the string with both. Jose and Avi are both the type that I feel would give the Sox a bit of a "home town discount" because this is where they found success, especially Jose. The Sox shouldn't be doing in long term deals until they know more how the rebuild is going, even if it ends up costing them a few more dollars to extend these guys come 2019 offseason.
  20. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 21, 2017 -> 11:24 AM) How about we have a poll, do you want Jose Abreu to start at 1b for the White Sox in 2018/19, or do you prefer he DH for the overall good of a young/developing team? I mean, we'd be better off spending this whole offseason preparing Avi Garcia to play there, in all likelihood. Don't even need to make an acquisition. There is zero need to do jack s*** other than keeping trotting out Jose at 1B for the rest of the year and re-evaluate things come next February. If you have to have the talk with him about moving to DH for the good of the club then you do it. Acquiring veteran 1B is a pretty dumb thing to do in general, but it's even dumber when you are where the Sox are on the win curve. The Sox already have a number of good candidates to take over 1B. As soon as August we might even be seeing an IF with Yolmer at 3B (his arm looks strong enough now, that double play last night proved it imo), TA at short, with Moncada at 2B and Delmonico/Davidson/Abreu at 1B.
  21. After last night the Cubs and Sox are tied in wRC+ at 95. You gotta be bleeping me! Cubs position players are much better defenders but what the f*** were the odds on that occurring as late as 6/21 entering the year? About 1%? http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=...0&sort=16,d
