  1. bases loaded we got a run, sounds about right.
  2. Can we ask the Rangers for Dunning back?
  3. It would be nice to see some consistency from any of our players. Other than Yaz it seems we have guys that are subject to prolonged slumps.
  4. He's now at -.1 fWAR. He's gone from historically bad to just bad. Maybe he keeps hitting, probably not, but we'll see.
  5. pizza is like sex, even when it's bad, it's ok.
  6. Bro a team 15 under has never made the playoffs. Yes, a season can be over in May. They just got stomped by a bad Detroit team. I know the old message board trope about never giving up, real fans, blah blah blah you are channeling but it doesn't work with a team this bad.
  7. We've seen way too many series against bad to mediocre teams like that during the last two years. Many chances to win, a pitch made here, a play there, a good AB -- but just not made. It reminds me a bit of a conversation on Big Soccer about if Leeds United would go down. Some were arguing "well all they need is to win a game or two here over the last month they've had so many chances and some of it just bad luck they aren't this bad". Well, turns out they are, and so are the Sox. This isn't just bad luck or a play not being made once and awhile -- it's consistent bad play, consistent failure in big moments -- because the team is no bueno.
  8. holy s%*# this lineup is something else.
  9. I like how he didn't over react and just made another good pitch. Santos is a pleasant surprise.
  10. Only makes sense if Santos starts next inning. Hopefully he does after getting this guy.
  11. My god the dude is pitching fine, we need to try and get 6+ more often than not. Grifol is a fucking idiot.
  12. It's impressive Len has spent his entire life around baseball and yet knows nothing about it.
  13. The benefit (and downside) of age is that with time comes acceptance. Sometimes just having a game to turn into is enough to care, and if it becomes more than not, cool, if not, it was enough to just live it. These guys have played like bums most of my damn life, but for now they are playing pretty decent baseball, regardless of what happened three weeks ago or 15 year ago or hell, next week.
  14. If we're going to keep winning 2/3 and turn this thing around we're certainly going to need Moncada, Vaughn and TA to produce like 3-5 WAR players. Tonight they did that. I don't know if that's what the back of their baseball card would project right now, but it's certainly what they are capable of if they can recognize what works for them as hitters. Moncada needs to stay aggressive, swing the bat and not always go so deep into counts. Vaughn needs to keep his hands under the ball and elevate. TA needs to pull the ball.
  15. For a day at least, the Sox played like a really good team. Hit the s%*# out of the ball and easily papered over some defensive and pitching issues.
