  1. not a great AB from Madrigal. Bassitt got exactly what he wanted.
  2. free webcast today https://www.mlb.com/whitesox/video/oak-athletics-vs-chi-white-sox
  3. Usually on something like that it's a min 20% gratuity fee. Probably a shared tip but still not a bad night for a server.
  4. I'd take a guy coming off 144IP and a 4.4 FIP over Reylo and Gio, easy.
  5. That's excellent news. As for Reylo, same. Results don't matter. Just go out and throw with good mechanics for a couple innings and call it a day.
  6. Really nice gesture and a good way to ingratiate himself to his new teammates.
  7. Bassitt is a nice reminder that the Sox made a lot of bad trades before the rebuild. Or to put it more accurately: they made a lot of short sighted trades. Bassitt would look pretty damn good as a cheap 5th starter this year. Oh well, onwards! Go Sox.
  8. I'm guessing he asked for leave and it was granted. I think the heel injury might have been the death knell for him. Probably just said "fuck it" after that and hey it's his decision. He could grind for 10 years making 30K a year at most and wakeup and be 35 and spent some of his best years doing what? I don't begrudge jake anything as a person. As a fan sure it's hard to swallow a top pick doing jack squat but as a person Jake is free to pursue his happiness without my judgement.
  9. This is why you don't trade for bullpen pieces in March. Wait and see what you have in your own camp first. The Sox have quite a few interesting young arms. This guy's stats were impressive last year for where he was drafted. He could contribute this year at the MLB level.
  10. Not around the team in any capacity right now. 99% of minor league players are in some form of organized camp right now. Burger is not. What does that say?
  11. Fake ass insider Not Steve Cishek tweeted last night things had gone "silent" on purpose, just the way the Sox prefer it blah blah blah.
  12. He's almost certainly going to get a shot this year, unless you think Jose and EE play a combined 300 games. He's a DH/1B only. You can't have him catch a MLB game based on what we've seen this spring. I'm not sure why the Sox haven't gotten off the pot on that yet.
  13. A must read article from Dan Z on Robert today. TL:DR is that if Robert hits his 80th or 90th percentile ZIPS projections the White Sox are about even odds to make the playoffs. And Dan is about as optimistic as you'll ever hear him on Robert beating his own projection system's odds. @Quin @bmags @Balta1701 can one of you guys move this thread to the main forum now that Robert is a Big Leaguer? Or maybe this post can headline the new MLB one! Thanks!
  14. Dan Z just did a long look at Robert. He projects there is roughly a 40% chance Robert is above 3 WAR this year. Wow. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/the-white-sox-playoff-road-is-parallel-to-the-luis-robert-expressway/
  15. Hey man this isn't your blog. Try and respect the other posters by not double spacing your posts and formatting them needlessly. Frankly most people will just put you on ignore if you keep it up, including myself. You have good thoughts and input but this isn't the place to just mindlessly put down everything that comes into your head.
  16. I'd think anytime a guy with as many miles as he has reports a "sore shoulder" it rings an alarm bell. If there's a positive here it's that it might allow some of the youngsters to pitch a few more spring training innings. The downside is the Sox might be dealing with a 4 man rotation until Kopech comes up.
  17. Cishek looks pretty sharp got his breaking ball working.
  18. Popout to shallow right. Luis Gonzalez and his 15" glove make the play. That's a rock scooper he's got there.
  19. Eloy gets jammed on a good inside fastball and goes out to right on a lazy fly ball.
