  1. I almost blew up my account this offseason and look at me now. Having a blast watching this team and bummed there's no game today. And it's almost the middle of June! How far back to you have to go to where we were having fun in the middle of June and the Sox are worth watching on a nightly basis? 2012? The trades Hahn made that looked mediocre at best 4 months ago are now looking pretty damn awesome. Things can change but with Gio and Moncada and now Eloy emerging into stars and perhaps superstars (on cheap deals) the future is looking pretty good.
  2. We have a league and park and slash adjusted stat called wRC+ that encapsulates a players value at the dish relative to everbody else: Jose has a 104 wRC+. Ironically, your rant cherry picked SLG to defend his value while ranting about others doing it. Jose is stuck at .2 fWAR. He's now at 1.4 fWAR in his last 200 fucking games. That's a 1 WAR PLAYER! I have a Jose Abreu signed baseball and it remains one of my favorite Sox moments when he signed for me in 2014 and then won ROY. But that doesn't color my analysis of his value in 2019 and in the future.
  3. From Jose's perspective I'm not sure what incentive he has to take an option year given that he's hoping for 2020 as a bounceback year into a multi-year deal most likely.
  4. Especially if he finishes with a 260/290/480 line. He never learned to take his walks, and that is going to haunt him as he ages and his average continues to decline.
  5. it's a miracle they split honestly. need some pitchers but whoo boy this position player group of kids is exciting!
  6. All aboard the Eloy Jimenez express! The bandwagon is filling quickly, better hop on @greg775! Feels great to split and finally beat these guys. Off day tmr, hopefully get Moncada healthy and hold our own in NYC.
  7. he's fine, common sense move from rick, one thing he's good about is defensive replacements.
  8. on a spreadsheet there isn't a difference and his walk rate wasn't going to stay so low.
  9. yea it's 2008 get with the time Greg. wait wut?
  10. Jesus. That should have been routine. Mercy!
  11. good decision by rick.
  12. on replay bummer wouldn't have gotten over.
  13. that's insane tech the camera on the nats broadcast was zooming in on jupiter and you could see a couple moons.
  14. Robles glides out there like Andrew Jones.
  15. Anderson is back in swing at everything mode.
  16. fastball back at 97 would indicate so.
