  1. wow that dish does look good. I'd add some nacho chips.
  2. i also love how a 220/280/500 line is just sorta where it's at for a starting power hitter. We are in some strange times run creation wise.
  3. Gotta get Vaughn in the lineup however possible! Weather probably not much better in Chicago than we have here right now. Mariners will feel right at home.
  4. He’s now a full .3 fWAR clear of his competition. Yikes
  5. On a good team he has a role as a super utility guy assuming he can improve his OF defense a bit. Anyways yea way too many words written about a fringe roster type.
  6. Yea ZIPS has Elko as a 91 wRC+ projection. It's sad that we fans have had to spend so much time fretting around end of the roster guys. But this is where we are at as a franchise. It's some of the only things worth talking about in another miserable season for the team.
  7. Yea both things can be true here: he deserved a shot and he's really no better than Vaughn. They both are below replacement. Elko at least seems like he's got a little range at 1B but he's average at best over there and he's going to hit basically like Palka. Not a MLB, not for long anyways.
  8. Not sure and too lazy to look but I'd probably try and keep Colson at SS for now. Last thing he needs is worrying about defense. If he ever hits enough to be a solid MLB we can find a spot for him somewhere. It's not like we're loaded with stars. Hell, he could play 3B and some 1B as a platoon bat if he's slashing 240/330/400 and be a decent regular. Not sure he can hit 240 tho.
  9. That's fine. Baldwin was OK in his role but he's exposed playing so much in positions he's not suited for. It's too bad Colson is scuffling as I'd like to see Baldwin get 80 games at SS under his belt at AAA to see if he has any future as a utility IF emergency OF type.
  10. It's about fucking time a player on our team realized how to pull the ball for power. It has never been more important for players at every position. Defenses, even with the shift rules, are still converting more balls into outs then ever. You gotta lift the ball, especially in our stadium where a lot of long fly balls will go over the fence all summer.
  11. Don't often agree with you but on this one I think you're pretty spot on. If there's a "development" problem it's as much a scouting problem as development. Eloy and Moncada and Vaughn as a trio have very little love for their craft. Eloy might enjoy playing and Vaughn might have a stern look and Moncada might get a little excited once and awhile but none of them really love to work on their profession in the offseason. It just showed up over time. That's as much on the scouts that recommended their makeup as the coaches trying to get more out of them imo.
  12. That would annoy me, f*** it, I've done a 180.
  13. Totally. I get that. Blowing off steam is fine I guess just some of it seems over the top. Anyways, yea, f*** the cubs.
  14. Some of you guys get more angry about the cubs then you do white sox baseball. come on.
  15. another great waiver claim from Getz.
  16. he's one of 4 position players with positive fWAR. He's far from one of our biggest problems.
