QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2012 -> 02:16 PM) How many opportunities has there been in the non-perfect game start? 11/28, 3 HR, 7 BB with runners on base coming in to today. -

QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2012 -> 02:12 PM) Yep, I like Humber, but he's been really bad outside of the perfect game. He's pitched well with RISP in most games...if not, his ERA could be in Danks territory. Coming in to today this season, with RISP, batters are hitting .300 off of Humber with a 1.181 OPS. Goes up to .393 and 1.349 if you count "Any runners on base". Methinks he's having trouble from the stretch. -
Interesting glance at how there is starting to be a change brewing in pitchers training regimens, with increasing long-toss distances being built into an arm strengthening routine.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 7, 2012 -> 01:54 PM) All versions of the Punisher and Ghost Rider were critical and commercial flops, so I am not sure that is where Marvel wants to set the bar. Serious Q: The first Ghost Rider was a commercial flop and someone still funded a 2nd one?

QUOTE (Marty34 @ May 7, 2012 -> 01:45 PM) If he produces, I think we see more of Fukudome at the expense of Viciedo for the time being. Viciedo has not hit RH'ers. Fukudome, of course, is 5/27 against RHP. -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 7, 2012 -> 01:39 PM) So nice to have a leadoff hitter that can actually get an extra-base hit Double there got his OBP up above .350 and his OPS above .800, both quite nice places. -
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ May 7, 2012 -> 01:38 PM) I read something a while ago that 20-30% of women regret the decision, even years later. There are also studies that have shown that some women suffer from depression or other mental anxiety over it. I'm not suggesting that it's the overwhelming majority but enough to suggest it's not some easy to decision to be taken lightly for everyone. While the other numbers are certainly true, this is the key statement here...the accusation that it is an easy decision which is taken lightly, which 24 hours of a lecture will change.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 7, 2012 -> 10:59 AM) Um, ok. I'd be happy with Venters and Kimbrel myself. Though the Braves, unlike the Sox, are overflowing when starting pitching, majors and minors. And yet, the Braves have the 3rd worst team ERA in the National League. -
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 7, 2012 -> 10:41 AM) The last scene in the recent Transformers movie and this one in NY felt so similar...but this one, you could actually be a bit more emotionally involved because the backstory of the characters was developed so fully. Then again, I'm not 100% convinced that Hawkeye and Black Widow are ready for their own separate stand-alone movies. They seem consigned to secondary status in the group, comparatively. Definitely thought Ruffalo was great, but in limited dosages...and with the Bana/Lee and Norton versions already out there in the last decade, there's probably not quite enough demand built-up but it will be a big temptation to resist with how much Avengers is going to rake in globally and with Thor, Iron Man and Captain America sequels already in the pipeline. Johansson supposedly doesn't want her own stand alone based on how difficult the stunts in this one were.

Home field advantage declining throughout baseball (not just the Chisox).

QUOTE (flavum @ May 7, 2012 -> 10:25 AM) Just eye-balling the radar, I'd say there's very little chance they start Game 1 on time. Hopefully get one in today, and 2 tomorrow. I wonder how the 26 man roster rule works if you're supposed to have a double header but 1 of the games gets rained out and scheduled for the next day. -
Not sure how well Hector can hold his velocity, but Sale moving to the bullpen does seem to give a real argument for sending Hector back to Charlotte and putting him in the rotation there.

John Paxson has surgery related to an irregular heartbeat.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 7, 2012 -> 09:42 AM) My action plan for Hector would involve him finding his testicles and re-inserting them. I am sure ptatc can explain to us the intricacies of such a procedure

Mark Grace helpfully uses the telestrator to write "We don't have audio" on the screen. And includes a frown.

QUOTE (kapkomet @ May 6, 2012 -> 08:35 PM) Ahhh, just in time for the Nobama administration to come in and save the day in his oh so moderate overtones. I'm picturing this post as written while on a lot of cocaine, writhing around and spouting out words, and then it makes sense.

I'm actually impressed, it's been more than 2 months since we've had a serious "Greece crisis" focus. That's better than usual!

Caulfield, thank you for suggesting I tune in to that one in time to catch the play at the plate.

He'd have had a 123 inning if not for defense.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 6, 2012 -> 07:17 PM) Chris Davis 0/7 with 5 K's. He's about to go into the bottom of the 16th tie game in BOS and probably take the loss as a PITCHER. Or if he retires the Red Sox, it will really be a story. 89-90 mph on his first 2 fastballs, 0-2 count. And Salty strikes out swinging on a change!

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 6, 2012 -> 04:18 PM) Sarkozy out, Hollande in. First leftist head of French gov since 95. Meanwhile, the Nazi party in Greece has gathered enough votes to have representatives in Parliament for the first time in at least 40 years.
