Perhaps it wasn't just the dictionary they were using, but also the wifi, answer key, Google, and various types of porn.

Cowley: Bridges need to be rebuilt.
QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Dec 14, 2011 -> 05:45 PM) So, he is a bust then? Unless the next coaching staff can undo the damage done by Walker and Ozzie, the answer will be yes.

Cowley: Bridges need to be rebuilt.
QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Dec 14, 2011 -> 05:35 PM) Or to quote Hawk.. and I rarely do.. Pitchers, made an adjustment to him... Now its up to him to adjust to them... Does anyone think this description remotely fits what has happened to Beckham? I certainly don't. He's popping up or striking out on pitches that in 2009 he was hammering all over the park. The only adjustment pitchers have made is realizing that he's now a much easier out and they can just challenge him to put him away quickly.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 14, 2011 -> 04:16 PM) Use your debit card, hippy. I stopped doing that when my bank decided it didn't want me to.

Some early projection of Sox line-up/stats
QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Dec 14, 2011 -> 04:19 PM) Did you forget the green? Not at all. I think he's a .750-.800 OPS outfielder and a giant upgrade from Juan Pierre.

2012 MLB Catch All thread
The bidding section of the "Posting" process for 25 year old Japanese RHP Yu Darvish ends in about 45 minutes, 5:00 EST today. After today, there is effectively 1 more pitcher off the market for 29 MLB teams, and it's entirely possible that some teams have been holding out on making trades for pitching until they see who wins this bidding process.

Cowley: Bridges need to be rebuilt.
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 14, 2011 -> 03:09 PM) cst_Cowley cst_Cowley Hit unfollow then and take your ass to a shiny, happy place. I'm sure Vanilla Ice across town can make u smile with his no-opinion opinions. Well at least he finally admits they are opinions instead of news. H. Christ, people employed by a news organization are actually allowed to write things like that to readers without getting fired?

NBA Offseason Thread
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 14, 2011 -> 03:09 PM) Dirk's been at that level for a long period of time, i'll give him that. But Dirk wasn't this good at 22 either. Yeah, Rose hasn't been an NBA all star for a decade, I'll grant that also. But that's kinda a hard standard to hold him to. Hell, if we want to go by PER in the Regular season last year...#9 in the NBA was Derrick Rose, #10 was Dirk Nowitzki.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 14, 2011 -> 02:57 PM) Rose isn't in Dirk's league either. Really?

NBA Offseason Thread
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 14, 2011 -> 01:46 PM) After seeing how the superteams got hatched exactly by guys getting together and recruiting other players? Why wouldn't you? Name 1 of those guys who came out of doing so looking like a decent human being.

NBA Offseason Thread
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 14, 2011 -> 01:22 PM) I don't get it. All Rose has to do is pick up the phone and he can make this a top notch franchise potentially, instead of a second tier one. I don't get why a guy can't be above stooping to that level.

Cowley: Bridges need to be rebuilt.
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 14, 2011 -> 10:08 AM) Very impressive. If I didn't re-read that sentence twice, I would have totally thought Danks said that. Same here, that's why my post said exactly that. I read the first bit of comments here, then reread the article, and had an "oh, wait..." reaction.

Oh, so they wait until 14 years after I stop going to Boy Scout meetings every Tuesday night to move the All-Star Game to Wednesday.

Cowley: Bridges need to be rebuilt.
So...random thought... If Cooper was angling for an extension early in 2011, why wasn't it just given to him?

Cowley: Bridges need to be rebuilt.
QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Dec 14, 2011 -> 08:45 AM) Yes, it was the media who managed to put this overpaid roster together... No, but they had a hand in convincing it to tear itself apart.

Some early projection of Sox line-up/stats
QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Dec 14, 2011 -> 08:46 AM) If he gets to .650-.700 range I will be shocked. You're right, I'd be shocked he's that low.

The Dark Knight Rises thread
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 13, 2011 -> 11:52 PM) I wrote "Returns" in the title? Can someone fix that. Isn't "The Dark Knight Rises" the official title?

Cuddyer to Rockies 3 Years 31 million
QUOTE (wallyburger @ Dec 14, 2011 -> 08:37 AM) Twins signed Willingham and these 2 guys are possibly available. The White Sox do not have need of a below average defensive OF/backup 1b (Cuddyer) or a left handed DH. They have too many of both and are spending way too much money on both.

Some early projection of Sox line-up/stats
QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Dec 13, 2011 -> 11:19 PM) Wow, I thought for sure you would have loved that #. I think DeAza is extremely high, and Dunn Extremely Low. I think the .785 projection for De Aza is on the high side, but is something he could reasonably do.

Cowley: Bridges need to be rebuilt.
This is actually a really impressive article. If you're not paying 100% attention, you'll think that the "He was back to the same old Coop" quote is directly attributed to Danks. It takes some nimble writing to pull off a crossup like that.

Braun tests postitive for PEDs
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 13, 2011 -> 10:49 PM) If the writers aren't going to vote roiders into the hall then how the hell can they not strip Braun of the mvp? The HOF is an independent organization that is not subject to the rules of collective bargaining. League organized awards are run directly through the league, to the point where those awards can be included in people's contracts.

Google's response to Siri may be available next year. It is supposedly codenamed "Majel". I approve of the name.
