Scott Lee Cohen has some serious problems
Balta1701 replied to whitesoxfan101's topic in The Filibuster
QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Feb 7, 2010 -> 02:49 PM) Actually, it was, sort of. I recall listening to whoever it is on the morning on WLS-AM and they had him on the air a while back. It came up in their interview and he didn't deny it then. So it was out there, just the media on the whole chose not to make a big deal of it for some reason, Maybe they thought he wasn't a serious threat to win and didn't think it worth the effort? The guys who lost to him messed up not mentioning it either. I can see not mud slinging in a primary, but that is something pretty serious, and I don't think too many people would give you a bad rap for pointing that out. "I disagree with my opponent's budgetary policies" "My opponent beat up a hooker while on steroids". I'd pay to see that debate. -
QUOTE (3E8 @ Feb 7, 2010 -> 02:26 PM) Yeah, not too many would consider Jordan Danks a hold-up in dealing for Adrian Gonzalez The big problem with D2 is that D1 still made a sacrifice, switching agents away from Boras, when we drafted D2. Thus, trading D2 could easily have a huge impact on the ability of the team to hold onto D1. And we still have no idea what they might have said behind the scenes as well.

QUOTE (SleepyWhiteSox @ Feb 7, 2010 -> 02:23 PM) tyrus thomas never got minutes because he's basketball-retarded, along with the terrible attitude and work ethic... You're 100% right. And also I think it's 100% accurate to also say that Tyrus Thomas never got over being basketball retarded with a terrible attitude/work ethic because the coaches preferred benching him to teaching him anything. -

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Feb 7, 2010 -> 01:55 PM) Not for long. The Dems will find some way to force him off the ballot and hand place the guy they really want. Can you blame them? Anyway, how did this kinda stuff not get publicized until the guy won? -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 7, 2010 -> 01:53 PM) Congrats. You have become Kap. I learned from the master

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 7, 2010 -> 12:02 PM) Keep in mind we are talking about at least Stausburg money. Strasbourg money isn't that scary; his contract wound up being fairly reasonable for that level of draft pick. The $50 million he was talking about was scary.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Feb 7, 2010 -> 04:29 AM) Nevermind. I stopped seeing Tyrus' side of the argument. I was for Noah's suspension because that is inexcusable. If this we're another profession where someone wasn't being given the best opportunities by their boss, and they cussed them out, they'd be fired. Honestly, how many here haven't wanted to unleash a profanity-laden rant at VDN several times in the past 1.5 years? -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 7, 2010 -> 11:22 AM) Honestly I am amazed at how few big snowfalls Chicago has actually gotten. In Feb, 1998, the last major El Nino year, I was saying the exact same thing.

QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Feb 7, 2010 -> 12:27 PM) She should have just used a teleprompter to read a speech written for her. After paying her speaking fee, they couldn't afford it.

QUOTE (Cknolls @ Feb 7, 2010 -> 12:23 PM) FWIW. The daily charts left a HUGE buy signal on Friday. We could rally back up to 1110-1111 area before selling off again. But the weeklies had 3 consecutive lows for the first time since the March lows. So we could see a two week rally into expiration before a selloff. Unless the President makes a speech.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Feb 6, 2010 -> 08:41 PM) Fair enough. I guess its possible to see the argument from both sides. Yeah, it would have really helped this team if TT had a bit of brains when he'd been drafted, I'll grant that too. -

QUOTE (DBAHO @ Feb 6, 2010 -> 08:50 PM) If the Knicks offered a future 1st and the expiring contract of Duhon for TT, would you take that? Yeah, and not because of the players involved...because if we rescind the QO for TT we can't use him in a sign-and-trade to help match anything, but we'd be able to do that with Duhon under the Veteran's exemption/Bird Rights, if I know the rules right. -
You'll note, I never said or thought it was BO's work when it was going up, I'm the one arguing the fed has blown up another stock bubble by pumping the markets full of zero-interest cash (which, conveniently, is winding down at the same time as the downwards move you're so happy to blame on the President). But of course, it's always me defending Obama, not you guys always attacking him.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Feb 6, 2010 -> 08:10 PM) The problem has always seemed to be his work ethic. When 3 different coaches get sick of you, something is up. I hear what you're saying. Problem is...in the NBA, if you want to be an effective coach, you can't just get sick of those type of players, you have to develop them. Want a great example? Look how Phil Jackson has taken Kobe Bryant from being a total crybaby in 2003-2004 to being an iceman today. Look how many talented guys have languished with crappy coaching and then snapped out of it when they got out of there. Zach Randolph, Jamal Crawford come to mind as examples just from this year. By the time the 3rd straight coach was responding to every situation, whether I was playing well or not, by benching me, I'd be pretty sick of it too. -
9 straight months of the market going up, and not once do you guys point out a connection between the Pres. making a speech, and the moment it starts going down again and the market, it's immediately "Look how it started going down after Obama talked!"

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Feb 6, 2010 -> 08:07 PM) God I want to trade him. He's so me-first. With how the team has "worked with him" during his career...I don't blame him one bit for being detrimental to the team. I'd be detrimental to the team too if the team would rather lose games than play me. -
QUOTE (lostfan @ Feb 6, 2010 -> 07:09 PM) I don't know why I was thinking Randle was a DE when I wrote that. Same thing though, obviously Randle was going to get in, I never had any doubt about that. But really though how long are they going to make Dent wait? The NFL just doesn't induct enough people per year, given the number of different positions there are. I'm still waiting on Andre Reed's time. I can understand why this isn't his year, there's another decent WR going in, but that guy is a HOFer.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Feb 6, 2010 -> 06:23 PM) lol Balta I didn't expect you to use the same argument as the conservatives "are you saying they don't do it too?" Of course the Dems do it too, I was just talking about Republicans in that post. The Dems are too disorganized and scared of their own shadows to actually know if they are supposed to be serious about something or not. I wouldn't mind one bit if they were scared of losing their seats if we had a system where that meant that people were responsive to the voters. My issue remains; right now, when you're scared of losing your seat, that means you kowtow more deeply to someone on Wall Street.
-
QUOTE (lostfan @ Feb 6, 2010 -> 06:13 PM) The GOP isn't sincere about anything anymore except electoral advantages. f*** them. And the Dems are? They just react to losing their seats a little differently. The Republicans get threatened and decide to bomb more people. The Dems act like Pygmy Marmosets.

Stoudemire says he's leaning towards NOT opting out of his contract. If the Bulls were to deal for him expecting to be able to maintain cap space when he opts out, and thus be able to offer 2 large deals by using Amare's bird rights, that would kill any chance of that happening. -

I should probalby step out before I go too far on this one. Apologies in advance.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 6, 2010 -> 06:01 PM) Except here you haven't really understood your own statements, so it makes a big difference here. You have been trying to make arguments that make no sense. "Giving all money to Wall Street is not always good" = a difficult to understand argument.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 6, 2010 -> 05:59 PM) Winning World Series's sucks. As does making $20 mil/year. Just ask Michael Steele. (Can I make that joke here?)
