  1. If LaRussa is not the worst manager in history, Kimbrel will pitch tomorrow. Regardless of the circumstances. And he won’t show it outwardly, but he will have an extra gear.
  2. It’s outdoors. There could be some transmission but the key is what is going on everywhere else. If your hospitals overflow, they will limit fans because even if outdoor games don’t transmit much, they can’t allow any more cases if the hospitals can’t take them. Get more people the shot and keep them out of the hospital, and that will allow a packed house.
  3. Not just a win. A win over the Cubs. Hate the team if you must. Enjoy the BP cup. Or whatever it is now. It’s the freaking Cubs. Just indulge.
  4. All right AV club
  5. Apparently he’s now 12/22 career at Wrigley.
  6. Freaking Wrigley afternoon games. I guess I can watch some of this at the gym.
  7. Dammit that ball was hammered
  8. Not bad eye Eloy, now we just have to get that swing timing.
  9. 3rd time through the order? You should have Lopez warming.
  10. Dyer, Indiana is a place that exists. Dyer https://goo.gl/maps/vCTnhgHoDoRwKx4eA
  11. Ironically it’s actually Dyer.
  12. Just Bulls. He's handed over most of the Bulls operations to Michael, but Jerry still is thought to have control of the White Sox. Michael is the one who hired this front office. https://www.nba.com/bulls/news/michael-reinsdorf-finds-right-leader-karnisovas
  13. Remember...this one is no longer Jerry.
  14. Because the final lineup stands a good chance of being Vaughn in RF, Eloy in LF, and Sheets or something like that at DH, with Robert in CF between them, and to get there Vaughn will need RF reps in games. In his first game out there last week he badly misplayed a ball, which is better off happening now than in the playoffs. Eloy in LF would be fine in this setup, except he is still recovering from his most recent injury so they are DHing him.
  15. At least if they're putting Vaughn in right, they have a legit CF in there.
  16. It is hard work to break myself of the 15 years of training to instinctively say "no avoid any bad salary cap commitments!". But, playing the game a different way - yeah why not, the team isn't trying to save money.
  17. Ken Harrelson played professionally for 9 years and was a broadcaster for 42. Let’s make him the GM.
  18. That ballpark looks awfully big for Charlotte.
  19. And Carlos Rodon was held down in exactly that same way, almost to the day, with the same agent, without it creating a "negative environment".
  20. Literally look up at the post that started this conversation. It specifically says "I wonder how much them playing the service time game with Bryant played into this". That was specifically the topic I was addressing.
  21. So you agree with my point, a team playing the service time game is a minor factor in whether or not players sign with them. Thank you for your strong endorsement of my point.
  22. Ok, so you want a Boras client called up less than 10 days after the arbitration deadline who was held down for Hector Noesi without it affecting his teammates? Carlos Rodon. https://www.si.com/mlb/2015/04/20/chicago-white-sox-carlos-rodon-call (To be fair, he should have spent more time in the minors than that, but him being a solid starter after being held down to get past the deadline and then immediately called up was part of Ricky's grand 2015 plan).
  23. This description does not match the 2021 White Sox.
