Slumps and Adam Dunn: they've met before
Milkman delivers replied to witesoxfan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jun 3, 2011 -> 11:27 AM) I just hope that it's not a situation where the Sox are out of it and he starts hitting everything in sight. Also what I expect. -
It would take some extremely hot play (.605 winning percentage) for the rest of the year to get to 90 wins. We better hope 85 wins takes this division, and we'd still need to be really good.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 2, 2011 -> 08:14 PM) As a bench player. Haha, I thought I put it in the worst possible terms for Dunn, but you topped it.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 2, 2011 -> 07:53 PM) I kept wanting to not enjoy that trailer, but I couldn't help it. The monkeys looked pretty fake at times, though.

I'm starting to figure that this isn't actually happening. -
Thomas "had a lot of teammates involved" in steroids

QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Jun 2, 2011 -> 11:38 AM) It was sort of ironic that the Sox signed him to fill in for Frank when he got hurt. Was that the year Frank hurt his triceps? I remember that every homer by Canseco was of the humpback variety. It's sort of ironic since Frank is normally considered clean by most, but every discussion about him will eventually turn into a steroid discussion. -
QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 2, 2011 -> 07:14 AM) HR leader = CQ, 34 Dunn = 17 HRs Humber = 12 wins Sox win 83 games, enough to make it look like KW and Ozzie did an Okay job. What I fully expect. It's worse than being terrible, so it'll happen.

We're two months into the season, and Lillibridge has more homers than Dunn.

QUOTE (Bighurt52235 @ Jun 2, 2011 -> 02:07 AM) I LOVE Hawk, and would give him a kidney if he needed It. Even if he just wanted to sell it. I laughed out loud.

QUOTE (qwerty @ Jun 2, 2011 -> 03:15 AM) Quite the sad little story. There is another film touching the same subject that i watched the same day... a bit different for the romance genre. Completely off topic... but more people need to see the man from earth... just curious what people have to say. I don't personally know a person who has disliked the film. Milkman or sqwert, i'm looking at you. I added it, but it might be a while before I actually watch it. I haven't been in a mood to watch movies in a while. I've had the same two DVDs just sitting on my table for almost a month now.

This might have been the first game all season where I didn't catch even a second of the game.

Jackson would accept move to pen

I like his attitude, to say the least. -
Don't people argue that Ventura was one of the greatest college players ever? Why did he last until the tenth pick?

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 07:38 AM) Depends on what you mean by "decent". 2003 21-9 2.70 era 1.113 WHIP 2004 10-7 5.70 era 1.574 WHIP 2005 12-10 3.77 era 1.300 WHIP 2006 11-9 4.86 era 1.416 WHIP after that he didnt' really pitch much in 2007 and 2008. He had maybe a decent year with Washington in 2005, but other than that was pretty bad after his Cy type season. All of his peripherals pretty much fell apart after 03 as well. His K's dropped, his hits went up, and walked either went up or leveled off. I'd only characterize 2004 as bad.

QUOTE (T R U @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 01:48 AM) Its not that you dont think its hilarious, its just that some people here are making it seem like they sat there the entire movie and just "chuckled" at some parts, which I just find hard to believe.. im not saying it was a masterpiece, but man, how can you not laugh at most of that movie? Also milk, that was obviously not a real penis so it was less gross than what happened with kimmy, yikes.. Still pretty gross, man And I don't know what to say. I honestly didn't laugh out loud once. I can't put it into better terms. It's almost like listening to a person attempting to be funny that tries too hard, maybe? He's a good guy and he's not the most boring person ever, but he's just not funny and tries way too much.
-
Didn't Loaiza pitch decently for a few years after that great season? I don't expect Humber to continue this forever, but I see no reason why he can't go on to have a few average seasons. And an average pitcher is nice to have.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ May 31, 2011 -> 01:52 PM) Bet you never thought you'd say that in March. Never in a million years QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 31, 2011 -> 01:55 PM) I think I would lean towards Peavy as he is the best pitcher when healthy, but in 3 career postseason/game 163 appearances, he has sucked. Ah, yes. I forgot about that stuff. I remember looking into that when the Sox were first rumored to be landing him.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ May 31, 2011 -> 09:14 AM) So, my sister got engaged this weekend. That's exciting. She's known the guy since HS, but only really dating for a few months. Tell her Milkman from Soxtalk said congratulations. I'm sure she'll be thrilled.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 31, 2011 -> 01:41 PM) not when statements like this are thrown out Nobody pays attention to Sqwert.

QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ May 31, 2011 -> 01:35 PM) Unless you speak milkman Well played, sir lol

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 31, 2011 -> 01:35 PM) i think both sides of this debate need to step back and realize that their opinions arent going to match. Its a movie, there will always be critics and there will always be fans. Rotten Tomatoes isnt the end all be all. if you want to use it as your gauge, that is your prerogative. I think the side saying that it wasn't funny has been open to others finding it funny. But apparently anyone who doesn't think it was hilarious has a problem

QUOTE (T R U @ May 31, 2011 -> 01:29 PM) The only gross out part of the movie, I thought, was the part with the Tranny and the things she said to Stu.. im sorry, but seeing a little penis on an asian man wasnt that big a deal.. Haha, I guess we're just different people in that regard. And it's not like they just showed the little penis,
-
And how can you not consider Alan and Stu or a to be gross-out humor?
-
QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ May 31, 2011 -> 01:19 PM) Dude...really no spoiler tags? There are tranny's in Bangkok. This can't be news to anyone, and they're obviously going to make jokes about it in a comedy based in that city. QUOTE (T R U @ May 31, 2011 -> 01:20 PM) No, not even that chow part.. that wasn't really "gross out".. but definitely the trannys What part, then?
-
I'd normally want Danks going in a must-win game, but that apparently isn't the case right now. I'd have to say Peavy or Humber at the moment.
