  1. Off topic, but they don’t even count murders on the expressways as counting in Chicago. If they did, Chicago’s annual numbers would be significantly higher. They should absolutely count towards Chicago’s numbers, as they are all Chicago conflicts, but they are not due to ISP having jurisdiction to investigate them.
  2. I guess it’s more bad strategy than bad development (ideally, at least). Thanks for the breakdown. Didn't realize we could’ve had Culpepper.
  3. Well, I’m going to believe it until the Bears draft a QB that is at the top of the league. There’s 88 years of precedent. I doubt the Bears simply drafted the wrong guy every time.
  4. The thing with the Bears is that they will likely screw up whoever they draft at QB. So you need the guy to be absolutely perfect to have any faith that he can overcome the Bears’ coaching/development. It’s not exactly logical, but it’s the mindset of a fan of this team (or a Chicago team in general). If you expect a kick in the balls, and you get a slap in the face, it’s a win.
  5. You may be right. Williams’ star is falling pretty hard right now. There are even articles suggesting he should sit out the rest of the year.
  6. Won’t somebody please think of the millionaire professional game players?
  7. Not sure what the big deal is. Both the Rangers and Phillies have a top 4 record in their leagues. That gets them into the playoffs every year for almost the last 30 years. I think the wild card era was the best playoff format for baseball. Do people really want to go back to the two division format where each team is automatically in the LCS? I sure don’t.
  8. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? I’m guessing bad, but “booty” has good connotations, at least for me haha.
  9. Altuve has to be the most hated by far.
  10. Like I said before, Houston would’ve drawn the hate watchers. Philadelphia would draw the young crowd. Harper is the perfect amount of douche for the 20 something fans. Arizona and Texas will be pretty terrible in the ratings. I don’t think anybody nationally cares about either team. I’m not even sure how they draw locally.
  11. The Cheating Cheaters of Cheaterton are officially eliminated. Fantastic. And if Arizona wins tomorrow, MLB cannot be very happy ?
  12. It’s all well and good if you choose to move away. But if they move away from you, it’s different. I’m sure we all have that friend who moves an hour or more away and then complains that none of their friends ever comes to visit, as if it’s on everyone else to make the effort to see you instead of you coming back to see everyone else.
  13. Damn it, the Astros are definitely taking this series.
  14. Screw Chicago. I have no love or allegiance to this city. I would absolutely stop watching baseball games if the Sox weren’t convenient for me to watch. I already stopped for several years and they didn’t even move.
  15. Perhaps my first impression was correct.
  16. No argument that it’s embarrassing. I consider them to be an embarrassment of a franchise entirely.
  17. That would be nice. But looking back as the Twins, that has to hurt.
  18. As bad as the Central is and has been, the Sox and Royals have won a World Series in recent memory (KC getting to the WS twice). The Tigers (twice) and Guardians have been to the WS. And you have the Twins getting to the playoffs ten times since 2002. They advanced past the first round just twice. Has to suck to be a fan of that team.
  19. In my mind, absolutely. But this would make it unarguable.
  20. On the other hand, if they win it, Bochy has to then be considered one of the greatest managers of all time, right?
  21. For sure, but I don’t think many teams had a Manning or Brady. Those are best of all time contenders, so every team would want them. But yes, the Bears take it to an extreme by almost never having anything better than a league average QB. Completely agree on your draft statements. Regarding Cutler, maybe my memory is way off, but you think he wasn’t even a top 15 QB? Off the top of my head, I would think he was a top 10 for at least a few years on the Bears. Certainly not the best, but better than most. But I honestly can’t recall most of the starting QBs from that timeframe.
  22. You gotta kind of admire it, to be one of those people who doesn’t give a s%*# what you think. But maybe it’s also a bit sociopathic.
  23. Spoiled in comparison to everything they had before and since. He’s the best they’ve had by a wide margin. The issue for the Bears, as with the Sox, is that they have arguably the worst owner in the sport. Nothing changes until that does. They’ll trip over a good season here and there, but that’s the best you’ll get.
