  1. Wow, a lot of you ought to lighten up. This is a complete non-story.
  2. QUOTE (ozzfest @ Feb 8, 2010 -> 02:32 PM) http://www.baseball-intellect.com/Articles...kham-swing.html Arod and Gordon thoughts? beckham is not a roider so obvs. he's not going to produce the same power as aroid, but man are their swings pretty. check em' out. DISCLAIMER: many of you have probably seen this already Like any of us know that.
  3. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Feb 8, 2010 -> 08:23 PM) I like that a lot. Ozymandias would make a hell of a case study. And so would Comedian (and Rorschach to a lesser extent, IMO). That book/movie would be a great topic for discussion on moral ambiguity.
  4. QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 8, 2010 -> 08:21 PM) Are Dexters morals really ambiguous though? He has a code that he describes in detail. He gets rid of bad people, which is a good thing. But, he does so by killing them. That can make for good discussion.
  5. How about reading or watching Watchmen? There are at least three characters that would make for good conversation (Ozymandias, Comedian, and Rorschach).
  6. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 8, 2010 -> 04:49 PM) Frank Castle/Punisher I think he's the definition of moral ambiguity in pop culture. Ooh, that's a very good one. I was going to say Tony Soprano or Dexter Morgan, but both have been added already.
  7. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Feb 8, 2010 -> 03:23 PM) Daniel Plainview. I think that character was overtly evil.
  8. QUOTE (knightni @ Feb 7, 2010 -> 09:53 PM) CarMax wins with their Dramatic commercials. Another terrible year for commercials.
  9. QUOTE (zenryan @ Feb 7, 2010 -> 08:10 PM) The Who sucks. Horrible selection. That was one of the better halftime shows in recent memory. Daltrey definitely didn't sound too into it, though. And The Who does not suck.
  10. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Feb 7, 2010 -> 10:29 PM) I had tickets to game 4 of the '05 World Series in Houston and missed it because I had to see about a girl. That you, Robin?
  11. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Feb 5, 2010 -> 06:34 PM) I'm rooting for the Saints to win. But I think the Colts pull it out. This.
  12. I think it's absurd that so many of you would consider him a fool for passing up an offer for more money. If the man decides to retire, I'm sure he's considered how much money he's already accumulated. The man has his own priorities, and he seems to have them straightened out pretty well. Mark Buehrle doesn't care about his career statistics or his chances at the Hall of Fame. He (probably) has more money than he, or his children, will ever need. He doesn't need to squeeze every last dime out of his playing career. I respect the hell out of him for that.
  13. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Feb 3, 2010 -> 02:08 PM) it's a shame that AN EDUCATION hasn't gotten more attention - it's a flawless film w/terrific performances and a good story. No 3D, though. I have to go w/hurt locker - just a good old fashioned war movie that has no political objective. refreshing. I haven't seen it, but I'm hearing that Alfred Molina got screwed by not getting a nomination for Supporting Actor.
  14. I'm pretty sure Hurt Locker will still win Best Picture. I think it's also a shoo-in that Waltz takes home the Best Supporting Actor. I'm guessing Bridges for Best Actor (due to all of the hype I've been seeing recently), but it wouldn't surprise me for Clooney to win.
  15. QUOTE (knightni @ Feb 1, 2010 -> 05:41 PM) Mauer's going to be overpaid within 4 or 5 years - when he can't be a catcher anymore. Yeah, a 10-year deal for anyone doesn't seem too smart to me. I understand that they probably had to go with a long contract to keep him there, but what are the chances that he's even a catcher for that length of time, let alone the very good chance of injury.
  16. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Feb 1, 2010 -> 05:02 PM) Look at Sams Club or Costco. That crap comes in big ass 145 lb cans. I used to get it ALL the time in high school. Why?
  17. QUOTE (CryptviLL @ Feb 1, 2010 -> 09:45 AM) Yeah, that was just a tentative card, they could go alot of ways with it, I just am dreading anything that involves undertaker + title and Sheamus + title And sad to see Rumble being used the way it was! I have a feeling you wouldn't be happy with the results no matter how it played out.
  18. I love me some cinnamon rolls and all, but I usually have to wait for the icing to solidify a little before digging into one.
  19. About a year ago, my friend and I watched a Royal Rumble from the early 90's (might have been late 80's). I remember having a discussion about how we can make an argument that each one of the contestants could be put into the hall of fame. Now you watch, and there's about 5 guys like that and you can guarantee just a couple have a chance of actually winning.
  20. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 28, 2010 -> 07:30 AM) Trips is supposed to win the upcoming Royal Rumble according to spoilers big surprise I was actually considering buying this Royal Rumble. This possible spoiler makes it very unlikely that I will.
  21. Phil's Pizza on 35th and Aberdeen. I'm used to how good it is by now, but whenever I have people in town from other areas of the country, they love it. Flaxx, what the hell is a fried ketchup taco?
  22. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Jan 27, 2010 -> 01:40 PM) Yep, Piccard and Walsh in the Trieste, 50 years ago last week. I wouldn't think it was that long ago. How far did they get down?
