  1. QUOTE (Shadows @ Nov 23, 2008 -> 03:49 AM) Death row is a bit extreme because there are people who murder other people and don't even get death row, however, the year or however long he did in jail was perfect punishment IMO. He spent time in jail, its not like he had some ridiculous sentence.. he lost his job, he lost all his money. I think its safe to say he learned quite the lesson from all of this. I however do not think hunting is as bad because you aren't hunting domesticated dogs, you are hunting stupid s*** that no one gives a f*** about. I could care less about a deer or a quail or a pig. Those aren't pets (Only to some weirdos) and there is actually a use to it for the food. Having two dogs rip eachother apart and torturing them and then killing them when they are useless.. that aint even CLOSE to the same thing as hunting.. Well, I'm a pretty firm believer in the death penalty. I think it should be used much more than it is. So, that's where I'm coming from when I say these guys, too, should be on death row. In regards to the bold part, who the hell hunts pigs? Ha, unless you mean a wild boar or something.
  2. While I see the logic in the argument that they're "just animals," there has to be a line. Some people can argue that hunting is just as bad, but the objective in hunting is to take an animal down as quickly and cleanly as possible, whereas fighting animals is just an elongated torture for an animal. It's an opportunity to witness the slow, painful death of an innocent animal in order to place bets. It's sadistic, cruel, and cannot be defended. Michael Vick should be grateful that he's only doing prison. If I were the judge, he'd be sitting on death row.
  3. The Bears' defense isn't so good this year.
  4. QUOTE (lostfan @ Nov 23, 2008 -> 01:02 AM) Not really, I type so fast it's an automatic movement when my keys touch the keyboard and when I'm drunk, naturally, my fingers start hitting the wrong keys. I could hit backspace to correct it but then I end up taking extra letters out and/or missing the backspace key entirely and just f***ing it up worse and making it harder to correct. So it's a vicious cycle, my terrible typing is for real. Lightweight.
  5. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 22, 2008 -> 02:16 PM) Beer got to Slav again I still believe that people who spell that terribly while drunk are doing so on purpose to show people how "drunk" they are.
  6. QUOTE (heirdog @ Nov 21, 2008 -> 09:13 AM) I think a Konerko for Figgins + prospect is the move KW will look to do. Figgins will play 3B and lead-off and Fields would move over to 1B. Getz/Nix will play 2B and bat 2nd. Betemit will be the super utility player. I'd look for an Owens/Anderson platoon in CF. If KW can get solid prospects for Dye, he may look to do that as well in order to open the spot for Viciedo if he feels he's ready or else, Dye will be there again this year. That would be a terrible infield.
  7. QUOTE (YASNY @ Nov 20, 2008 -> 11:54 PM) Based on what you just wrote here, I'd ignore you too. He's a little runt? WTF is up with that. Were ever s starter on a ML baseball team? Have you ever interviewed for a manager's position on a MLB team? Accomplishment-wise, who's the runt? Perhaps you should keep the discussion to the players. The guy didn't really say anything bad, and it's his opinion.
  8. QUOTE (YASNY @ Nov 20, 2008 -> 11:50 PM) I'm sorry, but Jason Varitek deserves much more respect than that remark. Well, you can probably change "crappy" to "washed up," but that's pretty much true.
  9. QUOTE (bschmaranz @ Nov 20, 2008 -> 12:24 PM) Agreed... he's not a first ballot, but he'll get in. You also have to consider that he is a very well-liked player and that he was a part of the historic Yankees. I think he's definitely going to get in when you consider those things, plus his numbers.
  10. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Nov 20, 2008 -> 12:48 PM) I dont know about Mussina, i tend to think he just misses. The way I look at it, is if I were to think about the past 15 years and was asked to name the game's best pitchers, would Mussina come out of my mouth? I dont think it would. As someone said earlier, it's the hall of fame, not the hall of very good And as I said, no, it really isn't.
  11. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 20, 2008 -> 12:25 PM) Watching it when I get home On Demand (I always wait til the next day for the HD). I can't wait! EDIT: I also can't wait to read the blacked out censored stuff... I'll watch it on my lunch break. Haha, we know...you never fail to mention it .
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 20, 2008 -> 11:58 AM) No Cy Young awards, not getting to 300 wins despite playing for the team spending by far the most money to build a dominant offense over the last decade, only 1 20 win season (this year) on his resume. I think he still misses. It's the hall of fame, not the hall of very good. In name only. It's definitely the hall of very good, judging by a lot of its members. He can definitely get in.
  13. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Nov 19, 2008 -> 10:02 PM) I think he'd probabaly have to stick around for a while to get to that mark. A 20 win season is a nice way to go out though. He needs 30 more. On the Yankees, that's definitely attainable in two years.
  14. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Nov 20, 2008 -> 12:05 AM)
  15. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Nov 19, 2008 -> 11:32 PM) So I recently got into that show, its fantastic. i missed a bunch of episodes though, and cant find them online to watch. Anybody have suggestions? I usually use hulu.com, or the show website, but they only have eps 1,2, and skips to 8-current. To tonight's show, wow. Why couldnt Jax realize that Clay was up to something? He shouldve seen right through him and confronted him. AHHHHH...I love shows like this, but cant watch them that much because I always want them to see the other side that you can see, but they dont know. Its frustrating.
  16. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Nov 19, 2008 -> 05:08 PM) A spot just opened up for Burnett. Mike Mussina has decided to retire. I thought he would stick around and try for 300. I wanted him to do so, also.
  17. I will be attending Survivor Series this Sunday. Any of you plan on ordering it?
  18. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Nov 19, 2008 -> 12:54 AM) Haha, that's awesome. Looks nice from the frontal view available on wikipedia. Although I'm guessing those are for the $1925/month "Capotes." Your ass is probably in one of those "Austen Lofts" I had to look up the floor plan to see which one you were talking about. Ha, our place is bigger than those ones.
  19. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 19, 2008 -> 12:17 PM) Vegan actually. I respect your devotion, but also think you're insane. I couldn't live without meat. If I absolutely had to do it, I'd have to eat a lot of meaty vegetables, such as eggplant.
  20. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 19, 2008 -> 12:07 PM) Back in my meat eating days I loved Arby's. You're a vegetarian?
  21. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Nov 18, 2008 -> 11:59 PM) I've thought about this many times. I'm 23 and grew up through the transition from mom-and-pop video stores to a monopoly of Hollywood Video/Blockbuster/Netflix. Before my family moved to Palos we lived off 63rd and Lawndale in Chicago. Within half a mile of where we lived there were six family owned video stores. One of my earliest memories is riding with my brother to every single video store looking for Super Mario Brothers 3 on NES, and when we found one, kept it for a good two months because we continued renting it over and over. Of course, none are around today. And two of the video stores were typical of past businesses in Chicago where someone lived above the actual store. Definitely won't find those around here, anymore. To address the actual thread, I recommend everyone here rent "Once Were Warriors" if it's available at your store. It's the best movie you've never seen. Another is "Session 9" if you're into horror movies. Most video stores should have this title. I actually live in the apartment complex that was built there.
  22. Terrible list, and the reasons have been pointed out repeatedly in this thread.
