  1. QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Sep 11, 2008 -> 12:33 PM) It is possible, though, that he is a freak of nature. His heart is 33% larger than the average man's. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/statitude.../armstrong_btn/ That gives him a pretty distict advantage athletically. Granted, I don't know how his heart compares to other cyclists, but it is possible that he has a God-given advantage. Maybe he's like cyclings version of Wilt Chamberlain - ahead of his time athletically. As stated earlier, he has been tested for all the banned substances - repeatedly, and the cycling organizations seem to be pretty good at catching cheaters regardless of their stature in the sport. That said, I wouldn't be totally shocked if he, or any athlete tested positive for PEDs. Sad, but not shocked. Sorry, what I was trying to say was that "Armstrong would have to be more than just a freak of nature to be so dominant in the sport." The guy was saying that he could be a freak of nature and he'd still not be as good as he is.
  2. I made this post years ago. I have a friend whose brother is a trainer for these bicyclists. He admittedly has never worked with Lance Armstrong, but he has worked with many of his teammates. He says that the steroid use in bicycling is rampant, and that Armstrong would have to be more than just a freak of nature to be so dominant in the sport.

Ham and cheese on white bread with mustard. I love me a normal sammich.
  4. Konerko's hurt. I'm turning this off and leaving before I throw a hissy fit.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 09:23 PM) We really have to stop letting him start games. Who do we start, though? We have no good choices.
  6. He deserves every boo he got, if not more.
  7. He has to come out of this game. Immediately.
  8. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 09:21 PM) Just playing so poorly against the hottest team in the majors. Not a good mix. It's also not good to throw AAA garbage against them, ha. Not too many choices out there, though.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 09:16 PM) 1-7 with RISP tonight. Eh, Cabrera couldn't have done much more with that.
  10. Do we have anyone available to bench Alexei for a few days?
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 09:06 PM) Wow, good job pitching over the error! He must've learned that from Buehrle.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 09:02 PM) You were around when I said I almost got a job working as his assistant with the Cubs, right? Nope.
  13. f***ing Ramirez. First he can't hit, and now he can't field.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 09:00 PM) Really, I thought he said he's a fan of both? I'm pretty sure he said he was a White Sox fan from the North side, and he said it was his rebellious stage or something.
  15. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 08:58 PM) Now that was a nice hit. Nice drive. Not trying to park it with an overswing. More of that. I missed you in chat, my bad. Doesn't look like anyone's around tonight, anyway.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 08:45 PM) Good stuff. Twins lead 3-1. Looking at a 1 game lead after tonight, and absolutely no momentum heading into Cy Runner-Up Halladay.
  17. Any chat crew in here? If so, why aren't you in the chat?
  18. I watched it. Things went pretty much as anyone would guess, but the PPV was saved by Jericho winning the strap to end it.
  19. The Patriots are apparently looking into Chris Simms.
  20. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 7, 2008 -> 04:40 PM) I'll gladly defend the guy. He has the best batter's eye on the team and those two called strikes were low and inside. What the f*** was he supposed to do with those pitches? Get a grip. I have a grip. I'm not even mad about losing, as we took 2 of 3 from a good team. But, Swisher is a jackass for not swinging at a single pitch. That is inexcusable. Maybe he should have danced around the batter's box and the umpire would have awarded him first base. I mean, the only thing better than his eye is his hilarious antics in the dugout.
