OFFICIAL: Sox Sign Linebrink - 4 yrs, 19 mil
Milkman delivers replied to soxbearsbulls's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Nov 21, 2007 -> 11:04 PM) No. I think he's a flash in the pan. It wouldn't surprise me if his ERA is near 6.00 next year. That's where you're wrong. He'll put up an ERA of 0.84 and take home the Rolaids relief man of the year award. Book it. -

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Nov 21, 2007 -> 10:59 PM) Somehow, this big fish thing is gonna end up with us acquiring Neifi Perez. We can only hope... -

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Nov 21, 2007 -> 10:57 PM) It would be nice if at least one of the guys between MacDougal, Aardsma, Masset and Sisco could actually be effective next season. I don't think you could count on it, and I'm happy it appears KW is not, but stranger things have happened. KW brings in another guy and one or 2 of these guys do what the White Sox thought they would do and the bullpen goes from total disaster to a strength. Its always nice to dream in November. Are you relying on Wasserman to do well? -

It's expensive, but I like it. Still, there's a lot of work to do to make this team a contender. I guess we'll see what happens pretty soon, as most of KW's moves seem to all come in bunches. Your ass better be worth it, Linebrink. -

So, this may sound obsessive and all, but I recently purchased a picture of Mr. Perfect on ebay put it on my wall...framed. -
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Nov 21, 2007 -> 09:43 PM) So my roommates new girlfriend has sent me (now going on) 120 texts in the last four days. A little strange? I kind of think so... 120 texts from anyone in four days is strange, no matter who it is. EDIT: And unless she's just a really weird/friendly person, she clearly wants your balls. In that case, you probably should tell your friend...and I would've done so about 110 texts ago.

QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Nov 20, 2007 -> 06:05 PM) I wonder when the next M*A*S*H-like show will hit our TV waves? Hospital shows, Lawyer shows, Crime Scene Investigator shows, shows about a dad who happened to be a former stand up comic shows, Crime Scene Lawyer who used to be stand up comic shows that take place in Hospitals, etc It's been a while since we had a war show... What are those two?

Jon Garland traded for Orlando Cabrera
Milkman delivers replied to Steve9347's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 19, 2007 -> 06:24 PM) Other than KW saying he's still trying to land a big fish, no. Probably also worth noting we don't know how much money is coming back, but that's about it. That's mostly what I wanted to know. Thank you. You're a gentleman and a scholar. -
Jon Garland traded for Orlando Cabrera

A little help here, please. I haven't been able to check this thread for about 2 hours with the commute home, cooking, etc. Is there anything new since then? I don't feel like reading 10 pages of what is probably a lot of back-and-forth debate on how much this trade sucks or may suck eventually. -
Jon Garland traded for Orlando Cabrera

QUOTE(beck72 @ Nov 19, 2007 -> 01:44 PM) The sox have lacked a true #2 hitter for years. Cabrera is that. I bet more trades are coming but Orlando is likely staying put. Wait, what? Wasn't Iguchi like the ideal #2 hitter? -
Thanks for all the solid, and a few excellent, years on the South Side. And a special thanks for that little trophy that we couldn't have gotten without you.

Jon Garland traded for Orlando Cabrera
Milkman delivers replied to Steve9347's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I like having Cabrera, but I think we should have gotten more for Garland. I think that is how most people feel, too. I also just can't see how we can compete this year, as there is much that needs to be done. I guess we'll see. -

QUOTE(Brian @ Nov 18, 2007 -> 10:53 PM) Edge returns and helps Batista retain. Batista was out after a tombstone on the stairs when Edge attacked. Randy Orton retained after HBK tried different finishers like the sharp shooter, ankle lock, and CRIPPLER CROSSFACE. Eh PPV. Y2J tomorrow. Mark out in t-minus 22 hours My friend and I felt awkward when he did the crippler crossface. I couldn't really make myself look right at the screen. It felt sort of dirty. -

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Nov 18, 2007 -> 02:10 PM) From Rotoworld: Wait, what? Seriously? No f***ing way!?! I'm more astounded by the name Bean Stringfellow. -
Thank you.

So you guys can vouch for the site's legitimacy? I'm sort of worried about getting ripped off.

Bee Movie was funny.

QUOTE(Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 12, 2007 -> 11:19 AM) Anyone catch the 100th episode clip show special? Man the creator/voice of all of those characters is a douchebag. I enjoy the show, but it's really not THAT great anymore. The line at the end was hilarious, though. "And hopefully we won't get cancelled for two and a half f***ing years in the middle of it."

QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Nov 11, 2007 -> 12:15 AM) Im guilty of this. I have a trained response in my head. Normally my answer to anything like this is "Hows it going?" and with my job I meet new people a lot and I just always say that when anyone says hi or even asks me whats up or how Im doing. Funny, I wouldn't think an alcoholic B-52 pilot would meet that many people at all.

Seeing the thing about 9-11 conspiracy theorists reminded me of this one. There are actually people out there who refuse to be organ donors because they believe that doctors don't do everything they can to save you (basically let you die) if they see that you are a donor. A guy I went to high school with told me that, and how he and a few of his friends aren't donors because of that. No matter how much arguing I did, he could not be swayed. I really wanted to strangle him to death for being so ignorant/selfish, but then I remembered that nobody would get his organs if I did.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Nov 7, 2007 -> 04:42 PM) Sorry SSI, I do that. I like to eat half of her meal, plus whisper about the funny s*** we hear other people talking about. I like your manhood peeves. I dont like the guy who is constantly wondering if his girlfriend is mad at him. Then he acts tough like he doesnt care, yet is seen running out of whereever he is 2 min later. How about the friend who gets a girlfriend and then you never see or hear from him until they break up. Ugh, dealing with that one right now. It sucks so much.

QUOTE(Soxfest @ Nov 6, 2007 -> 12:47 PM) Article does not much give hope for improvement in 2008! Thanks, mighty Thor.

Has anyone ever been making a turn, but there is oncoming traffic so you have to wait, and you can see the person behind you in your mirror going insane because you don't risk slamming on the gas to make the turn at the absolute split-second chance that could end up with you making a successful turn or getting hit in the side?

QUOTE(The Critic @ Nov 5, 2007 -> 02:31 PM) Totally agree both ways. It makes me feel good when someone does wave, and pisses me off when they don't, especially when their lane is cutting off or there's some other situation where it absolutely is a favor to let them in. I've found way more people do wave than don't, so that's good at least. True about most people waving. I find I get even angrier when the non-waver happens to be driving a BMW or something. Good thread.
