QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 23, 2013 -> 10:59 PM) I agree that was a very crazy scenario, although I wonder how much the Commodore's old friends was involved, they showed him happy when she was getting arrested. I have a feeling Chalky is still gonna be a key character in the show, if not then a lot of that was a waste of time. Maybe his new friends in the country will come join the war. Yeah, it seems as if Nucky knows what's going on, so that should be interesting. The Commodore's friend, Leander, said he set it up. And I think it's clear that Chalky's old mentor's men are going to help him.- Frank Thomas: "I could have won 4 more MVP's"
I hope he gets in on the first ballot, but I see him getting screwed. I think Biggio gets in this time, and I believe that hurts Frank's chances even more.- Frank Thomas: "I could have won 4 more MVP's"
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 22, 2013 -> 10:46 AM) Maddux will be in the 99% range, as well he should. As for Tom Glavine, I think Thomas's HOF credentials are better than his. You'd be a fool to believe the HOF voters won't put Maddux and Glavine in at the same time. The stories write themselves.- 2013 TV Thread

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 8, 2013 -> 09:59 AM) He was clearly trying to ram the cops and almost ran over several people. I have no problem with shooting there. Meth is a crazy thing. You don't gotta tell me. It seems some others don't see it that way though.- College Life Catch-All
QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Nov 6, 2013 -> 09:18 AM) I'm sure it's that simple. I didn't read that he almost killed anyone, just that he hopped a curb. Ultimately it seems that he wouldn't turn his car off, so that means shoot to kill I guess. Trained professionals make mistakes - there's obviously going to be a huge investigation into this thing to see if that's the exact protocol that should be followed. I'm quite sure there were a million other factors, not just that he refused to turn the car off.- College Life Catch-All
QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Nov 5, 2013 -> 10:46 PM) Weird. I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to shoot and kill someone only if they don't turn their car engine off. I read that the guy almost ran over several people while trying to flee in the truck. At that point, he's using a deadly weapon. But I guess your smarmy attitude means you know more than the trained professionals on scene.- Official Squared Circle Thread

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 26, 2013 -> 11:39 AM) I enjoy seeing how deep his evil side can go. I like the show too because anybody but Nucky or Capone might die at any moment. Keeps it suspenseful. There's a few more than those two, but yeah, that's the appeal to me as well. That and the acting.- 2013 TV Thread
QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Oct 26, 2013 -> 01:58 AM) I've actually really disliked and been bored with this season. I don't like Narcisse at all, I fight falling asleep every time him and Chalky babble on. Yeah, he seems like a paint-by-numbers villain (strange accent, unknown motives, highly intelligent, very proper attire/manners, etc.).- 2013 Films Thread
QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 24, 2013 -> 10:00 AM) Ehh, I'd watch about any super hero(ine) movie if it was well-done. Same here, but I also couldn't care less if this thing gets made.- Jim Leyland stepping down

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Oct 23, 2013 -> 10:42 AM) If they stick to the historical time line there is going to be a lot of Chicago action soon. Capone's brother is dead and Torrio just got cheated on the Brewery... Its not really a spoiler, but I wont spell it out. That's OK, because I did. Two posts up.- 2013 TV Thread
QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Oct 23, 2013 -> 03:56 AM) Another real good episode of Masters of Sex. Still can't figure out exactly how Libby got....to what she is right now. I thought it was a ruse to get Bill to come clean, but now it appears it is real, and at 5 months in, what's the story here? Also, I am finding this season of Boardwalk pretty boring. I can't believe Sunday was the 7th episode. It feels like it's only 3 or 4 episodes, I don't recall anything major happening so far, and no major battle developing. Well, O'Banion is about to go. And something is definitely going down with Chalky, Narcisse, and Purnsley soon. I wouldn't be surprised if they kill off Chalky.- 2013 Films Thread
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 23, 2013 -> 07:03 AM) http://www.boxoffice.com/latest-news/2013-...an-movie-happen Is bringing Wonder Woman to the big screen the best chance for DC Comics to get back in the game? Is this article overreacting to the success of movies like Gravity, Bridesmaids, The Blind Side and The Heat...? How much of Gravity's success is really about Sandra Bullock and how much it is simply the great special effects/CGI/3D/cinematography of Alfonso Cuaron? Who would you get to direct? Is there another version of Megan Fox with stellar acting ability? It can't Anne Hathaway or Jennifer Lawrence, probably, because they're already tied into Batman/X-Men roles. Also a probable no for Scarlett Johannsen. The role would seem to call for someone we associate more with being a brunette. Eva Green? I don't think Emma Stone is quite sexy enough for a role like that...or has the requisite "Marilyn Monroe" figure. Angelina Jolie's perhaps nearing the point where she might be considered too old for that particular role. Is there an actress who looks like Adriana Lima but with the actual ability to act? What about Hispanic or Asian actresses? Is it possible to go for a non-white Wonder Woman? Would that be accepted? If that was the case, I would go with either Eva Mendes, Li Bing Bing or Fan Bing Bing, after giving a moment's consideration to Michelle Rodriguez, but would actually prefer the Israel Mossad officer, Gal Gadot, who was in the last two F&Furious movies (then again, she might be a little too tall/model-like/lithe and not quite strong enough). Are these actresses or pandas?- Jim Leyland stepping down
QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 21, 2013 -> 06:17 PM) They are crazy is what they are. It's why sports figures deserve the big bucks they get. The only way to shut everybody up is to win. Sounds simple, but it is true. The Tigers completely have been dominating the division, but they haven't been able to take it all, so eventually the fans tire of the guy. He's a great manager. I wonder how old he is. Would love for the Sox to get him after next season when Robin is done. You clearly have access to that information, you used a computer to post this. He's 68. I looked that up while posting.- Jim Leyland stepping down
