  1. sister gammons stated this first, but then said that both chicago teams were possibilities along with the angels and i think boston.... st louis is the newest one on the list but they have less money than we do for his contract
  2. Did you guys know that 6 mill this year and six mill next year are deffered in rj's contract? the sox loooove deffered contracts... this could only help!
  3. I only wonder how much money it would take from yankees for colangelo to forgive george..... for if there is enough money, they can BUY the talent they want
  4. the black looks alright... but the blue looks out of place with it
  5. why would we want sullivan again? he obviously didnt want to be here last off season.... might kill chemistry
  6. ozzie thinks that since diaz did well against the scrubs he should use him agian
  7. i would lean towards rauch game 2 not game 1 mind you..... looks like diaz may have the edge
  8. anyone proposing to trade jose should be shot -- on another note, did you know there is another carlos lee in our farm system?
  9. why would detroit trade their young catcher?? to a division foe????
  10. MO-less does hurt a bit... but i do recall a fair amount of disdain over him leaving because of his defense... but anyway zaun would definitally cost prospects... toronto is looking to semi rebuild ...... schneider i dunno.... do ya think mlb will be doing much before they sell the team to its new owners?
  11. OK... so if we are fine with sandy/burke/davis then why oh WHY was everyone crying foul over MO leaving it's not like i am saying get kendall or die, but i think it would be good to be proactive and get some help before we need it and get screwed..... now that someone mentioned it..... Zaun would be a decent pickup for the right price.... plus he hits the sox very well so that would be a plus
  12. i hate reporters that just speculate... ortiz was crying again to be traded so the writers dream up who they could trade for
  13. so you all think that we will be fine with sandy/burke/davis even if sandy goes down sore/ injured?
  14. yes, a serviceable catcher is all that is required, but if we got kendall for little of nothing with the right trade wouldnt you consider it ? i'm just concerned that too much load will be on sandy and if he goes down, we become even weaker at catcher
  15. i fully agree that the garcia trade was worth it.. but kenny needs to get another catcher.... if it isnt kendall, so be it, but need more stability than an old catcher and a perenial minor league catcher/utillity --- if alomar goes down do you feel comfy with only burke/davis for the pennant run and post season???
  16. Burke just doesnt have the same offensive potential that MO did/does.... and to rely on sandy for that and maybe davis is not smart yeah sure, burke's average is high right now, but that is on limited playing time... his average in AAA is almost 60 points below mo's average. even ryan hankins in AAA has a better average, even considering that is AAA pitching
  17. see... alomar is our backup.... so unless burke suddenly gets a performance boost and takes the situation over, we need a main catcher now the only thing that we can hope in current situation is walker can work a miracle with davis
  18. of course, on another note, the m's are likely to send veteran pat borders back to the minors... maybe we can have two old catchers!
  19. my reasoning is simple.... sandy wont last the season used for more than 2 games per week, with occasional 3 eight knee surgeries and at least one on his shoulder and creeping towards 40..... not what you want to count on down the stretch
  20. i want some of what youre smokin
  21. and to think... some people complain about rooney/farmer.... BAH! i, for one, enjoy farmer's analasys...
  22. Has anyone noticed the state of colon and ponson this year? abysmal mostly... its good kenny did not get them.... yes, garcia has a loosing record this year, but that i think is more a lack of offense in seattle this year. guess we will find out!
  23. If im not mistaken, the sox rank almost last in throwing out players stealing bases? (INCLUDING MO) Yeah, it stinks to loose MO, but i dont think we are that much worse... I highly doubt that seattle will pursue garcia this offseason unless he is willing to take a pay cut.... why do you think they traded him? they were mandated to cut sallary.... i look for more players to be gone before the deadline I like this trade, too, because it takes the pressure away from deciding to keep or trade maggs to atlanta.... atlanta wants to have better payroll value, so we wouldnt get estrada anyway
