  1. ...... Ordonez isnt going anywhere yet. KW has been honest on air about situations, without giving away details, and said that neither maggs nor his agent have said he is walking away....... sun times just wants to get fans in an uproar!
  2. how long does grilli have to be on the 25 man roster to keep him?
  3. iirc, darrell may fared very well against the sox, and other teams too... he could be the ace..
  4. If the redsox are still trying to move nomah, theyre beeing pretty sneaky... MLB.com story
  5. we need pitching, but maggs has consistently been a large part of our offense, and pitchers will not replace that, so if we get nomah, i say keep nomah.... make texas take jose or kotch
  6. Just a thought.... anybody have any idea what oakland plans to do for a SS since tejada is gone? maybe we could fleece billy boy into taking jose??
  7. As I suspected, the ARod deal is NOT dead, however Boston cannot negotiate with AROD himself... nothing saying boston and texas cannot negotiate..... once again, IF it goes down, I wonder if there is any chance kw could get some cash considerations in the deal, letting valentine be on the bench, while not sucking up so much payroll
  8. .....the good 'ol JB is not with a team now.... dont forget fred manrique and harold baines
  9. maggs is worth more than just perez and mota... maybe even more than that package plus 2 prospects.....
  10. selig said that arod and boston had to stop negotiations on contract stuff, but said nothing about a different deal i still wonder if boston wont trade for him, with the understanding that they pay him the salary due him this year, with the agreement that next year, his first chance to opt out of the deal, he opts out and then re-signs a new deal
  11. weather nomar ends up here or elsewhere, I cant see him going back to boston, unless they appologize by giving him his 4yr 60mil deal.
  12. I am not willing to give up on koch just yet.... last time the sox gave up on their struggling closer, he returned to be lights out and is now in boston...
  13. thats what they get for shooting themselves in the foot!
  14. it would if boston agreed to pay part of nomah's salary! hah... that would be the day!
  15. seattle's signing of spiezio seems to cut likelyhood of valentin trade....
  16. If nomar is angered to the point of needing to be traded, what do ya think about shipping maggs and valentin and prospect or two to boston for nomar and williamson and damon?
  17. mlb.com's top free agents, under arthur rhodes
  18. As i saw earlier, rhodes has an offer from the sox and the a's and braves, closest to deal with the braves, but it looks like the A's might change their mind as they are about to aquire chris hammond from the yanks.... perhaps we have a chance after all
  19. i am still somewhat surprised that texas wouldnt be interested in taking jose from us in the arod/manny deal, rather than signing walker and moving young.
  20. from what i heard, it sounds like there was some cut in salary, a little deferal, but mostly allowing arod out of the contract earlier than the last 3 years....
  21. I think it may be an interpretation of the rules of mlbpa.... the rule says no cut in pay unless benefits of equal value are given to the player, and that may be what selig rules on, or sends to arbritrator, since the player and the teams had agreed to the deal
  22. I dont have an issue with whitesox.com not saying anything about the deal yet.... too much info could kill a deal
