My guess is they are still negotiating the details of the contract with Ozzie and they are holding off any announcements until this is finalized.

Hahn said he wasn’t a candidate to fill Ricky’s position. He never said he wasn’t coming back. Who thought LaRussa was coming back? No one saw that in their crystal ball until a month ago.

Do we know if they’ve talked with Ozzie about bench coach? He would be perfect and provide a natural successor to LaRussa when he retires in 5-10 years.

Great hire! Also, this hire has to help our odds of getting an extension done with Giolito in the offseason!

I'd still like to see Ozzie Guillen given a chance as bench coach. I know Hahn had said no to manager.....but he never said he wouldn't be on the staff and I think he'd be a great addition!

Ozzie would have clearly been my #1 choice. However, if that wasn't going to happen, this is a good second choice.

If Hahn isn’t smart enough to believe this is a great move that gives us the best chance to win, maybe he shouldn’t be the GM. I believe he’s fully onboard though and realizes this hire is a slam dunk.

I think there are many more fans than just me that want to give us the best chance at a World Series title in 2021 (or whenever the next season is played)

I know they said that initially but they haven't referenced him since the day Ricky was dismissed. It leads me to believe that something is happening on the down low. We can be hopeful!

Things have been quiet on the manager search lately and this makes me believe that Hahn is operating in a stealth manner and talking to Ozzie about the opening. Anyone else think this may be in the case and we may get a surprising announcement sometime this week? I know this would make Chance the Rapper happy!

I used to believe that.....however, I now believe it’s Tony’s job if he wants it. And if we aren’t getting Ozzie, I really don’t think it’s a bad fallback option. The biggest problem this team had this year was bullpen management and that has never been a problem with LaRussa teams.

Both these men seem to be hated by the majority of the board. However, I feel Tony would still be a huge step up from Ricky if leading this team next season. I’m curious of the opinions of others in this comparison.
