QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Aug 23, 2013 -> 01:07 PM) It's a Cadillac man. That's part of the look. You really want to see how bad the back end of a car can look check out the new Corvette Stingray. Stunningly pretty car that is actually ruined by a vulgar tasteless back end. Think about the standard of vulgarity for a Corvette and how bad something would have to be to be considered "too vulgar". I'm not going to comment on Tesla anymore. There's all sorts of incredible things happening around the auto industry and the fascination people have with a niche manufacturer (not even the coolest niche manufacturer either, look up Morgan) takes attention away from some much more interesting changes. Yea, Morgan is awesome in a "Lets not forget about the 40s" kind of way http://www.morgan-motor.co.uk/mmc/range2.html lol That Caddy Concept looks like a cadillac got busy with a Sebring
  2. QUOTE (The Critic @ Aug 23, 2013 -> 10:02 AM) It always made me sick that leagues allowed teams to get away with loading up for the playoffs. It's disgusting to play the season within the rules only to face an A-league team when the cash is on the line. I guess I can't blame the cheaters - if people like that can get away with something, they usually will try to. If I ran a league I'd have a drivers license check before every game. Arlington Heights does roster checks before playoff games now because of the complaints. So, I actually do have to bring my drivers license to games.
  3. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 23, 2013 -> 11:01 AM) So basically Rose is f***ed no matter how you slice it he got a lot of hits so who cares everything else is irrelevant and inconsequential
  4. QUOTE (Vance Law @ Aug 23, 2013 -> 04:17 AM) Where you two seem to be talking right past each other is on the point that Rose never bet on his team to lose. If he was doing anything to "affect the game", it was to win. Just like a non-gambling player. His story has changed so many times, I dont believe that for one minute. He was a gambler, pure and simple, anything for an edge.
  5. Danks looked safe. I want to see a replay Edit: looked like at least a tie

It is what it is. We all know if Bale could have been convinced, he would be batman. I preferred Armie Hammer, but they wanted an older actor. Whatever. If Snyder does a good job and the script is solid, Affleck will be fine

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 22, 2013 -> 08:50 PM) You just ruined my night. And my wifes. I'm here all night, please try the fish and remember to tip your waitress

So, Ben Affleck is probably Batman http://m.usatoday.com/article/news/2690301
  9. Good luck to you good sir. Hopefully you don't have to play right
  10. I follow cubs facebook on twitter. It is nonstop laughs whenever roster moves are made
  11. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Aug 22, 2013 -> 03:11 PM) Speaking of Maggs, holy s*** I had forgotten that he had a near MVP season for Detroit in 2007. Hit .363 with 28 HR, 139 RBI, but finished 2nd in MVP to a roided up ARod who hit 54 HR. Im not willing to discount the fact that Magglio could have been roiding himself.
  12. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 22, 2013 -> 02:03 PM) Oh, Aaron Hernandez indicted on murder. *shocked*
  13. is he The Truth?
  14. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Aug 22, 2013 -> 12:44 PM) Or seeing as Brazil boosts the largest iron ore mining company in the world he can be Andre " The Iron Giant " Rienzo. We had a Bronze Titan and have a Tank . I think i like it better than just "The Giant" seeing as I like The Iron Giant movie better than the wrestler. this post has been caulfielded. (caulfeld?)
  15. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 22, 2013 -> 12:20 PM) I actually don't hate that as a topic. I dont mind it as a mention. ESPN is making it a story. He shaved his head because his hair was going away, thanks now lets move on *true words spoken from a fellow balding man*

Im just biding my time until Agents of SHIELD starts. Shortly after that is Walking Dead, then Shameless, then GoT. Dexter is almost done, but I havent been nearly as focused on that as I usually am
  19. QUOTE (HeGone7 @ Aug 22, 2013 -> 09:51 AM) I know this topic has been brought up numerous times over the year, and several times over the last 60 days, but again how is this guy not a hot commodity right now? He hasn't really slowed down much since May 31st, and although his power numbers have dipped since the ASB he is still productive. Is this a case of just pure caution? Is it his contract? Is it just teams holding off until the very last minute to avoid giving their competition a chance to react? I guess I'm just surprised by the lack of activity. Maybe not surprised nothing has happened but to just hear crickets regarding any trades at all. The whole story at the deadline was the deadline is too early now because of the 2nd wild card and too many teams were in the race so the August deadline would have some excitement. Now I think it is more defined as to who is in it and it is too quiet. Hey, we are arguing about gambling here. Any attempts to stay on thread topic will be ignored and further subject to instant banning
  20. QUOTE (TheBigHurtIsBack @ Aug 22, 2013 -> 08:19 AM) Once again... it has nothing to do with him PLAYING. Gambling has nothing to do with playing ability. This seems to be difficult for you to grasp for some reason. Sports players are not bound to being role models. I think Barry Bonds is a piece of s*** but had he never come under the suspicion of steroids you'd better believe he'd be deserving of being in the hall of fame. Was what Rose did disgraceful? Absolutely. Did it, at all, illegally alter or affect what he did on the field? No. What you do as a player on the field is first and foremost what is most important, otherwise the HoF is irrelevant. Sorry, but having a different viewpoint does not make me wrong. That's like saying that something simply being a rule or a law automatically makes it right. That's some very naive thinking. Pete Rose is the all-time hit leader and nothing suggests he went to anything illegal to do so, merely ability. He should be in the HoF. That's my opinion. Im sure a compulsive gambler wouldnt do anything to affect a bet he made when he has full control of the game. Nothing at all. We all grasp what you are saying, Pete Rose got a lot of hits therefore he should be in the hall of fame. Unlike you, we also grasp the fact that Rose broke multiple rules that make sure he will never be in the hall of fame. Shoeless Joe is in the same category.
  21. Last I checked, Pete rose gambled on a game he played IN THE FIELD. And also gambled on a game he managed ON A FIELD. So, all of his hits aside, what he did affected what happened ON THE FIELD, thus canceling his chance to get in the hall of fame. You don't have to agree. That's the way it is. You are wrong, Pete Rose was wrong, the Hall of Fame is right.
  22. QUOTE (TheBigHurtIsBack @ Aug 21, 2013 -> 05:16 PM) I don't give a flying f***. Being in the HoF is about what you did as a PLAYER. Sports stars are not role models by default; that it their decision. Based on what he did as a BASEBALL player, he should be in the BASEBALL HoF. Period. Absolute nonsense if EVER I have heard it. Like I said, you are in the baseball HoF because of what you did as a baseball player. PED's can alter your natural ability and help you put up artificial numbers as a player. Obviously gambling does not. Sorry wite, but I can't do anything but laugh at a post this silly. Once again, AS A PLAYER, he gambled on games, affecting outcomes. He broke the first rule in baseball and is paying for it.
  23. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 21, 2013 -> 03:52 PM) How can you be a Sox fan and say those things about Ozzie? Pretty harsh. I mean this is big boy sports. We won it all finally cause we had a big boy manager. Ah, a big boy manager who used his sons twitter account and a hack journalist to rip on his employer. Thats pretty big boy
  24. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 21, 2013 -> 02:29 PM) This response makes me angry. when you scream angry unintelligable things at Garpax, it sounds like "RRRRZZZZZZZZAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!"
  25. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Aug 21, 2013 -> 01:54 PM) So there are a ton of rumors that Miami is about to get hit with sanctions. scrub, rinse, repeat
