QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ May 16, 2013 -> 03:54 PM) Do you like medieval themed stuff? Because it's really more about knights/ladies and castles than fantasy. The fantasy stuff is really on the fringes. And politics and intrigue. That is the hook for me, seeing all of these people scheme for power

Wrong guy to make fun of vegetarianism to - I would love to see more vegan/vegetarian options at professional sports stadiums, so I would support that. Sox Linked to Dominican Slugger
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 16, 2013 -> 08:43 AM) Why does this matter? You can predict with certainty that when this kid, who is currently 16 years old, is ready in probably 6-7 years, the White Sox lineup will be RH dominant? QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 16, 2013 -> 08:54 AM) He plays whatever position you want him to play. He's 16. What is worth knowing is that he's 6'3" 225 at age 16 and impressed scouts by hitting the ball out of the ballpark while taking BP. He's 16. He hasn't played much in the way of organized games or had serious coaching, but 6'3" 225 and a power stroke is fairly projectable. How old is he?

In the event of a rebuild, stop comparing the Sox
QUOTE (KPBears @ May 16, 2013 -> 12:16 AM) Pods was better in 2005 (particularly the first half) than Viciedo will ever be. I know it's cool to bash Podsednik on this site, but the Sox wouldn't have won the division, let alone the Series, without him. He slowed down with injuries in the second half, but in the first half he was hitting around .300, collecting a fair amount of walks, and stealing bases at a pace not seen since guys like Henderson, Raines and Coleman back in the 80's. I agree with quite a bit of the Sabremetrics approach, and I'm a huge on-base guy. But there are some intangibles that can't be measured, and a leadoff hitter who can get on base regularly and is a threat to steal every time on base gets in most pitchers heads, and makes things easier for the rest of the lineup. Sorry for the rant, but I will never understand why so many Sox fans hate on Pods. Kind of hard to make that definitive statement when Viciedo has only played 2 years in the majors total

5/15 White Sox @ Twins, 12:10 WGN
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 15, 2013 -> 01:38 PM) Twins' announcers now bemoaning the fact they don't have a prototypical leadoff hitter like Rickey Henderson, lol. Well, Revere and Span weren't bad at all, but they got too expensive...and they also felt Hicks had more potential, but, this one game against the Sox notwithstanding, seems he was rushed a bit and might eventually go down to AAA. Span I will give you, but Revere wasnt expensive. The guy has only been in the majors a few years, they had a few arb years left, FA in 2018. he is only making 515K right now

2013 Cubs catch all thread
It isnt as if Rizzo has a Soriano albatross contract. It is a long contract, and he is paid well but not outlandish. It will most likely work out for both sides
