Im looking for some ideas, I am planning on making some next week between Christmas and New Years. I usually use Bobby Flays Rib Rub recipe, but I typically end up eating most of the ribs by myself because it is a little too spicy for my wife and kids. I like heat, but looking for a little bit of a milder recipe. Any and all ideas will be considered. I am a big fan of doing an overnight rub so the it really gets absorbed into the meat. I have pre boiled the ribs before as well, but you really lose a lot of the pork flavor when you do that. What say you?
  2. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Dec 18, 2012 -> 08:38 AM) At least it was personal and not content related. Sheesh. Which way do you want it Marty, you yourself said that you dont agree with Soxtalk conventional wisdom and group think. Why are you surprised when people argue with you
  3. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Dec 18, 2012 -> 08:09 AM) Courtesy of the one and only Jimmy Clausen Jimmy certainly has time to do things like this
  4. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Dec 18, 2012 -> 07:45 AM) Danks will be fine, but no one on Soxtalk will say he'll throw 190 innings. Why did I get jumped on for saying I don't think he'll come back from the surgery as good of a pitcher as he was before? Saying Danks will not throw 190 innings is not the same as saying he wont come back as good as a pitcher as he was before. 190 innings would be quite an accomplishment from Danks coming off shoulder surgery, I certainly dont foresee him hitting that many innings this season. That doesnt mean I think he will be terrible, but I think 190 innings will be stretching it. You got "jumped on" because you consistently say the worst things will happen with White Sox players.
  5. QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 18, 2012 -> 03:13 AM) To the nonbelievers out there, what do you think of Obama being our "pastor in chief" the other night? Not trying to rub it in, just wondered if you were outraged or think his words quoting scripture and mentioning heaven, etc., were offensive to you. http://religion.blogs.cnn.com/2012/12/17/m...hief/?hpt=hp_t2 Greg, nobody here is saying that Obama being a religious man or that speech is offensive. Huckabee(and you) is saying that the removal of god from a public school is the reason that this happened. That is absolute bulls***. This isnt a matter of believing and non believing
  6. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Dec 18, 2012 -> 12:03 AM) I always read your s***ty replies and think, "Wow, I can't believe this guy is an admin". Oh crap, I made a personal attack on your replies. Sound the troll alarms. *Ban forthcoming* you didnt get banned.
  7. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Dec 17, 2012 -> 06:48 PM) Hey, consider yourself lucky. I got banned in the aftermath of being wrongly accused of trolling. Worlds smallest violin plays the worlds saddest song for this guy. Just like always, your definition of a word is vastly different than everyone else's
  8. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 17, 2012 -> 08:09 PM) Am I the only one who never thought Flair was entertaining? He has had his moments, but he gets super stale
  9. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Dec 17, 2012 -> 06:03 PM) my life doesn't depend on it either, the players lives depend on it. They SHOULD want to play their hardest to get into the playoffs and win a superbowl. When you see guys smiling and laughing with the other team in a game on which your playoff lives depend, not to mention your pride, it makes me think they lack heart. Even some players agree with me, I hear Matt Bowen talking about defensive players attitudes all the time. He says some of them like to give guys an extra pop when they hit them, not to try and injure them but maybe just to shake them a little. Because if the QB is shook that means he's scared, and when QB's get scared they start making poor decisions. And when Aaron Rodgers starts making poor decisions, the Bears win games. And when the Bears win games, the Bears could win a superbowl. How many times have we seen Cutler get flustered in the pocket? Nobody is talking about dirty hits that cause concussions and permanent injuries. I'm talking about hitting guys hard the legal and correct way. Maybe getting into their heads a little. Not slapping them on the back and sharing a joke. Kind of funny that you mention Bowen, because he quit the game after repeated concussion issues and said he still deals with the after effects. I know you dont mean they need to play dirty, but just because Peppers and Rodgers were joking around after a sack doesnt mean Peppers is playing with less of a chance to get to Rodgers because he likes the guy
  10. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Dec 17, 2012 -> 05:36 PM) Hey, maybe I'm wrong. It was just a thought. Wouldn't mind seeing a little more meanness out there. I'm reminded of an old quote about boxers: "I like em' mean. The meaner the better". I feel the same way about the defense I think players nowadays have more respect for each other because they see the previous generations breaking down from dementia and chronic pain, and they genuinely dont want to hurt each other as much as they did in the past. The NFL is trying to make the game safer, and the player recognize that. It doesnt mean there arent players out there that wouldnt gladly destroy someone coming over the middle, but you arent going to see Butkus clotheslines anymore
  11. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Dec 17, 2012 -> 01:56 PM) Second in sacks and they missed their best pass rusher for 5 games. They are in the top 5 in takeovers. Dom Capers is always gonna give up yards. I would put them in top 10-12 defenses in the league. Also as playing the Bears. All teams play bad offenses. The 49ers get to play 4 games against St. Louis and Arizona every year. They lost to the Rams and tied the Rams in their two meetings
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 17, 2012 -> 11:53 AM) Not a bad DH choice DKnobler ‏@DKnobler Carlos Pena agrees to terms with Astros. One year, $2.9 million, plus $1.4 million in incentives. It still hasnt sunk in that the Astros will be in the AL this upcoming season
  13. QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 17, 2012 -> 10:27 AM) What has Stephen Drew ever done to get $10 million for one year? Have the last name Drew. And I assume he is a Boras client like big brother JD
  14. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Dec 17, 2012 -> 08:53 AM) How Mason Crosby still has a job is crazy. The yips is a strange thing

Well, my wife was wrong. No dream sequences though, everything we saw, happened. And bye bye LaGuerta End of season thoughts: -Really good comeback season after multiple lackluster seasons and poorly finished seasons. -I was happy to see Dexter get to use his table more this season, it seems like that was missing a lot previously. -The Kashka brotherhood storyline was rushed. Isaak Serko should have been a chess game badguy for Dexter, instead he was brought in and ushered out in 4-5 episodes -Quinn is boring as hell. Even when he was doing crappy and illegal things for his stripper girlfriend, he was boring. -I dont think the "Deb is in love with Dexter" storyline is gone. I think Hannah comes back and truly makes Dexter choose next season. -it sucks that we have to wait until next September for the final season.
