QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 29, 2009 -> 12:52 PM) You don't think Fields could have been shopped last winter to get a much better prospect/player? As well as BA? Now they are scraps. In the offseason, Fields was taking over for Crede to the delight of all the Crede bashers. He was our starter with some promise. Now he's nothing but garbage on the trade market. You mean when both of their values were at an absolute low, with Fields coming off an injury year, and Brian Anderson coming off watching Wise taking CF down the stretch instead of himself? No, I dont think they could have gotten better prospects. Not at all

Ben Francisco going to the Phils just makes them that much better as well. The Phils are stacked, they were already scary, now they are over the top scary. Like Sylvester Stallone turn-my-hat-backwards over the top scary

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 29, 2009 -> 12:42 PM) A GM somewhere in Canada just peed down his leg. Is Brian Cashman vacationing in Toronto?

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 29, 2009 -> 12:40 PM) Great, so now we'll get nothing for Fields except some Class A ball guy or a guy like Kotsay. Bummer. I was totally hoping for Halladay too

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 29, 2009 -> 11:20 AM) The price for Lee is going to be lower than the price that the Jays are asking for Halladay. of course. And the price for Bedard SHOULD have been less than both of them IMO. But that is what Ricciardi is using as his base, so hopefully Lee will show him he will get nothing if he keeps asking for the moon
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 29, 2009 -> 11:17 AM) He shot for the moon and won't get anything if Lee is the one to move. And watch Lee reset the market for an ace.

Ricciardi watching his options dwindle

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 29, 2009 -> 09:22 AM) Would anyone be down with Alexei, Fields and Richard for Halladay and Rios straight up? Ricciardi laughs at your pitiful offer and counters with Alexei, Fields, Richard and the rest of the team for Halladay and Rios straight up

QUOTE (mmmmmbeeer @ Jul 29, 2009 -> 09:08 AM) Good riddance. From complaining about the clubhouse to complaining about playing time to now complaining about being demoted, all from a kid who has shown NOTHING at the ML level outside of one nice power run, he needs to go. Earning playing time isn't all about just putting up numbers imo, I think it also takes being a good teammate who knows their role on the team and doesn't complain. It would suck to lose two #1 picks in succession like this, but sometimes you just have to chalk it up to a learning experience and move on, which is what I think KW will do. 3. Lance Broadway to the Mets earlier this year

Josh has had plenty of different instructors trying to "fix" his swing. Maybe he just isnt able to adapt to a major league fastball and the game has pushed him out because he cannot adapt. Im not going to pin this on the White Sox inability to fix his swing, he has always had a hole in his swing. QUOTE (103 mph screwball @ Jul 29, 2009 -> 07:37 AM) Can't blame Josh. Maybe he can get trade to a team who might actually be able to FIX his swing. First Brian and now Josh. Is this a case of two weak minded young players or should the Sox organization examine themselves and figure out why guys like these did not succeed. Is it Ozzie? Is it the minor league instruction? Walker? AJ!? Please Please figure this out before we are talking about Beckham or Mitchell wanting out of town in a few years. Yes you can. Absolutely you can. The guy knew what it took be in the bigs since 2007, he knew what he needed to do to stay, and he did not. You can only throw a guy out there so many times to whiff against BP fastballs before you call it quits, and if he is not taking the instruction from practice to game, then something is wrong, and for once I am not going to be the guy who blames Walker.

QUOTE (CryptviLL @ Jul 28, 2009 -> 08:53 PM) wwe's a joke, why do you intelligent people watch it anymore? You guys are better then that, stop supporting a show that does the same thing every single year, and caters to kids. as opposed to......? TNA is just as big as a joke, trying the same stuff WCW and WWE were pulling 10 years ago

QUOTE (soxfan3530 @ Jul 28, 2009 -> 11:33 AM) Levine just said that the Sox may be looking at Chad Qualls of AZ. Post #4

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 28, 2009 -> 11:41 AM) Let's specify here...by "Most", you mean "61%" based on the most recent data. 39% of murders in 2007 went without convictions. And probably a fair number of those were wrongful convictions, based on the overturn rate we see these days. He's got a legit shot. there is nitpicking facetious arguments, and then there is Balta

QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 28, 2009 -> 10:20 AM) I really think if I wanted to, I could get away with murder. Yeah, most people that commit murders think this way. And they dont

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 28, 2009 -> 09:41 AM) I'll be avoiding the next 2 games to save myself from the stress. Hopefully I'll wake up each morning with a pleasant surprise. everyone likes to wake up to pleasant surprises

QUOTE (spiderman @ Jul 28, 2009 -> 10:19 AM) Why? Are you suggesting that Riccardi should take what he considers to be less than his full worth just to make a deal? I agree with what IamShack said, and would like to add that the longer Ricciardi drags this out(meaning, into the offseason and up to the trading deadline next year), the value of his return gets smaller and smaller, to the point where he is getting back 2 draft picks and nothing else. I understand Halladay is worth a lot. Teams out there are offering a lot, and Ricciardi is using Bavasi's idiocy as proof that he can get more, in the end it will not help him.
-
If Halladay stays, I think Ricciardi has totally failed

QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 27, 2009 -> 09:30 AM) I was watching one of those documentaries when I was overseas once and it made me feel really bad. So I was thinking, hey, maybe I'll try not to eat meat for the sake of these animals. But they were serving ribs in the cafeteria that day, so... I dont even want to argue about it. You dont like to eat meat? Fine, thats your life. I am happy doing what I want to do. I eat meat, and I dont feel like anyone else needs to worry about it. You want to cut it out of your diet, good for you.

QUOTE (whitesoxmanager @ Jul 25, 2009 -> 11:00 PM) some interesting commentary. much appreciated. to be honest i just try to live the rest of my life realizing that living life scared, in pain, or suffering is ZERO fun. whatever sacrifice i must take to assist i will try my utmost to do so. those who scrutinize give me more strength. MB is productive how when hunting? whatever sheeple... This is funny coming from a guy who was convinced not to eat meat from watching a PETA documentary. Very funny.
