  1. Anyone see the commercial on HBO for the new comedy series "Eastbound and Down" with the guy who played Red on "Pineapple Express"? Looks pretty funny
  2. QUOTE (scenario @ Feb 8, 2009 -> 05:47 PM) Ohh man. I've had a bad habit of that lately. Happens when I'm on the road and don't get as much time to read the board. Sorry. I could care less, just givin you a little crap QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Feb 8, 2009 -> 11:07 PM) At least he's not going to be with the Twins. It isnt a done deal yet
  3. See more funny videos and funny pictures at CollegeHumor.
  4. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 8, 2009 -> 06:12 PM) Some of the reports I read said he was signing autographs and taking some pics before the incident. this is the story that Brooks quoted http://www.prowrestling.net/artman/publish...le1004514.shtml Jericho is going to catch a lot of hell for hitting a girl in the face. I think he called her a g**k too
  5. the title of tonites episode is "Murray takes it to the next level" just thought everyone should know
  6. QUOTE (scenario @ Feb 8, 2009 -> 05:25 PM) Crede’s asking price closer to $7 million From the Minneapolis Star Tribune 2/8/09 "Joe Crede is seeking a base salary of closer to $7 million than $5 million, which could decrease the likelihood that the free agent third baseman lands with the Twins, the Star Tribune has learned. A first-time free agent, Crede is willing to settle for a one-year deal, but he’s not looking for a discounted base salary, and he’ll want incentives that will pay him with other elite third baseman if he stays on the field. Adrian Beltre will make $12 million this year, and Eric Chavez will make $11 million. Those could be reference points. If $7 million guaranteed sounds steep for the Twins, consider that they offered Casey Blake a two-year, $14 million contract with an option for 2011 before he accepted his three-year, $17.5 million deal with the Dodgers. The Twins want to continue monitoring Crede’s workouts, but there are indications that Boras is deeper into negotiations with other teams. A San Francisco television station has reported that Crede has a one-year offer from the Giants. No word yet on whether the Twins have made an official offer, but they have had continuing discussions with Boras." pfffft post #18
  7. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 8, 2009 -> 04:16 PM) Sounds like Brooks is trying to make Jericho out to be the bad guy here. If some idiot fan can't distinguish an act between reality, they need mental help. Guy gets out of his car to sign autographs and than they assualt him. he didnt get out of his car to sign autographs, he got out of his car because a large group surrounded his car and started banging on his windows. And as for Brooks making him out to be the jerk, I disagree with that:
  8. So a bunch of fans got into Jericho's face after a taping and tried to fight him. And lost. http://www.sportsbybrooks.com/fake-wrestle...al-people-22222

    Films Thread

QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 8, 2009 -> 03:07 PM) I'm the biggest Sean Penn fan you're ever gonna find, but I was not blown away by his performance in Milk. Then again, I'm measuring it on the Penn scale, he's been much better in other films. By the way, did anyone happen to catch Rourke on Larry King last night? For whatever reason they brought some wrestler, doofus, Jericho(?) dude on the program. This guy challenged Rourke to a match and said he felt very offended by some things Rourke said about him. Seemed like it was all an act? Rourke kept his cool and took the high road, but that a hole wouldn't drop it. Weird. That Rourke interview happened a few weeks ago. WWE was trying to work Rourke into a wrestlemania match next month, and at first everyone thought Rourke agreed, but on the Larry King show he backed out. It was a work by Jericho, you could tell by the way he was speaking and the way he was trying to call out Rourke
  10. QUOTE (Texsox @ Feb 8, 2009 -> 03:22 PM) The United Center has choices. That was my point. The monopoly would really only come into play if the venues had no other choices. In the end it is the venues that decide how to sell their tickets. So when Microsoft was a monopoly and forced to break up, there were no other choices?
  11. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Feb 8, 2009 -> 02:44 PM) I believe in loyalty is all and I don't waste my energy on bashing Sox players present-past or soon to be past There is a difference in not bashing a player and consistently wishing the Sox would go sign Crede, as you have done all offseason. Its a shame that his back has given out on him and taken him to the point where the White Sox cannot risk signing him anymore, we all saw the promise and skills that he has, but its time to just let it go. He Gawn
  12. QUOTE (Texsox @ Feb 8, 2009 -> 01:30 PM) They get around it by not being a monopoly. Think about all the venues there are, the venues have a choice in how and where they sell tickets. Many have their own box office. I guess, but they really have no major competition at all
  13. QUOTE (Cubano @ Feb 8, 2009 -> 01:33 PM) OK, guys. I certainly understand where are you coming from. Keep in mind that I do not come here every day to bombard you guys with my Cuban crap. I do not want you guys to hate us, but to love us. Ha, ha, ha. I only come every time something may interest you the most. Having said that, I spend lots of time updating my blog. Obviosuly, I am trying to raise the profile and knowledge of Cuban players for the better of them. Maybe, some of you do not relate to this, but I certainly do. The reason I started my blog is because we are treated different than the rest of the world for the bad. I hope to make a small difference, but sometimes I feel I am in a losing battle with the baseball establisment. I have seen improvements though. I have seen article with the correct info on defectors now. In the past, all Cuban players played in the National team. After they bombed, Cubans were bad. I have videos about other Cuban defectors there. If I inform you about Viciedo once, then I do not have to come back here and let you know I have videos about Yadel Marti and Yasser Gomez in my site because you probably see it once you went to see Viciedo. I have met baseball agents, historians, journalists, etc on these forums. I am trying to get their attention. I hope an extra click is not too much burden on some of you guys. You never know who is behind a computer. Maybe KW or one of his surrogates is a member of soxtalk. I appologize for any extra click I may cause in advance. Your blog is in your signature, we have seen it and appreciate it. There is no need to funnel the posts through your site everytime you post an article on Soxtalk that you have already hyperlinked on your own site. Maybe your signature bigger if you want more people going to your site, or as Bob suggested, complete the hyperlink so we can go directly to the posted article instead of searching for it on your blog if we come to the thread late and it is already pushed down the page This isnt a battle against the establishment for us, we are fans of the Chicago White Sox
  14. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Feb 8, 2009 -> 01:57 PM) Does not compute. LOL, I was thinking of typing something similar, along the lines of santa claus, the easter bunny, and oceanfront property in Iowa
  15. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Feb 8, 2009 -> 01:47 PM) Anyone know of any good do-it-yourself moving companies? Considering price and all. I bet Bob Dylan is an expert now after the sh*t storm that happened with his move
  16. Crede asking for 7 million, not 5 million as previously reported
  17. If Abreu rejected the 8 million that the Sox supposedly offered, he must be kicking himself right now
  18. I wonder how Ticketmaster gets around being classified as a monopoly, especially considering this stunt where they are redirecting customers to their subsidiary scalping sites. They clearly have their fingers wrapped pretty tightly around the market
  19. QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 8, 2009 -> 12:05 PM) So in other words, he's a huge risk. yessir, I do believe that to be correct. Especially considering he is only doing his first showcase workouts within the last 2 weeks. And scouts are saying he only looks at 75%
  20. QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 8, 2009 -> 12:00 PM) I lost track of Crede's situation. I know he had flare ups after surgery, what's he done since to get his back healthy again? good ole rehab
  21. http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/phillie...ith_Howard.html
  22. QUOTE (Texsox @ Feb 8, 2009 -> 10:58 AM) fixed one and the same IMO. Although he may not have been in this predicament if he had listened to the White Sox medical staff and had the back procedure done earlier.
  23. QUOTE (BearSox @ Feb 8, 2009 -> 10:29 AM) maybe that's just how the state he went to school worked? Don't all states have different rules/laws determining when someone is suppossed to start school? Absolutely, he could have been held back because of his birthdate
  24. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Feb 8, 2009 -> 10:48 AM) He was turning into an all-star calibur player before his back acted up again. I don't think he's healthy. I didn't even realize he's already 30. Best of luck to him, but I wouldn't be surprised if he rested at least all of this season. Oh I would. Boras wants to get P-A-I-D and he is not going to unless Crede gets a contract
  25. So Vlad has no suspicion of roids at all? Is he a shoe-in if news breaks that he was also involved in Roids?
