QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 2, 2009 -> 06:42 AM) Well, the inevitable happened...just as Freida Pinto broke up with her fiance, Megan Fox finally dropped poor Brian Austin-Green of 90210 fame. If he had managed to marry her about 2 years ago, he would be set, with all those potential earnings from the Transformers series. It's like the Reese Witherspoon/Ryan Philippe or Jennifer Garner/Scott Foley thing...the law that stars should be very close in "prestige/power" or one will have to leave the other. I dont think BAG was counting on Megan Fox to be his cash cow. And the same for Foley and Phillippe. All three of those guys have made plenty of money on their own
  2. QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Mar 1, 2009 -> 09:22 PM) The economic picture and the layoffs at my job have people acting completely out of their minds. When the owner comes around everyone turns into a cut throat, kiss ass, performance monkey. Why not just carry a sign that reads: "I'm the best at everthing, everyone else here sux, please don't lay me off". People have no shame. Its called desperation. And I can tell you as someone who has been laid off and had to go home and tell his wife and daughter, there is no shame in trying to keep your job and insurance that covers your family.
  3. QUOTE (Texsox @ Mar 1, 2009 -> 05:01 PM) Way cool. The closest I have been to a big cat was at Big Bend a few years back. It was on the other side of a notch as we were backpacking. One of the Scouts spotted it. A Mountain Lion or a Jaguar? If it was a Jaguar, according to this article you guys saw something unbelievably rare
  4. In other news, the government is also releasing large jaguars near the border to help with the illegal immigrant problem
  5. QUOTE (knightni @ Mar 1, 2009 -> 03:06 PM) Ah yes, old WCW lives on forever. Vince McMahon can buy the league and dissolve it, but he can't buy our memories of it...yet. Oh he already bought the memories. And he is slowly selling them as DVD compilations
  6. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Mar 1, 2009 -> 02:37 PM) When you're a member of soxtalk, you're a member of soxtalk...4 life. nu uh, Wolfpac Soxtalk Viva La Raza!!!!!
  7. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Mar 1, 2009 -> 01:41 PM) I agree that Cutler has too big of a mouth on him, but wouldn't you be pissed if you were on the block after putting up the numbers he did last year for a QB with gigantic question marks surrounding him? Its a business, and he is a commodity. The entire Broncos roster is getting a makeover. People get traded, cut, released every day, and they cannot do a damn thing about it. Now Cutler wants to tell the Broncos that the rest of the team will mutiny if he is traded? The same guy who keeps telling everyone he is better than Elway? Once again. STFU

QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Mar 1, 2009 -> 01:46 PM) Conversely, it might be a FIAL if somebody fails to understand the concept of FIAL. If I was the only one, I would agree

QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Mar 1, 2009 -> 01:30 PM) FIAL: It is most definitely a FIAL if you have to explain FIAL when you FIAL someone
  10. Kyyle23 replied to greasywheels121's topic in SLaM
QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Mar 1, 2009 -> 01:13 PM) Guys, the spelling of FIAL was intentional. somehow I knew you would say this
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 1, 2009 -> 01:13 PM) I think this is a Soxtalk record... a guy getting thrown under the bus for two full innings in spring training. This has been a true Real Men of Genius. Congratulations go out to you Mr Sports Drama Queen Based on Minuscule Sample Size. "Mr can't-stand-the-mere-presence-of-pitchers-getting-shelled- in-spring-training guy!"
  12. QUOTE (lostfan @ Mar 1, 2009 -> 12:34 PM) Dotel had a handful of super megafail outings last summer which I think distorts peoples' opinion of him. I did laugh out loud at the quoting of some random messageboard chatter though. a 5 year old quote at that
  13. Jay Cutler just needs to STFU and stop thinking he needs to chime in on everything
  14. Dotel is also supposedly working exclusively on his changeup this spring, so he may get shelled a lot trying to nail it down. I remember in 05 everyone was worried about Contreras during the spring because he was getting shelled, and it turned out he was working on his different forkballs and also trying to stop tipping his pitches. It seemed to work out ok that year
  15. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3943660 Mr Bowden, please take your seat next to Mr Wilder and wait for your name to be called
  16. QUOTE (shipps @ Mar 1, 2009 -> 09:08 AM) No. If Loul doesnt have a stress fracture they wont make the playoffs. Did Tom Brady make a mistake by getting married? You crazy. The only place Brady can go from this point is down when it comes to ladies. I mean, he left smokin hot Bridget Moynihan for Gisele. Does KW pull off a surprise trade or signing before ST ends?
  17. No, TO will be cut around June and make a huge stink about it. If Luol Deng does have a stress fracture as rumored, will the Bulls make the playoffs

QUOTE (KipWellsFan @ Feb 28, 2009 -> 01:24 AM) This isn't directed by Del Toro by the way, so don't get too excited. I know, he had a hand in the production. And for that I will get a little excited
  19. Apparently Curt Schilling thinks he can solve the Cubs World Series problem
  20. QUOTE (rangercal @ Feb 28, 2009 -> 08:10 PM) Just trying a topic that has not been replicated 5 times already (apologies to once a month beer poll threads) Obviously we will not know our literal future of the next 50 years ,so this is a hypothetical question. Some of us have been members here for a while, a few since 2002(old timers) . Do you still see yourself as a member of this site when you're old and wearing diapers? My take I'm a sox fan and always will be a sox fan. I will always want access to the quickest source of white sox news. Currently, my quickest source for sox related news is soxtalk, has been for more than a few years. If the quality of the forum stays the same for 50 years, why would I not come here? I have also witnessed Soxtalk faster than Rotoworld on certain major sports news. I'm sure those of you who talk politics in the Filibuster can confirm soxtalk is a good source for breaking news in general. I have to thank posters like Kalapse,Steve,Knightni for breaking news quick. Even when its Amare/Kobe stories that turned out to be a waste of time. If there is a story that will be reported on ESPN, it is sure enought to get reported on soxtalk 15 minutes prior. I would also like to thank Kyyle23 for this thread on a Derek Bell mugshot that was released 2 years prior to your thread. lol jk Btw, I can seriously see Carl pick option #5 I aim to please. I liked my last post on that thread, it was validated.

QUOTE (longshot7 @ Feb 27, 2009 -> 06:14 PM) On another note, I'm impressed by the new U2 album. It's different, but I'm digging it. well it must be good since you know about music
  23. QUOTE (Scwible @ Feb 27, 2009 -> 11:54 PM) A few more.... that picture of danks looks like his left arm is growing off his right elbow
  24. I hope the kid just comes in all guns blazing so we can stop reading stuff like "It would have taken a Crede-esque dive at the ball to get it" This is going to be a year that will be annoying with Comparisons on this site. "Crede would have made that play", "Its too bad we dont still have Vazquez in the 5th starter spot", "Uribe's defense would be nice off the bench"
  25. QUOTE (Cubano @ Feb 27, 2009 -> 11:52 PM) Does anybody have the link for Viciedo HR? Thanks, I dont think it is anywhere. I waited last night on sportsnight and they just talked about it, no video highlights
