QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 19, 2007 -> 08:06 PM) At work. Would love a recap. Hawk said "If I would have told you in Spring Training that you would have a SS that hit 20+ homeruns and drove in 65-75 runs, would you take it?" DJ "Absolutely" Hawk " And thats the thing, with juan not so much......" And he went on to discuss the team option and how if they can find someone with equal defense and better at the plate of course they would have to replace him. It was just odd to hear him talk about Juan without his usual bias.

Damn, Hawk was just brutally honest about Juan Uribe and why a team does/doesnt need to be on the team. That was wierd

QUOTE(longshot7 @ Sep 18, 2007 -> 01:04 PM) from the ROH newswire: September 18th: Last Saturday in Chicago featured perhaps the bloodiest and most grotesque incident in wrestling history. Yes, we will go as far as to say wrestling history. A new faction emerged in ROH and quickly targeted ROH World Tag Team Champions Jay & Mark Briscoe. The new faction is known as The Age Of The Fall and consists of Jimmy Jacobs, Tyler Black, Necro Butcher & Lacey. The attack, which was taped for ROH's 3rd PPV, went way over the line and the footage will be pulled from ROH's 3rd PPV. This is not the kind of product that ROH wants to put on television. Once this was reported on the ROHwrestling.com message board, fans across the internet demanded to see the footage. Since this is a historical incident that will shape the future of ROH, it has been decided to include The Age Of The Fall bloodbath debut in the next ROH Video Wire. Look for the ROH Video Wire to be up Wednesday or Thursday for free at ROHvideos.com. This footage is not for the weak of heart and is not appropriate for all audiences. So I guess we'll see it after all. Is this a reputable source? I dont know if we should trust any of this, it could all be made up. ....

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 18, 2007 -> 11:11 AM) I had to convince a girl OUT of videotaping it once. Now some may call me crazy/a prude/both, but I didn't miss out on any fun by taking that stand, and NOTHING but bad can happen by taping it unless your famous and looking for publicity. Blackmail is a you know what. Nope, Im just gonna call you a liar

QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Sep 16, 2007 -> 09:02 PM) That is a great song. Not only that, but they are using the part of the song where they just break down and rage. Hum started me on a whole different path of music that I really never appreciated until the last 4 years. I listen to alot of bands who are similar to them now

http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/law/09/16/oj.simpson/index.html Has this guys life become any more of a catastrophe? If someone stole your stuff, call the cops. Dont conduct your own "sting operation" and hope the cops understand why you brought guns and stole that stuff back. And the guy blaming OJ then backing off the charges, wierd.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 16, 2007 -> 04:38 PM) Everybody can make fun of Wolfe all they want, but I can tell you right now that if he's in on 3rd down, he'll at least block the guy blitzing. I don't know if he can be an NFL running back or not, but he can block 10 times better than the 2 guys ahead of him in his sleep, and at least protect Rex. the wierd thing is that Adrian Peterson was known to be pretty good at protecting the QB the last couple of years, but this year he has been flat out awful. The blitz pickups have not been good and opposing defenses are probably going to continue pinning their ears back and rushing consistently until either Benson or Peterson start picking it up better, or until Rex starts making them play with some hot routes. If neither of those two happen, Griese is going to be playing anyways because Grossman is going to have a concussion or some sort of serious injury. Seriously, some of the shots he is taking are just insane, painful to watch.

I am really enjoying hearing Cadillac using the song Stars by Hum in their commercials. I love that band

The Giants are ridiculously bad this year. Green Bay is punking them like its the preseason starters vs backups.

Nice throw by Uribe, 2 nailed at home today. Come on Thome, #500 would be nice and clutch

This inning is turning out lovely. Which MacDougal is in the game now, Dr Jekyll or Mr Hyde?

QUOTE(knightni @ Sep 15, 2007 -> 05:34 PM) Fun stuff http://www.southbendtribune.com/apps/pbcs....4/1130/Sports01 A Howard Township (Michigan) woman is facing an animal cruelty charge after authorities discovered 85 cats at her residence. Another 30 dead, frozen cats also were removed from the home, as were two live dogs, said Patrick Fetherston, Cass County’s animal control director. This has to be some sort of mental condition. This is not the first time I have read or seen(on Animal Precinct) of a person who has excessive amounts of dogs or cats, as well as frozen deceased animals in the fridge or freezer.

Is is it bad for you that you look like Jeri ryan, or is it bad for Jeri Ryan that you look like her?

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Sep 15, 2007 -> 12:34 PM) I'm sure somewhere, someone has thought, "that'd be a b****ing miniseries." Personally, I wouldn't consider that horror, that series was almost science fiction (and f-ing amazing)... I would be a fan of that, or a fan of bring "Ender's Game" (Orson Scott Card) into a mini-series or a series. Can you imagine what kind of undertaking that the Dark Tower series would be? The stories are his master work, they pretty much encompass everything he has ever written, going back and forth in time. And Roland was based off of Clint Eastwood, who would play him now?

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Sep 15, 2007 -> 10:57 AM) HBO is willing to give that idiot Lisa Kudrow a show of her own yet can't take a risk with a genre they haven't touched in over 5 years? If anything, the success of recent horror movies such as Halloween -- in addition to the abundance of DTV releases -- should prove there atleast exists a market. How's this for something big -- recruit Stephen King to collaborate on a mini-series adaption of his Dark Tower series. Name recognition and the popularity of the series should be enough to draw viewers. This is the exact problem I've noticed for quite awhile. Their collection of movies has become rather stale. Just browse the moves available on On Demand. Largest cable television network and they can only muster 30 movies? Most of which are recent and crap? Not good. Encore has a much more diverse collection of movies. Both on the network and available through On Demand. Encore Mystery is probably my favorite channel. That would be absolutely phenomenal. They would have to do it right, probably transition to a movie. But i would love that

QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 15, 2007 -> 04:50 AM) Agree. And I didn't see it as complaining but more as shock. HBO has been the only pay channel that hasn't turned to soft porn to sell and keep customers. Guess they are feeling the sting of losing the Soprano's and had to do something drastic. I'm not complaining though. The show has great potential. they need to do the smart thing and order 50 more episodes of Flight of the Conchords and be done with it. That way they dont have to worry about lowering their standards to bring in more viewers. And that will make me a very happy person as well.

QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Sep 14, 2007 -> 03:56 PM) You know, I haven't been checking for any new hip hop since 2001 or thereabouts. I consider everything to be crap nowadays, but that's just me. Even Jurassic 5?

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 14, 2007 -> 03:53 PM) I did actually have some albums from those folks - I even liked some. I liked some RUN DMC stuff, way back when. Mostly, I like Hip-Hop that's fun - not this gangsta tryin to be a badass stuff. That genre, to me, is best when it doesn't take itself too seriously. I actually liked, even better in that time period, the hip hop fusion with jazz stuff. Diggable Planets, Us3, etc. One could even put Tower of Power in there, maybe. I love listening to GURU Jazzmattazz Volume 1 Volume 2 is so-so, and I think volume 3 was thrown together, but I love volume 1

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 14, 2007 -> 04:47 PM) I've been told I look a lot like Calista Flockhart which I think is bulls***. If I were to compare myself to anyone on Ally McBeal it would be Portia de Rossi but with a better ass. If you dont look like Mike Caruso when I meet you I am going to be sorely dissapointed. As for me, think Adonis. Without the muscles

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 13, 2007 -> 02:17 PM) ARod is not a possibility for the Sox. He's going to get 5-125/130 this offseason, and Boras is his agent. I don't even want the Sox to consider him. They have so many other holes to fill than what he would provide. I am not going to argue with you about it, but I do agree with Striker about Arod being a possibility. The way i look at it is this: Arod is going to generate a lot of money for the Sox, in ticket revenue, coverage, ads, etc. If Reinsdorf feels that the player is worth the money he is spending, and if anyone is than Arod is, then I feel that JR will make a play. He isnt above paying the best player in the league more money than anyone else, he has done it with Jordan and with Belle, and he will go for it if he sees the ending result as playoffs and more revenue. I understand that Boras is his agent, but I do feel something could get done. And I also feel that if Arod were to come aboard, it doesnt mean that the other holes will not be filled with competent players. If KW and JR are going to go for it, they arent going to make one big splash and then acquire 8 small frys. JM2cents

I think KW stays until he gets fired. Not one minute more. (hey, no one else was making sense in this thread, I thought I would play along.)
