  1. QUOTE(My Dixie Normus @ Mar 12, 2006 -> 06:36 PM) Washington now has Moss II, Brandon Lloyd, David Patten and El. That is a hell of a crew. I think Lloyd might take the number two spot. He is a solid deep route runner which leaves EL and Patten sharing 3 & 4. I just don't know how far Brunnell will be able to throw the ball. It can be pretty tough to drop back when you are using a walker. I don't think the Bears are in need of a WR too badly. I think Bradley steps up and wins the number two spot. David Patten - 5'10" Santana Moss- 5'10" Brandon Lloyd- 6'0" Antwaan Randle El- 5'10" This has to be the shortest group of 4 recievers in the NFL.
  2. QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Mar 13, 2006 -> 01:54 AM) Sorry i dont believe this MVC hype, have not all year. It was funny listening to the ESPN crews rip on them. My favorite was Digger calling the MVC final the most boring game he has watched all year. You must have missed when Joe Lunardi told Digger that he was drinking the Big East kool-aid yesterday when Digger was attempting to reason out why he doesnt like MVC basketball based on the evidence of one tournament game. And that is all Digger had as any evidence, the conference tournament game. And in the same sentence, Digger has the nuts to say that Northern Iowa's OOC wins against LSU, Iowa, and Iowa St arent to be considered because they were earlier in the year and LSU, Iowa, and Iowa St were different team back then. And then you have Jay Bilas telling us that he just "throws out" the RPI and SOS because they dont accurately rank teams, but yet, he tells us that the top 4 seeds in the tournament deserve to be the top 4 BECAUSE of their RPI and SOS. Its all a big f***ing joke. The BCS changed the RPI ratings to make road wins weighted more, and force the high majors to play other places. The MVC played by the rules and excelled, and they still get punished for it. When is the last time a team with an RPI of 19 was left out of the tournament? That is bulls***. The worst part about Diggers analysis of the MVC conference tourney, was that there are no conference tournament games that are "pretty" to watch. If your team is in the conference tournament, it means they played and won 2 games in a row and is now playing the third game in a row. Teams are going to be exhausted and play sloppy, it happens everywhere. You can laugh at Bradleys chances vs the Jayhawks, but if Bill Self takes Bradley as lightly as you do, they are gonna be walking out of the tournament after the first round again. Bradley has two kids that are gonna be in the NBA next year(unless O'Bryant decides to stay one more year, which is doubtful), they have a nice team and a coach who finally seemed to put it together in the last month and a half. Kansas has no easy game this week.
  3. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 12, 2006 -> 05:12 AM) Maybe much later in the draft. They now have Chester Taylor, Mewelde Moore, and Ciatrick Fason. Have they finally given up on Michael Bennett?
  4. QUOTE(The Critic @ Mar 12, 2006 -> 09:13 AM) OK, I just saw the Arctic Monkeys on SNL, and I'm completely unimpressed. Something about "You'd look good on the dance floor". I'd rate it as "average". Their image is nothing out of the ordinary either. They look like everyone else. I don't understand the big whoop about them. I saw it last night as well. I like the lead singers voice, I think he can do a lot with it, but they didnt have much in the way of stage presence last night. Are they all under 18 years old? And are they English or Aussie?
  5. QUOTE(Dam8610 @ Mar 11, 2006 -> 11:30 PM) Browns | Team signs every free agent Sat, 11 Mar 2006 14:03:14 -0800 According to Chris Mortenson of ESPN, the Cleveland Browns have successfully signed every unrestricted free agent in just over 24 hours since the start of free agency, 12:00 noon Friday. Browns General Manager Phil Savage has also managed to successfully have sexual intercourse with every eligible bacherlorette in that same time frame, much to the dismay of every other NFL general manager and Hugh Hefner. According to Mortenson, the Browns are now expected to challenge the Klingons for interstellar domination. Well I know this is all false. The Klingons never had interstellar domination. :headshake
  6. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Mar 11, 2006 -> 07:14 PM) Fwiw, an article I read this morning (probably on ESPN, but I don't remember) said the Redskins were aiming at BOTH Randle El and Lloyd. And I've heard that Randle El is the #1 target. Again, lots of misinformation is out there, take it fwiw. Randle El, Lloyd, and Santana Moss? I suppose Washington wants to stockpile all wide recievers 6 feet and under.

  8. It seems fitting with the disjointed way the entire season has played out. No continuity from start to finish.
  9. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Mar 11, 2006 -> 02:29 PM) I go to the real ISU. boo this man
  10. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 11, 2006 -> 01:12 PM) He's gonna get way more than he's worth. He's a mediocre 3rd receiver (AT BEST) who can return punts (NOT KICKS). Why in god sakes should a team pay him all this money. Givens is superior and will get far less money. People are really over-rating Randle El. Its unfortunate if Angelo ends up overpaying him, but the guy fills a few glaring holes that the bears have in a #2(even though you think he is no better than a #3, on the Bears he instantly is better than anyone except Muhammed) WR and punt/kick returner. And then the whole "Im from Chicago" thing isnt helping either. I hope Angelo doesnt overpay, but it looks very possible at this point.

  17. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Mar 11, 2006 -> 07:38 AM) For those confused by bmags comments, for some reason 95% of the music aficionados have not accepted Matisyahu as an artist. I know nothing about his past but expect him to be bashed. Ok carry on On a sidenote a few of my friends went to the New Pornographers and Belle & Sebastian concert last night. Said it was pretty cool. My best friend went to the New Pornographers as well. I havent talked to him yet, but I will have to ask him how it was.

  19. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Mar 10, 2006 -> 06:26 PM) No, I don't. I don't agree in the least. Freshman beat up day, when I was in h.s., never put someone in the hospital. It never went to that extreme or violent. So no I don't agree with you at all. Viagra could give you way more than a boner. Viagra was originally used and developed as a general blood-pressure lowering drug. This could have different effects on different people. Ex-Lax is not even in the same league as Viagra, and to answer your question, no it isn't damaging. A swirly is not in the same league either. It is not comparable. I don't agree at all. Maybe's, if's, and's, and buts. A kid in my school also superglued another kid to a bus seat and was suspended for a while. Did he sue? No. It was a different time. Still it is not Viagra. Not comparable. This kid is not suing anyone either, as far as I know. I can't think of anything that was close to what this kid did without the kids getting expelled. I don't believe this kid's parents got his lawyer involved and if they did it wasn't to sue. I don't see anywhere that states a lawyer is invloved. I would not get a lawyer either, and I never said I did, but the kid should be punished and it is up to the school if the authorities should get involved. I believe dealing with prescription drugs in that manner requires for the authorities to get involved. I could be wrong however. I dont believe I am right and you are wrong, or vice versa. I just believe we see it different. I know Viagra was initially developed as a blood thinner/heart attack prevention drug, and I know the differences vs ex-lax, but I think the intent is the same in both instances, to humiliate the victim, not really to harm them even though it is possible. To me, I see it as "When I was in high school, people slipped the dork some ex-lax at lunch time" and over just ten years it has changed to Viagra, similar to what hazing and freshman beatup day were when I was in HS(beat the kids rear until he was purple) changing to that debacle with the powder puffs girls football a few years ago where the girls were just getting beat down period. This discussion would have an entirely different feel if the kid had actually consumed the drug, Im sure.
  20. QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Mar 10, 2006 -> 05:50 PM) we need some new good lefties. The probelm is there harder to find than Fraggles. Hey, the shopkeepers dog always knew where they were.
  21. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Mar 10, 2006 -> 05:55 PM) I disagree that if something was done with drugs, such as tricking someone into eating a pot brownie, and authority figures found out about it that something more than just a detention was the only thing they received. You were going to get into more trouble than just detention. I remember stuff like that and someone getting in a whole lot of trouble for peeing in someone's lemon lime gatorade. Way more than just detention or suspension. That is what I stated. In both instances the kids were expelled from school. Then again I went to a Catholic School. You came up with Ex-Lax and swirlies. That is nothing compared to what this kid did and you were comparing the two. You did so by saying they were "equally as stupid", which is hardly the case and far from the truth. I am agreeing that hazing isn't allowed anymore and for good reason. It kept on getting worse and worse. It didn't stay at the same level it was when I was in H.S. Now do you know what I am saying? Well, you just pointed out to me the differences in punishment at a catholic and a public school. Junior year we got a liason officer in our high school, so things calmed down a bit, but we were still morons. Ok, hazing and freshman beat-up day are equally as stupid as slipping someone a boner with a viagra, dont you agree? The kids could both end up in the hospital, no? Does it all come down to medical attention that is needed? Is it not damaging to someones digestive tract to give them an entire bottle of ex-lax? Maybe the kid that was superglued to the toilet junior year could have sued, but he didnt. Like I said before, i am not condoning this kids actions whatsoever, it was stupid and irresponsible and potentially damaging. But there were plenty of times I can recall in high school where kids were doing worse things, and the school authorities would look the other way, or give out detentions or suspension. If I were the parent of the kid slipped the "mickey", I would ask for the school to punish in the fullest possible way, But I wouldnt call my lawyer. Thats just me though. I know how you feel about it, and i dont disagree, I just see it a little different in my own reaction to it.
  22. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Mar 10, 2006 -> 05:38 PM) I'm sorry, but I disagree. I never remember anything happening with drugs, illegal, or prescription, that didn't have higher consequences than this. Ex Lax is over the counter. Hardly the same. Swirlies? That is nothing. Times have changed. Hazing is not allowed anymore. It is actually a good thing because a lot of it was getting to be very very extreme and violent. It was not like how I recalled it being in high school at all. You disagree with what? Kids werent doing stupid s*** with drugs in your high school? Well, maybe your high school experience was different than mine, but there was a couple of things that happened in the two high schools I attended(West Chicago + Batavia), and many of them involved drugs, illegal and prescription. And when you are saying Hazing isnt allowed anymore, you are agreeing with me. That sort of stuff still happened when I was in high school, and it doesnt happen anymore because kids are taking it one step further nowadays. Sorry that you dont recall your HS being like that, but we all have different experiences.
  23. QUOTE(MarlinFan84 @ Mar 10, 2006 -> 05:35 PM) Im pretty sure thats not Hannah Teeter, at least the one we are talking about...the girl we are talking about is a young perky blonde snowboarder who is occasionally smoking hot that dresses punk. Yikes, this is her pic off of her NBC Olympics profile. The word frumpy comes to mind. Hopefully there is a better pic, because this is not a good first impression for me.
  24. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Mar 10, 2006 -> 05:21 PM) This doesn't seem harmless to me. Putting toothpaste in the soda is harmless. Putting hot sauce in the soda is harmless. Putting Viagra or any other drug in the soda is not harmless. Im not condoning the action or saying that I find it funny, at all. I just think that kids were doing equally stupid things when I was that age, and were sent home with detention or suspension for it instead of sending for attorneys. When I was in HS, it was the ex-lax pranks or swirlies or freshman beat-up day(which I am fairly sure was phased out when i became a sophomore). I mean, think about it, in Dazed and Confused the main character of the movie was laughed at by his own teacher when the seniors showed up with their paddles. If that kind of stuff happens today, its hazing and jail-time. I guess I was just pointing out the differences that I noticed, and stirred up the pot as a result.
  25. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Mar 10, 2006 -> 12:29 PM) This is kinda funny, because last night I didnt have much to do, so I spent about an hour and a half trying to update everything. I got everyone on there right teams for the most part, now im on to trying to update attributes on people. What a b****..... BTW, Javier Lopez is on the Rockies. Thats what I want to update, attributes. IMO Jermaine Dye was severely short-changed in MVP 05, I am curious what he would be after last year. Does that Mod page have a patch that I am supposed to download? Or is it like a word program with all of the updated stats and attributes?
