  1. The last 5 or 6 posts of this thread are hilarious. Carry on
  2. QUOTE(Steff @ May 24, 2006 -> 03:13 PM) Yikes... Dear lord, someone please explain to me WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED HERE!!!!!?????!!!?? Kevin Federline should be held accountable by the law for this action against humanity.
  3. The only reason I looked is because when you just look at a stat like that on a thread, it just looks so absurd that is cannot be right, I had to see it for myself.
  4. Just for arguments sake, how many of Bonds career homeruns were hit in 3 rivers stadium
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ May 24, 2006 -> 03:47 PM) The more this season goes on, the more I believe we're going to be in the market for a CF in a few months. Shall we go ahead and fire up Rowandtalk? Or should we just dust off Griffeytalk? (WWHP??)
  6. I just saw this one, which I found amusing
  7. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ May 24, 2006 -> 03:16 PM) We're 5-25 in Oakland since 2001? We have played 30 games in their stadium, and only 17 games at home? I don't know, I'm too lazy to actually look into this myself. Forget that I ever said anything. Its true, I just looked. 01 0-3 record at the Coliseum 1-5 record at home 02 0-6 record at the Coliseum 2-1 record at home 03 1-2 record at the Coliseum 3-3 record at home 04 1-5 record at the Coliseum 1-2 record at home 05 2-4 record at the coliseum 0-3 record at home
  8. QUOTE(GoSox05 @ May 24, 2006 -> 03:13 PM) things gonna suck bad on the north side. Fiesty, I luv it when you an-uh-lyze
  9. I noticed that you can see who is viewing the thread you are looking at. Very cool
  10. DJ mentioned Iguchi had a bruised foot
  11. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 24, 2006 -> 11:22 AM) good call. Is one of them crying out about his shoulder? yeah, Strahan was on the ground complaining. I knew it seemed wrong when i watched it. I thought to myself "How does Strahan break the single season sack record and then get put on the ground by Chris Rose?"
  12. QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ May 24, 2006 -> 10:38 AM) ^ Well then what do you do if Edmonds or Rolen jack a grand slam? Is it going to be a bases loaded situation every time that Pujols gets walked? The point he was trying to make was that in most instances when you walk Pujols to get to Rolen or Edmonds you are going to have a better chance, because Albert has almost 3 times as many HRs as Rolen and Edmonds do in half of the at-bats. At this point, its foolish to even consider pitching to Pujols because Rolen and Edmonds arent having close to the offensive year that Pujols is having, and to beat the Cardinals you have to make the other guys beat you, not let Pujols beat you.
  13. QUOTE(Spiff @ May 24, 2006 -> 08:18 AM) If you don't like Stephen A. Smith, then you don't like America. Perhaps you prefer Scottie Pippen's vanilla mumbling, or Mark Jackson's blatantly obvious observations? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA A*sniff sniff* That was funny.
  14. QUOTE(beautox @ May 24, 2006 -> 07:31 AM) Do you think it would be possible to get him? Not really. I think Matos would be the one to go out of the Orioles outfield before anyone else. The Orioles are trying to rebuild into something close to what they used to be and I think Patterson is part of that. QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ May 24, 2006 -> 08:00 AM) What are his walk and strikeout totals? 111 at-bats 19 Ks, 8 BB http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/stats?playerId=4239 he is having a pretty good season so far. Similar to the season he was having when he blew out his knee
  15. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 24, 2006 -> 08:01 AM) I was told that in his first AB Gene Honda announced him like he used to when he was on our team. I didn't even catch that when it happened. Oh yeah i caught that
  16. QUOTE(YASNY @ May 24, 2006 -> 05:24 AM) I think you guys are stretching to find a justification. In either case, the game was on the line one way or the other. I dont think the game was on the line for the white sox. If Pablo fails to execute, the Sox move on to the 11th. When Neifi failed to execute, the game was over. I dont really think Neifi was really stupid to try the bunt, especially if he thought the 3B or 1B was playing back and he could beat it out, but i think it speaks volumes for the "Cubs are pressing" theory and also i think it says a lot about Neifi's confidence at the plate. I dont think people would be sitting there calling Pablo stupid(Shamrock4life excluded) if the bunt was fielded cleanly and Pablo was thrown out.
  17. Does anyone know what the second special thing was supposed to be for Frank Thomas? Reifert mentioned the montage in his blog, and also said something else was going to be done for Frank that he hoped Frank would like.
  18. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ May 24, 2006 -> 07:26 AM) I'm glad they do though. I love watching the guy hit. Baseball's boring when they're just pitching around people constantly. It's kind of like what Wilbon says on PTI, how the game's sissified because of all that. The pitchers just need to learn how to keep him in the park. and after that, pitchers need to learn to how to fly, because that is just as easy.
  19. I will not be there, not surprisingly, for the 26th time this year. However, I will be there in spirit and watching from the eye in the sky, as always.
  20. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 24, 2006 -> 01:29 AM) Anyone remember a few years ago when some guy at soxfest asked about Pauly playing 3rd because it worked on his xbox? AWESOME! Fanboy makes an appearance at soxfest. I've gotta go next year!
  21. There is a reason they call him Screamin A Smith. His opinions are awful and street-based, he is all about hyping whatever the media deems hype-worthy.
  22. QUOTE(Shamrock4Life @ May 24, 2006 -> 07:00 AM) what does IIRC mean? If I Recall/Remember Correctly
  23. QUOTE(Soxy @ May 23, 2006 -> 09:16 PM) The new Dixie Chicks album is really good. A lot more mature than Fly and Wide Open Spaces and Home (I think that was their third one). It's a lot less blue grassy than the previous ones, but still distinctly Chicks. My wife was watching The View yesterday and she said that the Dixie Chicks refused to perform on the show and the girls from the View were ripping them left and right. What reason would they refuse to go on the View?
  24. QUOTE(beautox @ May 24, 2006 -> 06:33 AM) Anderson is only 24 and Patterson is only 26, I feel their defense is a wash. Patterson in my eyes has the potential to be a 30/30 caliber player and I think he might finally be living up to his potential at the major league level. I disagree with this. Corey Patterson has amazing makeup speed which allows him to correct fielding mistakes he is making as he is making them. He rarely gets good jumps on balls, and when they are hit straight at him he freezes a lot. Brian Anderson is much better defensively right now(as far as I have seen) then Patterson has ever been in his career. THat isnt to say that Patterson can become a better player, because the guy has all the tools(as reported extensively by the Cubs), but right now I think BA is the superior fielder. Offensively, hands down Patterson is better.
  25. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 23, 2006 -> 02:56 PM) Supposedly according to Hawk, KOtex boy has been New Comiskey Park once since it opened. Thats pretty amazing considering how many times he has commented in his columns on the condition and aesthetics in and around the ballpark. QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ May 23, 2006 -> 03:06 PM) Im a regular participant on a Cubs MB, and they don't like Mariotti, but they don't hate his guts. He is negative on the Cubs sometimes. I don't agree with the content of his work, but I agree w/ his style. It's obviuosly worked very fixed that for you
