QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 08:17 AM) HAHAHAHAHA I know, thats is some funny s***, pun intended. And if that didnt get him suspended, you gotta wonder what he did this time. The guy thinks he is fabulous though, what do you expect.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 04:57 AM) Yep that was the model for success last season, and I'd like to see our success rate for how many 2 for 3's we took last season actually. Let's hope Jose can get it done on the mound. Lee hasn't had a good ST, and hopefully we can get onto him. And on top of that, he is upset at management for not giving him a deal in the offseason.

It dont mean a thing....without that bling. I dont care if it looks class-ringy, that thing has more diamonds in it than any class ring not in the LA area. I think the Onyx really makes the Sox logo look classy with the inset diamonds. In fact, after looking at the other designs, I think that the Sox picked the least gaudy and tacky of all of them.

I cant wait to find out what constitutes as "unproffessional conduct" from a WWE wrestler. I know that sometime last year before Wrestlemania Orton was in big trouble for pulling a prank on a Diva which turned out to be him s***ting in her travel bag. And this was a girl who turned him down, so it was pretty bad for her for a while(so they say), I guess he wouldnt leave her alone until WWE had to intervene.

QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Apr 4, 2006 -> 09:59 AM) I can't believe that Andruw Jones made it to 50 HR. Atlanta and Philadelphia are nice parks to hit in, but the NL has like 7 of the best 10 pitching parks (Washington DC, New York, San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Milwaukee, Wrigley Field with the wind blowing in half the time, etc). I would expect that maybe one or two guys would reach 50 HR this year, and I'm really only looking at the AL East with all of those nice hitting parks (Alex Rodriguez, David Ortiz). Playing a good amount of games in Seattle and Oakland will hold Teixera back from hitting 50. People got so used to dudes putting up 50 HR that it's just natural to say "He can go for 50 this year". That's really the point that I was trying to make in response to dicky baby's post. But you're right, there are exceptions like Andruw Jones, etc. I agree with that completely. Baseball fans are going to have to deprogram themselves of the 50 HR benchmark, because it isnt easy like it was 5-8 years ago. 50 HR just went back to being the exception. And Andruw Jones is just a freak if you ask me. I wish that KW would have pulled the trigger for Maggs back in the day, but hindsight is 20/20.

QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Apr 4, 2006 -> 09:27 AM) The days of the 50 HR mang are long gone, dicky baby. He has the potential to duke it out with Alex Rodriguez, David Ortiz, Mark Teixera, and Chris Shelton for the AL HR crown, though. I would be more inclined to say that the days of the 60 HR guys are long gone more than the 50 HR guy. Andruw Jones hit 51 last year, so it is still on the radar a bit. I definitely think that 50 HR is once again a very tough bench mark to reach, and no longer something that guys like Brady Anderson can just get on a good year(cough supplements cough). But a 50 HR season is only going to be accomplished anymore by upper echelon players. on a side note, looking at the HR totals throughout the last 15 years on this page, the "steroid era" in the late 90's really pops out at you.

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Apr 3, 2006 -> 10:48 PM) Hmmm... "Oakland Athletics shortstop Bobby Crosby left the game due to an injured hand/wrist." He got spiked in the finger by Robinson Cano on a stolen base. I think he cut his index finger open because he had it out of his glove when he was catching the ball, and Cano slid right into the back of Crosbys glove. It might keep him out of the lineup a few days, but I dont think it is much more than a cut to the index finger on his catching hand.

when Thome stepped to the plate, I just had this strange "I still cant believe what I am seeing. Jim Thome is wearing a White Sox uniform. This cannot be happening." All this with a smile on my face, mind you. Very similar to the feeling I had last year with AJ Pierzinski.

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Apr 2, 2006 -> 04:09 PM) All Hammer is saying that many people, myself included, can function normally at .133. He, nor I, are trying to justify the situation at hand, Liriano did the wrongdoing, end of story. Christ, do some people like to argue just for the sake of arguing? Thank you, Mr Spokesperson/Civil man of the year.

I think the longer you are in the WWE and the more interest your character gets influences how much a wrestler knows about their character. Sure, Triple H knows whats going to happen with his character probably for the rest of his life, but I am pretty sure that Matt Hardy has no idea where his character is going right now, and I think that he finds out nightly what is happening to his character and whether he wins or loses. I also think they withold the result of certain pay-per-view spots from even the upper echelon wrestlers because the wrestlers can concentrate on the heat they generate between each other and neither really knows. Nobody likes to lose, and it might take the edge off of a wrestler if he knows he has to job. Some wrestlers know whats gonna happen, but a good majority doesnt know.

QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Apr 1, 2006 -> 08:43 PM) Here's what I originally said: .133 is a damn good buzz, but it doesn't qualify as *drunk* in the vast vast vast vast vast majority of cases. Remember, the old limit used to be .100. Hmmm, you must have missed that part of my post. I can't say that I'm surprised, though. No, I didnt miss anything, in fact the exact quote you just used is what I quoted. You said that the old limit used to be .100, as if that actually applied now. It doesnt. You also said that .133 is a damn good buzz and doesnt qualify as drunk in a vast vast vast vast vast majority of cases. Which cases are these? Do some judges like to say "Remember, the old limit used to be .100, so actually you didnt do so bad."? No. Who cares what the old limit was, it doesnt apply. He was drunk, if the limit was .08 or if it was the old limit of .100. Im not the one missing something here, but that doesnt surprise me. equally as hilarious. No no no, Abefroman isnt joking about a good pitcher being put in jail, he is a hardcore conservative. Whatever.
