QUOTE(Soxfest @ Apr 9, 2006 -> 08:29 PM) Think reason he is a #3 on depth charts for obvious reason's. so says the department of redundancy department. -
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 9, 2006 -> 10:27 AM) WHOA, where did all the love for Local H come from suddenly? Nice. Scott Lucas is Chicago's best kept secrets even though he's been on the scene for like 15 years and plays out all the time in lots of different outfits. At that Halloween bash, Local H Has played as: Nirvana, AC DC, Joan Jett, Bruce S, Hall and Oates etc, always funny and always good. They also did a GREAT cover of Brittney Spears 'Toxic' on their last record. TRUST ME, you have to hear it. Scott also DJs at Smart Bar every Sunday night and does solos acoustic sets here and there all the time. I have "Toxic" on my Ipod. When i worked at WTAO in Marion we recieved that single, and my PD didnt like it so we never played it. I thought it was awesome though.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Apr 9, 2006 -> 08:48 AM) Man, with all the love for those guys, maybe I need to give them another chance. I have come to appreciate Local H much more because of thier shows. Completely off the wall straight up energy and fun. Nothing angry, just hectic and fun. Their CDs are ok, but nothing groundbreaking(although "take out the cats..." was pretty awesome). I once saw Local H at The Copper Dragon in Carbondale about 4 years ago for a halloween show, and the lead singer came out in a ape suit, and played the whole show with it on(without mask of course, then he couldnt sing). I thought he would complain about how hot he was at least once, but he just whipped us into a bigger frenzy and kept bringing up the tempo on the show. It was fantastic. I also was seriously impressed with the lead singer(Scott) when I saw him playing guitar for another band a few years earlier, I believe the band was Fig Dish(opening for the Veruca Salt), they had a problem with one monitor, and the band broke out in an impromptu cover of GnR's "Sweet Child O' Mine", with Scott on lead vocals. The place was up for grabs, it was one of those songs where the entire building was singing the song. I will never forget that. /end happy rant

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 9, 2006 -> 12:19 AM) Local H said it best "And here we go again It's never gonna end We're all so sick of California songs Yeah we know you love L.A. but There's nothin' left to say Please no more California songs .....and f*** New York too" :finger f***ing right. Local H is so much fun

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 09:06 AM) LMAO, Spiff's going to get a kick out of this; I'm sure Isiah Thomas will give him that though. After all, Jerome James did get that last off-season. I think we all realized that Isiah will give anyone any amount of money.

QUOTE(Timoperezrulez @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 08:38 AM) dumbass... feeling insightful* today, huh? *(inciteful)

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 08:08 AM) Uhhh...I'm not the one who said someone deserved to get raped. Not sure why you'd back that up unless you believe he's right. his point was "dont generalize". It wasnt about what 101 said about the rape, it was what you said about living in the appalacians.

QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Apr 7, 2006 -> 02:40 PM) Kevin & Winnie > Zack and Kelly Plus Paul was a much better "geek" than Screech. Man, I never even put those two in the same section of my brain. Watching SBTB was like a guilty pleasure when I was growing up. It interested me, but we all knew that s*** was stupid and completely unrealistic. Pretty much every bit of it. Even when they tried to get serious about some sort of an issue(I think the drunk driving episode is quite possibly the funniest episode ever, with "The Fight" a close second. Say "The Fight" outloud and with reverence, please). The Wonder Years was way more realistic, and the characters were never perfect. The Wonder Years was hilarious, dont get me wrong, but the issues in the Wonder Years were more based on Kevin coming to terms with his family and himself. Mostly his father, IMO. To me, this is kind of like comparing "Married...With Children" to "Family Ties".

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 7, 2006 -> 03:26 PM) I don't mind people like fn and Felix who live away from Chicago and put ketchup on their hot dogs.....but if your from Chicago and do it, I pray for your soul. Yikes. However I will say that if your complaning about too many people going to games or would throw back a home run ball, go be a Cub fan, because your a dumbass. Attendance=payroll, when will people get that?! Sometimes I eat a dog with just mustard on it, sometimes I eat a dog with just ketchup, sometimes I eat a dog Chicago-style. All of the time, I dont give a s*** if someone is actually concerned about what I am putting on my hot dog. NOYB. Im at a park to cheer, the only time another Sox fan should be worried about me is if I come to cheer the other team, which will never happen.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 7, 2006 -> 03:15 PM) I guess we will find out won't we? But of course if she did go back in there totally on her own will, it's her fault if she was raped. Hot Button! Hot Button!

QUOTE(bmags @ Apr 7, 2006 -> 01:22 AM) like you guys don't write the same thing in your emails. I see, you are all holier than thou, right right I was thinking to myself that when I was in college and hanging around with my crew on Friday-Sunday, my language was pretty vile and repulsive. In fact, I will admit to saying some completely ignorant stuff that you would probably never hear out of my mouth in a normal setting, but when you are with your friends and things start getting out of hand(in a good way, the party starts rolling), then the jokes become more crass and ignorant. That being said, this kid pretty much set himself up to fall with his email/text message. If he was involved in the rape, knew about the rape, or committed the rape, then he is going to be completely vilified and hung in the court of public opinion over this, not to mention sent up to the big house. I hope, for his sake, that he knew nothing about what happened and just happened to write an ignorant thing to his buddies that happened to hit very close to home unintentionally. I really dont believe that will happen, but we will see.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 7, 2006 -> 01:35 PM) Is this kind of like putting Wiz on a real cheesesteak sandwich. Cause I happen to love Philly's and those you gotta get with Wiz (although they are damn tasty with provo too). So is it a sin I put Ketchup and Mustard on my brought (to go with the Peppers and Onions)? lol brat, brought, same difference. Who brought the broughts?

This article is just out of whack. The guy is coming from a couple different angles that dont tie in. So a type of steroid saves premature babies, thats fantastic. Is that steroid the particular steroid that Bonds abuses? Is that steroid a common "juicer" steroid? Does it apply to the argument that Bonds is a steroid abuser? This isnt an "compare apples to apples" argument here. Because some of these apples are green, sour apples that arent typically good for pies and then there are the golden delicious apples that are common for apple pies. There are differences in these apples, but this author wants to group them all together. Now, if the author had presented his argument with perfectly good uses for the cream and the clear in the context of saving lives, then his argument would have much more merit. As it stands though, its a reach.

Surprisingly, not even a mention of the letter from AM and JR in Mariotti's column. http://www.suntimes.com/output/mariotti/cst-spt-jay07.html

QUOTE(Wanne @ Apr 6, 2006 -> 12:37 PM) Definately stick with "Hai" and just nod.....or keep the handy notes close by. "i-yo" works pretty well...and has that "I'm down with your Western slang" feel to it. If you want to say "OK", please say "i-yo". If you want to say "I think so.", say "so-ne". If you want to say "Yes!", say "hai". If you want to say "Yeah.", say "a-" or "wn". If you want to say "Almost.", say "ma-ne". If you want to say "No!", please sat "dame". If you want to say "No, I'm not.", say "i-e". hey, i know that language. Thats Furbish!

That is cool. It seems like a cross between a crocodile and a mudskipper.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 6, 2006 -> 11:06 AM) I'm no big fan of Selig, but I believe his hands were tied by the union. I dont know where I read it, but IIRC there was to be no labor deal unless steroid testing was left off the table when the last labor deal was negotiated, and the Union was pretty clear that if MLB was going to push for testing, then there would be a strike. But I may not be recalling it correctly, its been a long time since I read any articles concerning the negotiation of the last labor deal.

QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Apr 6, 2006 -> 10:07 AM) Ozzie is officially on my s*** list now (He'll be on and off all season). He's started the year off on the wrong foot by a) not putting his foot in his mouth and B) making irrational decisions about the lineup and bullpen. I won't rehash them--I think we all know what I'm referring to--but the Oz needs to realize spring training doesn't mean squat, and that those stats should be thrown out the window when he's making decisions. He sat Gooch because he was 2-16 against Washburn? Come on. The Sox played the Mariners yesterday? Wow, where was I?

I would seriously reconsider your route of Old Country Buffet - US Cellular Scout Seats. Chances are you wont have a girlfriend after OCB, so you might have to sell your extra ticket.

QUOTE(Harry&JimmyRocked @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 09:30 PM) once again sox fans practice the art of selective reading and jumping to conclusions. im not b****ing but asking a question and stating some insights. i asked if it was the start, a.k.a. a warning sign. depth is one thing but as i said, i see cintron there to take iguchi's job. i see iguchi seeing this too. it just looks like they're trying to put one over on mr tadahito. i did say that he's not stupid. all he said was no comment and ozzie went off. what's gonna happen later in the year if we're 5 games down? did i say ozzies move was wrong? do yourself a favor and put that 6th grade education to use and read. i think anyone in iguchi's position can see what the sox are doing. for the most "honest" organization out there (kw and ozzie's words) looks like it's a shady move. QUOTE(Harry&JimmyRocked @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 08:49 PM) Is this the start of ozzie losing his players? Iguchi isn't stupid. He just doesn't speak english. He can see that Cintron is there to take his job. Funny thing is that he has done nothing to lose it. Ozzie once again has taken the first shot at someone (see the arod saga). I think Ozzie is gonna buckle under the pressure. He almost did last year during the Indians big run, he admitted that. The pressure this year dwarves any pressure put on the southside team. There just seems to be too much going on with the team and we arent even one week into the season. LMAO

This is gonna fire up Mariotti, I know that. He is going to be whining about this for months.
